I thought Omar had a dinger there.

Going to be a thrilling game, from the looks of the first 2 innings.
Infante cannot be contained.

Infante tearing it up!

Slap a liner to right here
Ball in the gap or down the line and Dyson will be walking home safely.
Too bad dumb **** didn't take that walk by defensively swinging at ball four
Double here ties the game
I thought Esky was about to kill that shit.
Hanging spinner

His walk rate is down, K-rate is the same, he's inducing more groundballs, fewer line drives, and fewer flyballs. When he throws a ball outside of the zone and the batter swings, they make contact a lot less often than last year, but they hit stuff inside the zone more often. His SIERA and xFIP is almost the same as last year, where he outperformed his peripherals. I haven't seen him save for a few starts (once live). Is he really all that different of a pitcher? They all can't have the horseshoe-filled ass of Chris Young. |
Still gonna blame Rios on that. Terrible

That 3 MPH makes a world of difference. If Kelvin Herrera threw 95 he'd be useless. Last year, Ventura led baseball in pitches thrown over 98 MPH and led all starters in average MPH fastball This year? I guarantee he's way down. 95 is hittable. 99 takes luck. The difference between 90 & 95 is one thing, the difference between 95 & 100 is just HUGE |

He's gunning it now ... Maybe he's done with this "throw softer" bullshit
This series scared me because of the pitching match ups. Cole tomorrow is a loss. I was hoping for a win tonight so we'd have a chance on Wednesday to take the series.
this game is over
F*******.
98 over the heart of the plate.
This must be what it feels like to play against us when we're hitting well.

I've learned not to count the Royals out against ace pitchers this year |
If we just played 7 infielders in this inning, we'd have two outs.
No real command to finish guys, and some hard hit ground balls finding holes

Can we pick up Ho Kang so we can have Lo Cain and Ho Kang?
Ventura just sucks to watch this year. No command, mediocre secondary pitches, spike in velo ...
BS, he went.
56 pitches. 6 outs. 1 dude who should be in Omaha.

That's going to catch up with us sooner or later. |
He's a ****ing mental mess.
And he's mentally likely out of this.
Quote:
That would be nice to see. |
Quote:
That could account for some of it, but the increase in the value of his changeup has made him effectively the same pitcher. |
Looks like we're gonna need more than one SP in a trade.
Yodiva Ventura
People say this shouldn't matter, but Shields made such a difference in this staff. Ventura and Duffy have just not been as mentally sharp without him. Shields just set a good example by going out and grinding every start.
What is it with this team and having headcase pitchers come up through our system?
Yordana VenBUSTa
LMAO. If Alvarez was a 2nd round pick rather than the 2nd overall pick he would have been DFA'd years ago. He is so terrible.
