It's kinda like some reverse-psychology type of crazy stuff.

cmh6476 08-11-2014 03:49 PM

is it much of a fantasy to think we will win and the A's will lose?

cmh6476 08-11-2014 03:51 PM

also this juju didn't last long so if this happens tonight this is on someone else:

It seems like the majority of the time when I decide to go up to the bar so I can actually see the game they end up losing. So I am glad the noob started the game thread; I can indulge in my desire to watch tonight and be completely off the hook should things go wrong.

ROYC75 08-11-2014 04:14 PM

Just saw on MLB that when the Royals hit a HR, we are winning at a .776 pct.

That's better than my .720 pct while watching them.

We need to hit a HR or two tonight while I watch them!

I'm IN Oakland for work and plan to hit a sports bar to watch the game. I too will be off the hook if things go awry.

Royals acquired OF Josh Willingham from the Twins in exchange for RHP Jason Adam.

Willingham figures to share designated hitter duties with Raul Ibanez while Billy Butler mans first base with Eric Hosmer (hand) out. The 35-year-old has hit just .209/.343/.380 since the beginning of last season but has slugged 26 homers over 613 at-bats. He'll give the Royals some extra pop down the stretch.

Would love to see him return to 2012 form...... we could use a guy that has popped 35 dingers before in a season.

He was placed on waivers and the Royals claimed him and worked out a trade, I believe.

C3HIEF3S 08-11-2014 05:35 PM

Pirates up 4-1 in the 1st inning with JV on the mound for the kitties.

Archie F. Swin 08-11-2014 05:36 PM

Marte belts a 3 run triple to put the Pirates up 3 to 1.

Now 4-1 pirates

Simplicity 08-11-2014 05:36 PM

Pirates up 4-1 in the 1st.

bsroyals54 08-11-2014 05:37 PM

This win is huge for Guthrie and more importantly the Royals

C3HIEF3S 08-11-2014 05:38 PM

28 pitches for JV in 1/3 of an inning.

Pen is getting loose.. after a 19 game inning last night.

Good move!!!

C3HIEF3S 08-11-2014 05:45 PM

Verlander gives up 5 runs on 40 pitches in the 1st inning vs the Pirates. Better hope he throws 130 pitches to save that pen tonight.

Archie F. Swin 08-11-2014 05:47 PM

Too many 120 pitch games for Verlander

Simplicity 08-11-2014 05:47 PM

Did anyone just see that play in the O's game...? Typical 1st and 3rd situation.

cmh6476 08-11-2014 05:49 PM

Verlander has thrown 40 pitches through one inning. Keep taxing that crapass bulpen

bsroyals54 08-11-2014 05:50 PM

I'm not worried about this series, we seem to play good baseball vs top tier teams, I'm worried about the Twins O_O

Simplicity 08-11-2014 05:53 PM

Archie F. Swin 08-11-2014 05:54 PM

The Pirates starting pitcher is trying to give it all back

Don Corlemahomes 08-11-2014 05:55 PM

Not a huge fan of the Willingham deal. His July and August stats are abysmal. Hope that changes due to meaningful baseball being playe.

WhawhaWhat 08-11-2014 06:09 PM

Verlander is getting shelled and they don't have much of a BP after yesterday's game. Wonder if they let Verlander wear it all and save the BP for later.
