I was thinking Shawshank, Pulp, Schlinder's List, and Fight Club. |
So USA Today thinks we will go 6-10. If that happens we better get rid of Alex Smith, no excuses for that jackass this year.

This team will make the playoffs unless catastrophic injuries occur. The only question is are they gonna be a WC or will they finally win this ****ing division

The Chiefs aren't getting close to 11+ wins unless they have a repeat of 2013 where teams are trotting out 3rd string QBs on a weekly basis.
9-7 is the ceiling. 8-8 is the most likely scenario. The defense won't be as great as last year, and the offense won't be much different than the last two years. |

That's a really curious rating...a writer from NFL.com had KC @ #8. I dont think KC are world beaters yet...but they arent even close to the bottom 33%.
I mean they had the #2 ranked scoring defense and the NFL sack leader...#24 is reserved for teams rebuilding. |

But of course. I love to add that loss in to twist the knife a little. |
Like Reerun said, this Chiefs team's record says that they are the 24th best team during the second half of the season.
If they can un**** themselves, the league better watch out. |

At least they get a bump if the Jags shock the world... |
8-13 is a bag of hammered assholes.
At least 4 of them will be 20th or lower at the end of the season. There's no empirical reason for those rankings outside hype. You want a hot take, there's your hot take. |
49ers at 28? That whole list is trash. That's sad, that publication is where I've been getting ninety percent of my sports news from the last two years.
|
As far as I am concerned there are no excuses. Win at all costs. Deflate the balls, tape some practices, put bounties on Manning. I don't care just get it done.
|
WTF? Those rankings have the Cowboys at 18! There's no way that they can be that bad with that badass O line.

USA Today Has Chiefs At #24 In NFL Power Rankings

Really? Chris Borland retired, some scrub named Patrick Willis, and Justin Smith are gone. They fired Jim harbaugh, gone is Vic Fangio, Greg roman Michael Crabtree, and perrish Cox. Frank Gore is in Indy. Where should they be ranked? |
Still laughing at the OP... "I kinda like it, let them sleep on us" Sleep on us? You cant sleep on a team whos franchise has been asleep for the last 30 years...
No team has ever felt worried that they are waking the Chiefs... Nor has any fanbase.... |
I could care less about what some dork thinks team's power rankings are in May.

Rankings that use objective metrics, such as Jeff Sagarin's (oddly enough, which appear on USA Today) have ranked the Chiefs in the top 10 in the league in the last few seasons. His numbers take into account wins, strength of schedule, margin of victory...you know, the type of things that have actual predictive power unlike these popularity polls.
Chiefs were a top ten team last year despite a god-awful offensive line. If the line simply becomes league average, we'll be as good as any team in the league. Nobody wants to hear such stuff, though, because this board is full of anti-homer bed wetters. |

PECOTA predicted the Royals to have 72 wins and Grantland.com had them at #24 on the power rankings a year after going to game 7 of the World Series.
Yeah ... I'm sorry ... I don't take big market power rankings very seriously. Since Reid, the Chiefs have gone 11-5 and 9-7 (including wins against both Super Bowl contestants). This is the best roster Reid has had since coming to KC and suddenly we're going to be a bottom third NFL team? Riiiight. |

This team is way better than anything we've had for at least 10 years.
BUT, with the schedule fisting mixed with some bad breaks (Zona and SF anyone?), this team could easily go 8-8. Nobody knows. |

As Chiefs fans, if we can't be optimistic in May, when can we? It's all we have.

We're in the 14-16 range I'd guess. Pretty comfy spot for us. 24 is laughable.
