Aaron Murray couldn't be any worse and would cost only a mid round rookie contract whereas Smith is costing us a franchise rate.

He has to do a better job.

He really doesn't hit "franchise money" until 2016 I don't expect Alex Smith will ever see his 2017 and 2018 money which is almost HALF of the total value of his contract. |

I believe a new regime would keep him around 1 more year even if they draft somebody. according to over-the-cap 2016 pre june 1st cut: $24,900,000 dead money and $7,100,000 cap hit 2016 after june 1st cut: $17,700,000 dead money and $100,000 cap SAVINGS 2017 pre june 1st cut: $7,100,000 dead money and $9,700,000 cap savings 2017 after june 1st cut: $3,600,000 dead money and $13,300,000 cap savings cap wise keeping him around a year with a QB draft pick makes way more sense |
Would require clark to cut him a big check

If we still don't have a plan than that's a problem whether AS is here or not. |

Smith is a solid Hasselbeck type mentor/clipboard holder at this point. They need to get the long term answer in here this next draft. |
It's ****ed up when your punter is your leader.

I dont think our defense was this much of an abomination.
The slow start to that year was due to some top tier pant shitting on the sideline by Randy. Once that issue was resolved, we went on a tear. He actually had a defense that could stop a busload of old women. There's just not anything that Andy can do here. Defense is not his thing. He has to be perfect on offense now. He has to understand the situation that if we plow into the centers ass for a 2 yard loss on 3rd n 2 when we have the best qb on the planet and a bevy of better options, and we fail, we are gonna be down another 7 points. He needs to cast aside his faith in the defense, but he wont. He has to be perfect, and he's not. Nobody is. Steve needs to un **** the defensive scheme or hit the bricks. We are surrendering 30 points per game. You aren't winning anything with that trash on the field. |

If it takes losing the turnover battle by 4-0 to lose to good teams, then the Chiefs will beat the bad teams without even significantly improving.
Just get hot at the right time and stay healthy. We’ll have a chance come playoff time. |

No that year was worse. At this point only the very top teams can run with us - if that’s because of our offense being massively stronger than it was under AS so be it. This weekend for example I think most of us expect to steamroll WFT and ultimately end up in the playoffs this year. We may well be a one and done but thats a different story. Not sure anyone believed we were capable of a winning record let alone the division at 1-5. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Mahomes ain't never going one and done.

In 2015 the Chiefs dropped to 1-4 after five weeks, with a terrible home loss at Arrowhead, and losing RB #25 to injury.
In 2021 the Chiefs dropped to 2-3 after five weeks, with a terrible home loss at Arrowhead, and losing RB #25 to injury. The difference in 2021 is Patrick Mahomes vs. Alex Smiff in 2015. |

BELIEVE? ROFL BELIEVE THIS - This team is NOT going to turn it around in time to change ANYTHING. This team is a hull of it's past self. We had an INCREDIBLE last 3 seasons and the NFL has figured it out - COVER 2! Gut the D in the off season and rebuild the D in 2 seasons.
Your playoff teams are these... AFC Bills, Ravens, Chargers, Titans - NEITHER of which the Chiefs could beat. NFC Bucs, Rams, Cards, Packers - NEITHER of which the Chiefs could beat. It sucks but it is what it is - WE SUCK! Thanks shitty D and thanks numerus TO's in the first 5 games. NOT HAPPENING! |

We could get it together. Will they do those things? I don't know. We went through a rough stretch in 2019. I've been preaching that you want to peak in Dec-Jan-Feb, not Sept-Oct-Nov |

a lot of dumb posts in this thread

I wouldn't go so far as to say the Chiefs suck; they do have some issues on defense that would be solved by a solid pass rush and better run stoppage. Right now, there's plays where the opposing team gets a pass and there's absolutely no one even in the picture for ten yards.
The turnovers have been bad, the inability to make a stop on defense to give some momentum to the offense is an issue. They don't suck, they just appear distracted and disinterested. |

Fool, NEITHER refers to two things. Thus, your argument is INVALID. Chiefs goin' all the way. |
