kruger definitely worth bringing in for a look

Kruger would arguably be our 2nd best rusher at this point |

Plus, signing Kruger doesn't change the comp picks...would help Hali heal properly, send a message to Dee Ford...help the run defense and pass rush in the early part of the season.
I wonder why Hue cut him. |
Haha remember when Carl was the GM....a guy like Paul Kruger would be a major signing.
|
Kruger was making about $8m from what I saw. Money move, Browns are setting up next year. Not sure he'll be a vet min guy, teams will want him.
On another note, Geoff Schwartz was released. |

What did Flowers get with San Diego? About $3 million? Kruger wasn't as good as peak Flowers and Flowers had more in the tank when released than Kruger does, IMO. But Kruger will get in that general neighborhood, IMO. |
Offer Kruger vet minimum with some bonuses in there. Number of games started.....number of sacks.
Put him in Houston's spot. Hali and Ford can split reps 50/50. |

And if you base it on sacks when you have a guy in Ford you desperately want to see succeed plus Hali and a possible Houston return, he probably won't be eager to come on board. Especially not if you put him at the SOLB slot where his pass rush opportunities are likely to be substantially reduced over what he could manage on the weak side in this scheme. Kruger's probably not happening unless he really wants to come here and sees an opportunity for a below-market 'make good' deal that could propel him into next season's FA market. He has to know that the strong side isn't the best shot at that. |

It won't be with Kruger either, but it can be alot better in that he'd allow them to rotate ford and hali on the weak side and consistently pressure the qb. After this article (I'm probably reading to much into it) but I don't think Ford ever really turns into a difference maker. He may end up a good solid rusher, but I don't know about a truly elite player. That's fine, but we need more oars on board if that's the case in order to keep the boat moving. |

Kruger was paid too much for such little production. Yikes, Kruger's cap number was $7.7. They saved $6.5 by cutting him. |
Kruger had alot of pressures last year so it's not like he's useless.
54 total pressures last year from what I've found online . No clue how he's been vs the run |
If it were just a money thing whyd they wait til now? Seems like he's not a productive player. We don't have much cap anyway roll with what you got.

I just don't think they're going to be able to find the money to make it happen. They need to be very very careful in how they spend that 'found' Streater money, especially if they intend for him to be the #3 receiver. If he hits those incentives and we have to pay a cap tax for next season, if the money's been spent on Kruger, we make a precarious cap situation for next season that much worse. |

I think they could find the money with some restructures, but thats not always smart. |

Trade Ford to a 4-3 team and sign literally any other 3-4 rush backer.
|
People already labeling this guy a bust? C'mon now. We need to see what this guy does this season before officially labeling him even though it's not looking good.
How many people were shitting on Eric Fisher this time last year? Let's see how this plays out. |
