Confidence makes up for appearance. Until you go against those who have both. Keep up the good work, glad to see your progress...

Definitely! Unfortunately for me, it was when I was 25. I realized it was never gonna get any better. I didn't want to be one of those guys that look like a clown. I went from long hair to completely bald in about 30 minutes. Been that way ever since. I don't put any lotion or anything. Just shave it with a Schick Xtreme 3 and Barbasol aloe shaving cream 2-3 times a week.

Aspengc8 10-16-2014 03:05 PM

I rotate between a Headblade w/their shaving 'slick', and a Dollar Shave Club 'executive'. Both work well. I keep my full beard trimmed about 1".

Bald men look smarter and are perceived as such.

In my professional life, every Manager/Mentor that I look up to the most is bald. I do high level shit.

Studies also show they're perceived as more masculine, taller, and stronger. (The same study says, however, they're also perceived as less attractive.)

Yes indeed. Likely around 40, as what happened to me.

It starts to get like this in your 30's....

http://cdn.gunaxin.com/wp-content/up...sBlindDate.png

Then, you are down to this by your late 30's - early 40's...

http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/tic...tilerescue.jpg

Until finally, you realize it's time to just go with this, and be done with it...

http://cdn.brobible.com/wp-content/u...uce-Willis.jpg

The transition is easy and actually liberating, but it really helps if you have a good looking noggin to pull it off. Just takes a few minutes with Wahl or ConAir clippers.. no attachments needed. Works well with a constant 3-5 day beard.

On a serious note, I don't understand why I'm not almost bald.

My cousin has entered that zone of "holy shit you have hair but you would look better without hair." He and I are the same age. They say baldness is hereditary on the mother's side, so, since he and I share similar genetics on the mother's side...shouldn't I be going bald? My grandpa was also practically bald by my age.

No. But you did say you have thin hair. You just got part of the gene. I guess.

That's exactly how my hair was even before it started thinning. If I didnt use product it woud look all gay and fluffy. I wore hats a lot, too lazy to mess with it all the time and I hate hats.

Haha, that's similar to what happened to me. I went swimming with dolphins on vacation and saw the overhead video and was like, "What?! Is that what my head looks like?!" I've been shaving it ever since.

As for keeping burn and bumps to a minimum, this stuff is the best. I've tried a million different kinds of creams and gels because I'm prone to razor bumps, and this is by far the best I've ever used.

The trick is to start the Rogain, or implants, now. Do this in sync with your hair loss so no one notices any difference. It's a tricky bitch, I'm sure.

The only thing I really miss about not having hair is not having women run their fingers through it. In my case, it's pretty much one woman, but you get the drift. It always felt good.

I didn't know that Rogaine was an over the counter deal now. I was at the grocery store and saw a guy self-checking a big container of it. It seems like it should be more of a prescription thing.

The dudes who market that as a cure should be in jail. I'd go with that shit in a spray can as a better alternative. Yeah, that shit.

I am going to stop posting here, as a 49 year old man with glorious hair, lest I wake up tomorrow bald, but smarter. Which wouldn't be a bad trade off if it were not for my horrendously shaped head. God knows that would look horrible and, up to the point, has cut me some slack.

My hair, grown out, rivals Leif Garret back in the day. Frampton too.

Buzz 10-16-2014 05:43 PM

I'm 46 and still have hair, although it is turning grey. I use clippers with guards, 3/4" on top, 1/4" on the sides and cut my own hair every other week. I use hair gel and blow dry, no beard.

Yup. Mine is creeping at a substantial rate. I look like Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri. I dye with each haircut.

"Yea, I dye my hair. Wanna fight about it?!"

GloryDayz 10-16-2014 06:35 PM

I'm cursed with a full head of hair into my 50s. I use gel, and have been using shit since today's gel was the mousse! And if I don't, it's just wrong! Getting sick of telling the haircut ladies they need to do a scissor cut and thin it! It's in the ****ing computer, I'm not new, and I'm there every 3-4 weeks! They love my hair, but forget it as soon as I walk out!

Get the lady's hair color. Mix it up, rub it in, let stand as per directions (20ish minutes), rinse in shower. Extra dose for those gray side-burns. Apply there first

I've been shaving my head for 14 years. It's like going commando. Free Willy.

I use an electric clippers (like what they use on your neck in the barber shop) but without any attachments and the blade set all the way down to zero. I do it every other day.

You'll love it.

Just don't grow a goatee.

I'm sure it would. The ATX is designed for use other than head.

The little samples of stuff they send - some good products. The shave cream and exfoliator are really nice.

The shave cream - called Headblade Slick - is super nice. And the exfoliator - called Headblade Shed - uses ground up walnut shells as the scrubbing stuff, also super nice.
