Oh, FFS...getting a used condom for Baldwin would have been a great trade. |

LMAO Jenkins wasn't making the Niners. They could have had both if they weren't going to release Baldwin. #getaclue |

Jenkins is much quicker in and out of his cuts and can get into the intermediate zones better. If you have him run a drag route from the slot, for instance, he'll likely be able to get and keep his separation as he crosses the middle (with Smith hitting him on the rollout as he clears the interior linebacker). Baldwin couldn't get that separation; the nickle CB could break right on him and stay with him all the way. We can use his speed. |
Eh - hope one mans trash is your treasure. Doesn't seem like a bad move for either team
|
Are we now rid of his salary? I bet Jenkins is a little cheaper.

It seems likely that Jenkins will be able to replace Baldwin's production. Or at least it's unlikely that he'll produce less.

If Baldwin can't catch Matt Cassell/Alex Smith passes, I don't see how he's catching Kaep passes.

Crap for Crap. End of analysis.

Baldwin sucked...couldn't catch the ball. That wasn't going to change. Jenkins is faster, quicker and he can catch the ball. He has done nothing in one year, but he was terrific in college. Baldwin was always a project. Some projects don't work out. Trade his ass and move on.
If AJ doesn't work out, what exactly did we just lose? |

I see nothing beneficial w/ bringing jenkins aboard I'm already in the 'let andy reid coach up alex smith/dexter mccluster/knile davis' camp, just don't know how many tents I can pitch in the same campsite ya know? |

Now CP will think Baldwin is the second coming of Jerry rice

Adam Caplan @caplannfl 16s
Trade makes perfect sense from #Chiefs standpoint: Reid prefers speed on outside. Jenkins will give them that right away. |
Ashes to ashes. Bust for bust.

only risk is that if one of the team misused/wrongly evaluated one of the players and just traded away talent. Maybe both players fit better and it works for each team. |

Need Bray in there to get the ball to him downfield. |
The best thing about this trade.
For the Chiefs, now Donnie Avery will actually see some time with the 1's |

We both hard parts we knew we weren't going to use. SF wasn't going to give anything of real value for Baldwin. The only question I have is what Jenkins cap figure is. Is it possible the Chiefs could've been better off just releasing Baldwin outright and using the case space on Brandon Lloyd? I figure the Chargers will price him out of our bracket, but there are still a couple of moves (like extending Berry) that could free up some space for a run at Lloyd. But it seems fairly apparent at this point that the Chiefs aren't interested. The Chiefs weren't going to get anything for Baldwin. They weren't going to get SF to trade down from the 2nd to the 3rd. They were unlikely to be able to get a 6th for him. His value is essentially zero so they flipped him for another lottery ticket. Again, changing mis-matched parts is generally a good idea. If it doesn't work out, you're not out anything. The opportunity cost on a Baldwin trade is almost certainly nothing more than a 6th/7th round pick. |

AJ Jenkins is mediocre at best. Didnt get on the field very much last year.
Dropped his only target last season. Fumbled his first catch in preseason this year. Gimme Baldwin. We have nothing to lose at this point. If he has anything at all in the tank, it should be better than what we've gotten from AJ. Which is nothing. |

Two threads, two hookers, and blow. Day is complete.

one or two of these UDFA no named WRs (Richardson, Hammond, etc) is definitely going to make the team now based on their speed

Baldwin had like 2.Xm in cap this year but 3.Xm in dead money. |
going by Dorsey's track record, we will find out later today that we actually trade Bowe to the 49ers for Jenkins.

Alex Smith was a very hard worker. No one even the haters can dispute that. From all accounts, Baldwin is a lazy piece of crap. And, It wasn't like Harbaugh was able to turn Aj Jenkins into a stud. No matter how good the coach is. There is a matter of want that goes with it. |
