Yost is the worst pitcher manager. He cannot pick up on momentums. We've lost 5-10 games this year because he doesn't get guys up throwing quick enough when it's obvious the starter is in trouble. Then he will pull the starter (shields) when he's strong based on pitch count or the fact that he is married to the set up philosophy. Very frustrating. Can have serious impact on momentums stretching into several games.

In other offensively inept news, Homer Bailey is 3 outs away from no-hitting the Giants.

He plays that game with batters too. Always tries to stick with the righty-lefty bullshit, even it a dude has several hits over the prior couple games

Agreed.. I don't care if it is the 1st inning. If the guy doesn't have it, he doesn't have it. Davis, Mendoza, Guthrie... When these guys are on they're good. When they're off or losing it, they show quick. Two or three guys reach in a row, somebody should be up throwing. Shields is obviously the exception.. He should be give some time to work through. Not these other guys.

I told my son the night he pulled shields after the 8 inning shutout, watch we're gonna blow this and go into a slide... Sure enough. We were first in the division I believe when he made that blunder.

He's got 2 starters in the bullpen too. Not a luxury that many teams I imagine even have.
