The name is going to be changed in the next 10 years most likely. Maybe it will change our luck?
I don't like it, but the pussification of society is on fast track. |

I've never hated someone based off of a name and a photo than I do with this guy. And that was before I read the reeruned article. Progressive bundle of sticks.

I don't think the Chiefs should change their name due to the pressure put on the organization by pussies like this guy. I think they should change it to pick a better name.
|
Here is what I want the Chiefs to do. Let's use this situation to draw attention to the Native American culture. Maybe a museam at arrowhead about local tribes and customs. Let's show everyone we are not disrespecting, but drawing strength and unity from their culture. We all take pride in that Arrowhead logo. The chant is a way to unify and channel our energy. Sure we can all yell and scream but there are few things that give me chills like 80k strong, all chanting.. I just don't understand how someone could be offended by people using their heritage as a symbol of strength.

There needs to be a political party built around the idea that nobody needs to give a rip what someone might be "offended" by. Suck it up. That's life.

Just think of all the things that will have to change:
Commander-in-Chief Chief Executive Officer Chief Petty Officer Chief of Police |
****tard writer is ****tard.
That being said, why not.... It's time for the concept of "Indian Nation" to be wiped from the U.S., they are Americans, and nobody gives a shit what their great, great, great, great, great grand dad did? Add to it that we can take back those swaths of land we gave them (cattle grazing perhaps), have the large U.S. population open casinos, and not have to worry about their particular status government contracting, and we'll all be better off. IOW, they can get a job just like the rest of the world! |
The Sacremento Kings need to change their name, as it is offensive to Prince William and other members of royal families.
Dallas Cowboys? I herd cattle for a living. How dare you? Minnesota Vikings - your approximation of my Norwegian ancestors trivializes their culture and heritage. Green Bay Packers? You anti-union piece of shit. Seattle Mariners? DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WE'VE SACRIFICED TRADING GOODS ON THE OPEN SEAS??? |

The etymology of the noun "chief"; c.1300, "head, leader, captain; the principal or most important part of anything;" from Old French chief "leader, ruler, head" of something, "capital city"
Without "chiefs" in a society, anarchy would ensue. Maybe Hampton Stevens would prefer the name Kansas City Anarchists. |

My mom is really into geneology (sp???), and has traced her lineage back to 1680 in Virginia, including a stop during the American Revolution that earned her a place in Daughters of the American Revolution.
All that leads up to the fact that, as a descendant of Revolutionaries, I find the use of the word "Patriots" for the blatant purpose of making money to be highly offensive. It doesn't help that they at least got rid of that stupid logo with the guy in a three point hat also in a three point stance. The team name must go. The Redskins, I get. Not saying I agree with it, but it is at least understandable, because the word itself in its common use is intended to be derogatory. But the Chiefs? Please. |
