It's going to be very tough. I have this as a loss. They are coming off a bye week and know that they need this one.

Hope we win though

Bowser 11-14-2016 01:51 PM

I'll be the one to say it - Alex needs to play as well if not better than how he played in the second half of the home opener for us to have a shot at this game.

Good lord, most of you people are beaten down.

The Chiefs are on a 18-3 run. They beat the Broncos in Denver last year and can do it again this year with an improved defense and better perimeter weapons.

It's certainly not definitive but thinking they're just going to lie down is silly.

TEX 11-14-2016 02:05 PM

I would rather the road game not be prime time.

Again, the Chiefs should welcome the challenge if they're going to reach their aspirations of a Super Bowl this year.

If they shit the bed in three Prime Time games, then they're phonies.

If the Chiefs make the Super Bowl they should ask to have it moved to a 12 PM kickoff time at Arrowhead.

Nothing would make me happier. Also ban extra media from attending, have a bunch of jugglers do the halftime show and don't do commercials after kickoffs and no media timeouts.

Best Superbowl in forty years.

Alex played lights out before his first "concussion" against the Colts and we haven't seen that guy since.

I sincerely hope it was a combination of the injuries and missed practice time due to the precautionary measures.

That said, the end result may have been much different yesterday had the referee's called a Face Mask penalty when the Chiefs were near the Red Zone or had Wilson, Harris and even Kelce been able to hold on to well placed balls.

Foles was out of sync versus Jacksonville and now Alex was out of sync versus the Panthers. Andy needs to do something to get this offense clicking again.

But then Joe Montana marched the Chiefs down the field and threw the winning TD pass.

I still remember that game like it was yesterday.

My guess is that we'll see some highlights from that game on this Sunday night game, and it will be AWESOME.

Andy needs to get his play calling in sync with the actual game in front of him. Also needs to quit shitting his size 56 pants in the redzone.

Well, what most people have failed to recognize is that the Chiefs offensive "power outtage" coincides with the loss of LG Parker Enhinger.

They couldn't score a TD in Houston when Ehinger's was out and have difficulty running the ball as well.

The Chiefs signed Mike Person in late October (started 14 games last year for Atlanta) and hopefully, he gets a shot at the LG position and is an upgrade over Zach Fulton.

As well as Dorsey's done in the draft and free agency, Left Guard has been his albatross.

arrwheader 11-14-2016 03:26 PM

We always suck in prime time and Denver coming off a bye and @ Denver. If we play anything close to how we played on offense yesterday we are going to get blown out. If we are healthy and Alex smith doesn't miss 2 consecutive wide open guys in the end zone and just generally sucks like he did yesterday then we can get a win. I'm marking this as an L mostly because of the Bye for denver and the now prime time notion. I can't get excited for a prime time game after that Pitt game. Ugh.

NBC is going to love playing up the rematch angle. This has to be the first time two teams have played in prime time twice in the same season, and it's definitely going to factor into the marketing. Maybe the NFL will rig it to help us stay in the division race until Christmas!!!

Late night game in Denver or not...KC is a terrible match-up for them.

Everything the Chiefs excel at...is a Donko weak spot.

They have a shit o-line vs. Poe/Jones/Ford and presumably Houston. They cant pass protect or run the ball. They have no TE threat. The Saints had 5 sacks on Sunday.

Semen throws a lot of interceptions under duress...he's been lucky in few games where the defenders dropped multiple picks. Had two vs. NO. Chiefs are #1 in the NFL in takeaways.

KC doesn't throw deep negating the excellent corners they have...and their defense has trouble stopping the run.

Denver has lost in both prime time games this season...

I believe you wanted to say that 2 of their 3 losses were in prime time and they are 2-2 overall this season in prime time.

The bye comes at a good time for them, they need to get a few guys healthy. It's by far from a gimme game, both teams are going to have their challenges and KC is going to present several for Denver.

Years like this year are interesting because if the AFCW sends 3 teams, those last 2 are the WC's ... and one likely faces a Houston. Houston is an underdog in that one.

TimeForWasp 11-15-2016 06:49 AM

It's tragic, really. Smith has one fewer game played at this point.

Passing yards per game, they are ranked 27th and 28th with Smith having a +1.3 yards advantage.

INTs = Smith has thrown 3 and Siemian 7
TDs = Smith has thrown 8 and Siemian 12

One guy is about $19.5M more against the cap.

BlackOp 11-15-2016 03:54 PM

I was more worried about the Panthers game than this one...they have better inside LBs.

KC has the #1 defense in 2nd half points allowed. Donkos have lived off scoring in the 4th quarter. They just blanked Carr and Newton in the 2nd half on the road. I think Semenboy gets rattled in this one...Peters takes away 1/2 the field so who are they going to throw to? If they test him...he's going to get his.

KC will be on point this game ESPECIALLY after what happen against the Steelers.

This.

Legitimately thought Carolina was the hardest game left on the schedule. Also why I haven't dogged on Smith as bad as most have. I expected a shit game Sunday given the matchup + coming off of injury.

We match up well with Denver IMO.

These arent opponents like Carolina or Jacksonville...where they see each other every 4 years. KC controlled both games last season...and your team has taken a step back on the defensive side. milkman 11-16-2016 06:12 AM

The Bronco offense has little chance of moving the ball consistently against the Chiefs defense, but if Alex doesn't step up his game, and if Andy insists on putting the ball in the air rather than attacking the middle of that Bronco defense with Ware and West, the Chiefs have little chance of moving the ball against the Broncos.

This game will most likely come down to which defense makes the bigger plays, and I like the Chiefs in that scenario.

I don't much care about the Chiefs history in prime time games.

But in my perfect world, the Chiefs would play all their games at 10 am PT.

We'll know shortly. Both have serious issues on offense and both have strong defenses that have had streaks of injury concerns. Suggesting that either is really all that much better than the other at this point is like pissing in the wind, quite honestly.

Both teams have 7 wins… and neither has defeated more than 1 team with a winning record so far. That’s somewhat interesting.

Common opponents – both beat the Panthers, Colts, Chargers, Saints.

Broncos beat Texans, Chiefs lost. Chiefs beat Raiders, Broncos lost. (Broncos have played Chargers twice and split, KC has only played them once at this point)

Both teams are 3-2 on the road.
Chiefs are 2-0 in the division, Broncos are 1-2.
Chiefs 5-2 vs AFC, Broncos 4-2.
Broncos 3-1 non-conf, Chiefs 2-0.

Broncos 7-3
Beaten: Panthers (3-6), Colts (4-5), Bengals (3-5), Bucs (4-5), Texans (6.3), Chargers (4-6), Saints (4-5)
Lost: Falcons (6-4), Chargers (4-6), Raiders (7-2)

Chiefs 7-2
Beaten: Chargers (4-6), Jets (3-7), Raiders (7-2), Saints (4-5), Colts (4-5), Jags (2-7), Panthers (3-6)
Lost: Texans (6-3), Steelers (4-5)

Semen isn't very good not them as a team. They are hardly bad.

Siemian has issues, no doubt and the OL let him get beat up last week... but overall, he's not played that badly when you consider the body of work. Siemian's YTD numbers outperform a number of QBs that would be considered more legit and he's not playing with a great OL or a ground attack that's been too incredibly consistent.

It's a miracle they've won 2 games.
