Nope, just means the Natty Lighters save up for one game a year, and do it up right when they go. Its turned into a scorched earth People of Walmart sometimes.

Dallas charges $75 to park. They're the highest.

If a car of four people can't afford ten bucks each to park then you all need to get better jobs.

Mark Donovan responds to criticism:

Quote:

“I know everybody wants to talk about the revenue. What we’re focused on is the fans’ experience,” Donovan said. “Across the National Football League, the No. 1 issue for all sports teams in this league and most other leagues is parking and traffic — getting people in and getting people out. That affects the fan experience. What we’re trying to do is enhance that experience by being more efficient and simplifying them.

“We don’t want to sell $40 parking passes. We want you to (buy) in advance and get a $30 pass.”

The advance passes are available at the Arrowhead Stadium box office with no convenience fees charged, while passes sold on the Chiefs’ website or Ticketmaster will incur additional fees.

“There’s always been a convenience charge as long as there’s been a technology out there providing that convenience. … If you go to our box office right now and buy parking for whatever game you want or for the whole season, you pay no convenience charge,” Donovan said. “If you go to our website and buy directly through Chiefs.com and go to the link, you pay a much smaller convenience charge, but that’s exactly what it is. It’s standard across the industry. It’s not just the Chiefs.”

"We're raising prices to make it easier for you"

GFY, Mark. Parking at Arrowhead wasn't an issue until you stuck your nose into it.

Titty Meat 07-28-2016 01:22 PM

The Royals have shoved it up the Chiefs ass as far as popularity goes. It might work this year but another 4-12 season should just about do the franchise in.

Sully 07-28-2016 01:27 PM

I don't care that much about the prices. Prices rise. It's just a fact of life.

But it has been a worse experience for several years now. Slower to get in, slower to get out. More hassle on where you can park, splitting up long time friends. And now, for the reward for buying a premium parking pass, I may have to park out in the boonies if I don't get there early enough.

sedated 07-28-2016 01:30 PM

Yeah, let me just drive out to fuggin Arrowhead to avoid the $5 fee.

sedated 07-28-2016 01:33 PM

Seems like when they say "improve the fan experience" it means sending out the gestapo to hassle a bunch of grown adults about staying within the lines.

Succinct.

Again, paying for a Red pass vs paying at the gate is a savings of $82.50 assuming you buy online and go to all 10 home games -2 of which are preseason.

However, if you don't give a shit about preseason and pay at the gate eight times it costs you $320 whereas the pass for ten games is $317.50 with convenience fee included...

The red pass doesn't guarantee you any better of a parking location considering cash payers have access to everything not Gold or Platinum.

Assuming they don't raise the fee on a game by game basis and you don't give a shit about going to preseason games, just pay at the gate..

A bunch of minimum wage workers with God complexes make it their mission to fill every single slot regardless of where you actually want to park.

Red Dawg 07-28-2016 01:41 PM

I think Mark does outstanding work.

Chief_For_Life58 07-28-2016 01:42 PM

aslong as I can drink my busch light in our 2 combined tents with all the food and feexin's 3 hours before the game. I don't care. If you dont allow me of that privilege, there will be hell to pay

MMXcalibur 07-28-2016 02:21 PM

Watching from home is best anyways.

Hammock Parties 07-28-2016 03:28 PM

I will never, ever pay for parking at Arrowhead ever again.

Just gonna get a drop off/pick up at the Taco Bell and be done with it.

Guarantee they start doing this sooner rather than later. Actually surprised they haven't already. The so-called "dynamic pricing" model is a crock of shit. In my experiences, the prices never seem to drop for events that have low demand, yet they sky-rocket for big games. Completely one-sided.

A Taco Bell being the drop off spot for the sports complex might be the saddest thing ever.

It isn't the official spot. The tourism building and lot across the street from it is, but it is sometimes difficult for the cars dropping off to get back out onto Blue Ridge Cutoff when the police don't direct the flow properly. Sometimes it works great, other times the Taco Bell is just a better option for the driver.

Exactly.

Rain Man 07-28-2016 08:46 PM

It seems like the best solution would be for everyone to carpool to the game in taxis or ubers, and then have the city sell off the parking lots for office and residential development.

MMXcalibur 07-28-2016 10:30 PM

Pretty soon the Chiefs will have their "home games" played in Madrid, Moscow, Beijing, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Stockholm, and Yellowknife....so this whole "parking issue" will be a moot point.

There isn't nearly enough of an outrage created by the fact that there's only one team who is forbidden from giving up a home game out of a league of 31 other franchises.

We're going to be huge in Yellowknife.

One thing that makes the Chiefs a bit different than many teams is not only that they control all the parking around the stadium, they control the access to to those lots, and there's no competition. The Cowboys Stadium is at least in a busy entertainment district, and there are public streets, shopping areas, restaurants, all around the stadium. Yeah it still costs a lot of money... but with the Chiefs they have all the power.

I'm fine with it :)

mikeyis4dcats. 07-29-2016 03:12 PM

bet they start towing/ticketing the cars that park outside the gates on Manchester Trafficway side too...

Rain Man 07-29-2016 03:20 PM

For $40 you can buy a 60-inch TV and a 20-ounce Pibb Extra.

The connection between the team and the fans seems kind of distant. It seems like the Chiefs do everything to ruin the GameDay experience. It certainly isn't what it used to be. Meanwhile you take a look at what the Royals or SKC do its night and day.

For 40 x 10 games a year you could buy a nice 60' at the pawn shop.

I had the same set up in my '84 Cavalier but I had to go with the Pioneer SuperTuner. We couldn't afford such pleasantries like Kenwood.

Coming to the game Monday night!

Random question- I have platinum parking pass for lot E. The problem is I wasn't planning on driving to game as I am flying up from Montana(was going to uber) Does anyone know if Uber would drop you off in a lot? Or do they have to use the designated drop off? Is that lot good enough lot to where a fellow chiefs fan would want to pick us up from hotel to use the pass? Thanks

Rideshares can't get into the lots without paying, so they have to drop off over near Taco Bell.

Also, it's a cluster getting an Uber after, so prepare for a long wait and a lot of confusion finding your ride.

Getting to Arrowhead without renting a car is one of my biggest complaints about it. It just plain sucks.

Bowser 10-30-2024 05:17 PM

If you have a Platinum Parking Pass, it might be worth your time and the money to rent a car and go. You'll be parked right next to the stadium.

DaFace 10-30-2024 05:20 PM

I was a little confused by your last question, but are you asking if someone at CP would be willing to pick you up/drop you off in exchange for free parking? If so, I'd be willing to branch this out into its own thread for you to at least see if you'd get any takers.

58derrick56 10-30-2024 07:13 PM

Ya I do have a platinum pass. I have heard exactly what you mentioned that leaving after the game is a disaster!

Would totally take a ride to/from the game and we could use my pass if anyone would be interested in that. Staying at Hotel Phillips if their are any takers!
