Goff is a bust.
I'm only saying that because the majority of time CP gets behind a QB prospect the results aren't very pretty - Smith, Sanchez, Clausen. |

Reid will forgo measurements and ability and pick the one that fits his system, so after he's fired in a year or 2 we're still stuck with Kevin Kolb.
|
Goff, Cook, Lynch or Boykin. Just pick one damnit!

However, I really hope he is. He seems like a great person. I have a friend who was taking photos on the field prior to the Iowa State game and he told me that the sincerity he showed to a little girl who has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheel chair (and is an Iowa State fan) prior to the coin toss had people in tears. Evidently, the guy was just wonderful. So I hope he is a legit NFL prospect, and if he is, I hope we draft him. |
**** Off for Goff?

He has the added benefit of not being favored by most of Chiefsplanet's awesome talent evaluators. |

Goff taking on UCLA in 25 minutes. If you will be watching Clay-- please make any possible erection creating GIFs.

Anyone just see him deliver that pass on 3rd and 8 jesus christ. I thought that Blitzer was going to clobber him.

Was pretty awesome.

Can't watch the scoreboard too much when evaluating these guys at the college level

WTF was Sonny Dykes thinking lol. 4th and 10 on your side of the field and you run it with your punter.
|
****ing sick play.. dude is having to make 2 guys miss to even make a pass.
|
Another dime with guys all around him.
|
Kid has nice touch making big time throws.
|
Nice back shoulder TD pass.
|
That fade was pretty on both ends.

I'm sold. Do whatever it takes. Tank, trade up, mortgage the future. Just do it

Saw some really nice things from Goff on that TD drive, especially the low throw for a 1st down when rolling hard to his right.
I still don't love the way the ball looks coming out of his hand, but his accuracy is impressive, and his ability to keep his eyes downfield while being rushed is a major plus. Becoming a bigger fan. |
That kicker has a leg.
|
He would instantly become one of the best QBs in chiefs history just by putting on a jersey.......

Third one: Ball hung up there for a while. Works in college, but is at best a deflection and at worst an INT against an NFL-caliber DB. This is where my concern about his arm strength comes in. |
I hear goff is a dick. People call him jerk goff

My only issue is that he looked really bad against an NFL caliber D line at Utah. He was pressured and threw some really bad balls for INTs.

What do you guys think about Rosen? Looks pretty damn good for a true freshman.

Rosen looks way better

Right now I'd say it's:
1. Lynch 2. Goff 3. Cook |
So what you're saying is Alex just needs more time to throw...

And Goff caps off a mediocre performance with another "Wow" play.
|
The word "dime" when referring to QBS needs to break apart in mid air
|
Boykin would have put up more points on UCLA.

I thought that Goff made some nice throws tonight. However, he's got some pretty good receivers he's throwing to (big, long dudes) in a system that's set up for massively elevated passing numbers. This was a UCLA team that just got the living shit kicked out of it by Stanford a week and a half ago. I don't know man...I still don't like his footwork. Nice feel for the pocket, but his touch on throws is off a lot and the ball comes off his hand weird. And while he has distance on his throws, the ball doesn't really drive to the receiver. Because of the system, I think he's as much of a project as a guy like Hackenberg. |
There's a lot more evaluating to be done going forward for all of these options. But I'm sorry... I just can't see Boykin succeeding in the NFL.

Tajh Boinkin' ladies and gents!

Regardless of who they (may) draft, it starts with fixing the line. Even Andy Dalton looks MVP quality with a good group in front of him. It's key for a rookie even more so.

Good QB play can make a avg line better and Bad QB play Alex smith Can make an avg line look like the worst in the NFL. |

Matt cassel took something like 45 sacks behind the same ol that brady takes 20 sacks behind. The difference also between cassels protection and ortons protection behind the same ol was night and day. Remember two years ago when 3 of Peytons ol was out and yet no team could touch him? It's because Peyton adjusted to get rid of the ball lightning quick. Rodgers has always done the same. Good qbs can slide in the pocket. They make fast reads and get rid of the ball quickly. They spot the hot read instantly and adjust the protections when they see the Blitz coming. They are actually dangerous throwing on the run, which extends plays. They throw deep to loosen up the pass rush and punish over aggressiveness. They do hard counts like Rodgers to keep defenses on their toes. They audible out of busted plays. I have almost never seen alex do ANY of these things. |

Nice article on possible landing spots for Goff, with KC at the #1 most likely spot. |
