Two of the last three times I've eaten at Culvers I've gotten sick. Never again.

Great icecream. Clean. Really clean. Never had bad service. Burgers are top drawer. Its lots like ChicFilA quality and nice folks.

I like their burrgers. Their fries are good, too. They also have very good service.

Almost certain they're filled with Fancy Feast as well.

Another plug for BRGR. They have a Juicy Lucy. Slices of cheese are made inside the patty before it's cooked. Glorious.

Red's in Springfield doesn't exist any more. It was bulldozed several years ago.

A really good mom & pop burger place is on US 40 highway in Independence, about three miles East of Arrowhead. It's called "Big Boy Burger." It's not the same chain as Hi-Boy, but both are similar. Big Boy is family owned like Hi-Boy, both have great huge burgers and onion rings, and great shakes and ice cream. Big Boy also has lots of antique and custom car club rallys on weekends during the spring and summer.

Culvers? It's not much like Whataburger at all.

I thought the patty was about the same style but smaller. I'm a huge Whataburger fan. It's the first place I stop on the family trip to Florida each year. Double with cheese!

Their burgers are ok...but their fish sandwich is the best fast food fish sandwich in the city (IMO).

However, it is quite expensive (for fast food).

Red's was the shiznit. I've been by it, never had a chance to stop in. Bummer.

Yes, Culver's fish sandwich is very good. My favorite thing that they make, and it IS expensive.

Well, since we are starting a list....we like Big Burger. On Vivion and N. Brighton in the northland.

They opened one on 135th a couple years back, and it's good enough that I've made it a point of going at least once every couple of months. Good burgers, good crinkle fries, good (but different) root beer, good custard and good cheese curds.

I tried freddies steakburgers a few months ago, and like that place, too, but it's maybe even more expensive than culver's.

Culvers is great. Love the Ice Cream and Butter Burgers. They make a great Reuben too.

I personally love Culver's. It's always the first stop I make everytime I'm home from college.

I didn't know there was one there. I go to the one off 69 highway on 135th. I just wish Culver's gave more fries.

The last time I had a fish sandwich @ Culver's, they were serving Walleye at the time. Don't know if they serve Walleye all the time, but it was danged tasty.

Another couple of decent local burger joints = Big Bam's @ 59th and Neiman, and Grandstand Burgers @ 49th and Merrian Lane. Nothing fancy, just good hamburgers.

There's one in webb city and it was my son's favorite place to eat.
