You makes teriyaki from soy sauce.

soy sauce + mirin + brown sugar + ginger + garlic = teriyaki.

All that stuff makes it stick to chicken wings better. Soy sauce would just run off into the coals.

You can mix things together.

Bugeater 01-18-2015 08:23 PM

Ah, I get what you guys are saying. If I picked soy sauce I'd have that and still be able to make teriyaki. Only thing is I never use soy sauce by itself.

That is what I am saying. Choose soy sauce are you condiment and you can use it to make teriyaki sauce.

Plus it is the basis for other things like Sweet & Sour, hoisin sauce, and peanut sauce.

Grab some of this:

http://www.vitacost.com/Images/Produ...4756000037.jpg

Heat it up in a sauce pan. Add stone ground mustard. Blend in brown sugar and ground clove. If needed add vinegar and dill to taste. Use enough of each ingredient to get a perfect balance of salty/sweet/tart/spicy. Put it on your pork.

TREMENDOUSTWELVE®*
Three eggs, four buttermilk pancakes, choice of hash browns,
breakfast potatoes or fruit, choice of four applewood smoked
bacon strips or four sausage links. No sides

But I would prefer to split that with another diner. Although I could eat all that, I no longer see it as advantageous.

They just renamed it Granny's Country Omelette to disassociate themselves from the Broncos cheating on the salary cap during their Super Bowl years.

GRANNY’SCOUNTRY™
Diced ham, onions, celery, green peppers, American cheese and
cheese sauce. With hash browns inside and out.

I reject all the toast, pancakes and muffins. I will eat the breakfast potatoes tho'. Hold the Hollandaise cause theirs is yucky. Just the eggs or omelette and a carafe of black coffee.

Miracle whip for tuna salad and chicken salad. Mayo for everything else.

wazu 01-19-2015 10:33 AM

Grew up in a Miracle Whip household, but I have never purchased it or mayonnaise. I'm a mustard man.

Frosty 01-19-2015 10:44 AM

My dad doesn't like mayo or MW so we rarely had it at home growing up (pretty much only for potato salad). I thought it made burgers/sandwiches greasy so always ordered without mayo (still do).

My wife grew up with MW so that is what's in our house. I rarely eat it though as I don't have sandwiches very often. If I need some mayo type product though, I choose MW as it is considerably less fatty.

As for other condiments: ketchup (for fries only), spicy brown mustard, Kraft FF 1000 Island (amazing for tater tots and taco salads), soy sauce, Golden Mountain sauce and Thai peanut sauce.
