Were the rashers boiled instead of fried? They seem a bit pink to what I got. And did they offer black pudding as an option?

Ah... "Back in the day" I spent some time(s) in Faslane/Rhu Scotland and they served them more like you see below. Closer to a fat slice of bacon, perhaps a ham-steak, and with the color of bacon. And yeah, they were awesome. The white pudding they served wasn't all that, I actually preferred the spice of their black pudding, but that might have been just a local thing and not a standard.

But thanks for the trip down memory lane!
