They quit giving it to players. They know give it to a little league of the players choice.

I think you are wrong, they said the truck is full of gear for a little league of their choice. Pretty sure they get the truck, not some random little league manager.

Correct, A little league organization, not a manager or an individual team get the gear.

Looked at world series stats, if we win tonight then the MVP is probably still up in the air, depending on what happens. Right now, most likely potential MVP candidates:

Gordon (Game 1 HR off Familia, 4/14, 4 BB)
Salvy (7/17, 2 2B)
Cueto (Game 2 CG Win)
Davis (Game 4 2-inning save)
Volquez (Depending on tonight)

KChiefs1 11-01-2015 12:23 PM

Just to refresh everyone's memory on what some experts thought:

Closer: Not enough is being written or said about what a fantastic job Jeurys Familia has done since taking over for the twice-suspended Jenrry Mejia. He saved a franchise-record-tying 43 games in the regular season and has been nails in October, pitching 9 2/3 scoreless innings and going 5-for-5 in save situations. But Wade Davis, with a 0.90 ERA going back to the beginning of 2014 (postseason included) is the best reliever in the sport, as evidenced again by his ability to retire possible MVP Josh Donaldson for the final out of Game 6.

Slight advantage: Royals

It's a perfect script with Volquez pitching tonight.
Go out there and get him an early lead and hardware will be brought back to KC.

mr. tegu 11-01-2015 01:58 PM

With seven strong innings or more from Volquez he would probably win MVP unless Gordon or Salvy has a big night. I am thinking Wade finishes the victory for us but I suspect by then the game is out of hand and we are just waiting to celebrate.

mr. tegu 11-01-2015 01:59 PM

I wonder if deGrom or Syndergaard are in play tonight.

His number's aren't huge but in all 3 of the Royals wins so far, the winning or tying runs have scored from a Hosmer at-bat.

I know Hosmer made a couple mistakes but make no mistake he should be on that list for MVP consideration he has made some clutch hits and plays. He is also a Sexymanbeast.

I have to miss large portions of this game tonight unfortunately. Couldn't get out of it. It sucks, but I'll keep updated as much as possible, and hopefully I'm done before the end of the 9th in case the Royals win.

The energy I'm getting from this forum and people today is just outrageous. People are really feeling that this is the night we're going to do it. I think this game has us in the best position to win compared to the two previous New York games.

I'm not worried at all if we don't do it tonight, and I'd KIND of like to see us do the whole thing and finish shit off in real time, but I just want the W period.

It's time. I can taste it.

KIND of feel the same way about them winning at home, and I'd more than likely go to game 6.... but yeah, finish it tonight.

I think you also have to look at Moustakas, who has put up good numbers at the plate, with some big hits at crucial times, and has made some outstanding defensive plays.

Insanity. Love the Royals but we're damn lucky not to be down 3-1. Let alone beating Houston.

It's not luck when it's happened consistently over a year and a half, plus the last half of the prior year.

Yep, and with how good the Royals have been defensively, you can say the Mets have been pretty lucky, too... seems like they've made more errors and dumb mental mistakes this series than the rest of the postseason, where as the Mets weren't exactly a great defensive team to begin with, from what I've read.

A lot of that washes out and you end up with the same relentless Royals team that we've watched for 200+ games.

milkman 11-01-2015 04:14 PM

He was comparing our offense to the 98 Yankees earlier this postseason. I don't think we're quite that good, and our starting pitching isn't as good as theirs. That 98 Yankees team won like 114 games during the season. We could've won more if we hadn't fell asleep in September, but still. We're better defensively and have a deeper bullpen, but the 98 Yankees were an all time great team.

I just want to say that like many of you, I have watched a lot of lousy baseball over the years. And had some expectations for teams that really weren't very good and were never really setup to be competitive. Now, we have probably the most complete team in all of baseball, and others want to emulate what we've been able to do. This has been so much fun, and I've enjoyed being part of it along with the entire Kansas City community, which includes places like St. Joe.

Thank you. Let's do this. Here's hoping in about 4 hours, we will all celebrate something that has been long overdue for all of us.
