Ah, right.

The real issue here is that Belichick is unique. You can't really just get a piece of him by taking someone that works with him in that organization. You'd think after the multiple failures that folks would be more accepting of that fact. We'll see I guess. McDaniel's is too young for his book to be completely written after one failure.

FYP.

All that said, I think McDaniels is probably a good coaching candidate in about 2017. Seems to me that he needs to mature a bit more before he is given another shot at being HC.

Even with some maturity, this guy is Norv 2.0 IMO... an excellent OC who just isn't cut out for the head mans shoes.

Wow an excellent OC now? I'm thinking Brady has a little something to do with this. In fact in my opinion Brady has made a bunch of people in the Patriots coaching staff millionaires. They owe him their asses, including Belicheat.

Hmmm.. Cant argue with it. No one, not Weiss, not McDaniels, have had anywhere near the success outside of NE.

The only one who comes close, is Bill O'Brien.

Fair points.

how bad of a dumpster fire is the Browns if McDaniels doesn't even want to coach there

Or in other words...the Browns told him they were going to pass on him so McDaniels does what any 8 year old would do, "Well I didn't want to ____ anway!"

That is probably pretty accurate..

greatgooglymoogly 01-08-2014 02:53 PM

The Browns may have to contact Jim Tressel. If he were going to take another coaching job, I'd assume this would be it...

Well, even McDumbass is smart enough to turn this job down, so desperate times...you know the rest.

Was told by multiple sources close to the process that the Browns were all in on McDaniels. Tough loss for the organization.

Too early to close the books on McDaniel. He's 37 years old for chrissakes.

I know it hard to believe that someone would turn down someone from the patriots tree...but maybe the Browns realized that everyone who leaves New England is doomed to fail.

The truth is tough.

Truth? You pulled a guess out of your ass, with no knowledge of the situation. You may be right, and you may be wrong, but the one thing you definitely are is full of shit when you claim "truth", since you haven't a clue.

donkhater 01-08-2014 03:24 PM

And yet...

Even this team has won a playoff game more recently than KC.

You don't have to pick either-or...you are allowed to to come up with your own oppinion. But I can see where you may struggle with that...

I don't find that difficult to believe at all. In fact, I specifically said elsewhere on this board that I thought it was too early for McDaniels to get another HC position.

That doesn't change the fact that you pulled your statement that the report of McDaniels turning down the job is his effort to save face because the Browns had told him he was out of the running from nowhere but your ass.

It could be, but you're the one running around as if you KNOW, when in fact you don't.

As for kissing it, maybe you like guys doing that but I don't swing that way.

You can back down if you like. Obviously you didn't and couldn't know, but you were making statements as if it was OBVIOUS that the Browns had told him they weren't going to hire him.

And then, just down the road, Marvin Freaking Lewis keeps on going, going, going.....unreal.

It's all one big conspiracy. I heard they are going to rehire chud next week. They are auditioning for hard knocks.
