Did they cut #99 Kendrell Bell yet?

If not they should cut him again, just to be sure.

Chiefshrink 08-31-2013 03:55 PM

Hammond looked awful smooth and explosive as a return man but he was playing against 2nd and 3rd team special teams I get that.

Actually was referring to this guy.

99 Jones, Edgar LB ACT 6'3" 262 12/1/1984 6 Southeast Missouri State

Saw #99 on the field a few times and his playing (unfortunately) reminded me of Kendrell Bell.

I figured he would get cut.

TambaBerry 08-31-2013 04:05 PM

Can you please keep the post updated with the cuts so we don't have to read every page to find them.

I was a Draughn fan, but that last preseason game sealed his fate. He couldn't block and Cyrus Gray played great.

*Insert Draughn strike pun here*

Red Dawg 08-31-2013 04:22 PM

Who else did they cut?

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Having the worst record in the NFL, the Chiefs have decided to take advantage of a new rule allowing them to keep 65 players on the roster.

Well then, that injury of Wylie's Thursday night and the Play of Hammond was meaningless.

Other than Wylie, the other two players have been more productive and have more potential than those players you just listed. I'd take any of the three over Wylie though.

Meh, I would have liked to keep Hammond to return punts, but I didn't really know about the other 3

Come on...only thing Bellamy adds is special teams blocking which is why I wanted to keep him over Wylie. Wylie has no reason to be on the team with Demps, McCluster, and Davis being capable of returning kicks. He can't block but Bellamy can.

And McCluster will have a better career of all the people we cut.

Probably a 48-53 guy though. Those guys have to be on their toes the next few days when we start picking up players.

Rasputin 08-31-2013 04:49 PM

How can anyone suck at football with the name A.J. Hawkins?

Maybe if his name was A.J. Hawk and played defense he would have fared out better in the league? Probably have a phat head too?

mcaj22 08-31-2013 04:50 PM

so they kept 5 safeties and 4 CBs

and like 5 OLBers. Interesting

Wylie and McCluster are scrubs. The difference is that Hammond, Richardson, and Bellamy aren't midgets. Bellamy and Richardson can cover kicks and Hammond can return at least as well as the two guys we kept.

McCluster is absolutely nothing special in the passing game, and I'd rather see what those guys can do. Hammond destroys him in speed.

Hemingway will be starting by the end of the season.

Eleazar 08-31-2013 04:58 PM

As much heat as McCluster takes around here, and I'm not a huge fan either - the new regime seems to feel like they have a use for him.

Hemingway and Jenkins have been in the league for one year. THere is no reason to assume they can't become productive players.

Wylie and McCluster bring nothing to the table you can't find on the scrap heap.

Not if you watched him play.

I think he was a TC all-star b/c he just went around players with speed, which is much easier to do in one on one blocking drills. I'm the games he did squat.

We need more explosive playmakers on offensive.

I want to give Hemingway and Jenkins a chance. But to your logic here, then why not Wylie? (one year)

Hemi might be legit. Wylie is the new Copper, hopefully just for the season. McCluster hasn't lost his job, do whatever. Jenkins is here purely on potential.

All my Hawkeye friends say and he is a good player! Only thought of by non Chief fans.

He even gets mentions in notable cuts by NFL.com. Silly. He had one highlight catch against the Niners and he is suddenly all world to the Heartland.

Whoa, settle down there, bud.

How's this for an honest answer to your honest question:

I'd rather dimiss Wylie, a one-year player, over Hemingway and Jenkins, because I've never seen Wylie do anything they couldn't do, and they aren't constantly injured, either.

Add to that the size advantage, and it's a no-brainer.

Oh, and since I'm an asshole, let me add..

Go **** yourself.
