IFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF and its huge, the Chiefs defense can play at 60 percent of the level they played at say against Dallas, or the Giants, and the offense can maintain 60 percent of the level they were prior to the Colts diatribe, the Chiefs can make life a living hell for ANYONE in the Afc.

The bonus for the Chiefs?

Every time that GoChiefs has dug his feet in, and proclaimed that he saw everything coming, Alex Smith has stuck his dick in his ear, and made him go blind.

Alex Smith........Clays worst nightmare. The guy who does what no qb has done since Joe Montana. Help the Chiefs win a playoff game.

He may go on suicide watch.

This is going to happen. 1 win minimum.

tk13 12-29-2013 10:45 PM

The defense is just as big of a question mark at this point. They have to rush the passer. That's the difference. We're in the playoffs now, every game is against a good QB now. The teams that rush the passer and disrupt the other offense win.

A fresh albert, Houston back, Charles rested, Bowe rested.

Chiefs shock the world. Go Chiefs claims he was just messing around he always believed makes some video proclaiming his love for the Chiefs, and Alex Smith.

Lasts about 35 minutes, then he mule kicks himself in the nuts, and is the same jackass all the rest of the week.

Rinse, repeat, carry on.

They will want a Luck vs Manning game.

So yeah, it's going to be hard to overcome.

KCrockaholic 12-29-2013 10:55 PM

Luck Vs Manning, sure. But what got the highest rating of the NFL season? Wasn't it Chiefs-Broncos? If anything they should want a big divisional rivalry game.

BossChief 12-29-2013 10:55 PM

In the last matchup, they scored on a couple flakey plays that I don't think are gonna happen again. That and us getting Houston back with fresh legs is gonna give us a nice boost both in the locker room and on the field.

It's all gonna boil down to if Kendrick Lewis is replaced in the lineup by then and if Alex Smith can raise is level of play to fit the stage.

Outcome would have been completely different if Bowe knew how to hold onto the ball. Pretty much every turnover came after a Bowe drop/mishap.

For a so called Chiefs fan, you have painted yourself into a mighty tough corner.

There isn't a corner made that he cant wiggle out of.

He's already made himself essentially bulletproof with the "jake plummer won a few playoff games too, so what" line... the cold fact is that there isn't anything Alex Smith can do, short of a super bowl ring, to shut his ass up.

Its best to just divest yourself from caring what he think about anything these days.

Oh, I am completely divested. I made him my permanent bitch when I let him out of HIS BET. He made that bet, NOT ME.

There isn't shit he can say to me.

Alex Smith has played well enough to earn the respect of his teammates, and coaches. What ever fans may think is irrelevant.

Its going to be odd for Clay. Having to want to cheer for the Chiefs, but knowing that if he does, and they win, he will have completely mouth ****ed himself. Spent an entire year wasting everyones time running his mouth.

And, if they lose, to the real fans, they will understand the positives that happened this season, and that their foundation is being laid.

Unfortunately, that also means, an entire OFFSEASON, of listening to clay, and his I TOLD YOU SO's

FloridaMan88 12-29-2013 11:23 PM

Colts aren't nearly as good as the Chiefs made them appear to be last week in KC.

Chiefs have played better on the road this year.

They'll be as healthy as they've been all season next week.

This will be as good a chance as any in recent playoff appearances for the Chiefs to finally break their playoff winless streak.

BossChief 12-29-2013 11:31 PM

Well. Alex is gonna need to play a hell of a lot better than he did in the first matchup against Indy. He has had an extra week to prepare and make his own adjustments to better help us win this one.

No excuses.

He knows Mathis is out there, adjust your blocking schemes and protections.

Trust your receivers and deliver the ball on time.

Fritz88 12-29-2013 11:31 PM

I am not worried about Alex. I am worried about his WRs dropping the ball.

And off course, our FS.

It's blind faith but getting a couple nice plays from the outside early could open up the short and middle game that is the bread and butter.

A day like today was one of the few games this year where Anquan Boldin really helped out Kaepernick with a few great plays. That old cast off for a sixth-round pick can dust off All Pro games. Bowe needs to pull his head out of his butt and seize his opportunities.

Anyong Bluth 12-29-2013 11:56 PM

Colts only -1.5 opening line?

Playing at home is generally a 3 point advantage for the spread, and actually this year it's been 3.8...

Jenkins saved his job for next year. He didn't earn a job in the playoffs. I can't stand the thought of trusting Avery. But the dude does get open, and Jenkins has just as bad a history of the dropsies. Maybe Jenkins gets some looks in 4 WR sets.

The guy that earned more bonus points was McCluster. Today was probably one of his best games as a receiver.

The game will probably come down to a kick...Where have I seen this before? :banghead:

No room for error. The potential Manning / Luck playoff match up is too big of a story for lowly KC to ruin. From what I've witnessed yesterday, and all year for that matter, any close call or non-call will push that narrative. :cuss:

Dex is having a good year. He is improving and is a legit threat offensively as well as in the return game. He just might play his way into justifying his draft selection status. Anyone who does not see the improvement in his game simply doesn't want to. He is a play maker.

Already beating that drum, eh?

KC has the horses to play with IND at their house and win, but they haven't put it all together and say what you will about 2-5 in the last 7, but that's a mental hurdle to overcome for KC. Losing a tight one with the backups just adds to it. Not sure that's the momentum you want heading into a big playoff road game.

Crazy things happen though.

Sorry, I do not think the bolded part is true at all. Sunday's result was the least likely scenario anyone, including Vegas, predicted. No one had KC even being competitive in that game. The pre-game show was nothing but the wailiing and the knashing of teeth, particularly by donkey face Shannon Sharpe about how the Chiefs were essentially giving the game to the Chargers by playing backups and screwing the Steelers. If anything, yesterday shows Reid and the rest of the coaches that some of these backups have the ability to make good plays in situations that matter against teams that are playing for something. Reid and the team are feeling good about yesterday overall, and I think they are going to be a loose and confident team going into the playoffs. The past playoff struggles are something we as fans live with it...but Reid was not here. Over half of this roster has not been here for any of it...they are looking to start their new post season legacy.

Well, the good thing is that all 3 teams that beat them are in the playoffs. I'm hoping that the chargers beat them in round 2. I am also hoping that we are the ones to do it. But if not us or the chargers, then I am hoping for the Patriots to do it. I really don't want Luck to have a crack at them because that means yet another one and done for KC.

Jamaal indoors and on turf = bad news for the Colts.

I think we win this game by 10 easily.

Not being overconfident here, but I think we basically mailed it in during the first matchup with these guys. Even Smith admitted that they "Took their foot off of the gas" after the first drive in which we marched it down their throats and punched it in.

Well, in Fans minds, Chiefs fans, and anyone who hates the Donkeys, much like myself, there was a hope, that the Broncos would lose one of their remaining playoff matchups with chumps. Houston, and Oakland.

In reality, and probably in Andy Reids mind, and probably his teams, that was an unrealistic possibility, and as many on this board had suggested that with the likely hood of seeing them in the first round of the playoffs, that there was not going to be a lot shown against them.

You will see a much different team going into Indy.

The return of Albert, Houston, a healthy Jamal, are going to be HUGE.

The Chiefs are the scariest team in the Afc if you ask me.

Everyone is doubting them now.

Hmmmm. Interesting that you would say that.

You mean like The Giants in 2011. Started 6-2, and finished the season 9-7?

How about the Packers in 2010? Went in as the 6th seed and won it all.

Or, how about you know, the Ravens last year, went in losing 4 out of 5, and you know, just won the super bowl.

You are right. Its always the team like Denver last year, or Atlanta last year, or the 15-1 packers, or the 16-0 Pats that win the super bowl right?

The past three super bowl champs, all limped into the playoffs.

Whatever. KC has not played we'll against teams with good QBs. Maybe that will change in the playoffs, but maybe not.

Well, while what you say is true, kind of. They did play well against Romo, and played well against Rivers yesterday, but the Giants lost to the Patriots in the regular season in 2007, before beating them in the playoffs.

It is very hard, to beat an opponent twice in such a short period of time.

yes, Denver did it against the Chiefs, but really, the Chiefs played so poorly, and far below full strength, that its hard to imagine them playing that poorly again.

I think maybe you are underestimating the return of Houston, and Albert.

OH, and maybe Peyton Manning wont choke in the playoffs, or, maybe he will.

Ill take recent history, you know, the last three super bowl champs limping in, and Peyton Mannings propensity to choke like a bitch in the playoffs, over your arrogant takes.

Deal?

When the Giants lost to the Pats in last week of regular season the Pats were undefeated and came VERY close to losing to the Giants that game...gave the Giants confidence going in. So not sure that is the best example of a team limping into playoffs. :doh!: BUT having said that I felt for sure coming within inches of beating a playoff team with our backups while resting up our starters was a HUGE win for us going in and negates our sub par performance against Indy last week, which we now have a good chance to revenge

Fair enough, I guess we will find out soon enough.

I'm more worried about the Broncos defense than Manning.

Damn. Tickets went up significantly.

The same seats that were 85 bucks last night are going for 125 now.

The bad offensive line showed up last game against Indy. If it shows up again, we'll lose. Who's starting?
