So your defense of the offense is to emphasize the fact that they're below average in points scored while the defense is one of the best in points allowed?
Seriously?! That's true genious! |

I don't give a shit about stats my eyeballs tell me Alex Smith sucks.
I don't enjoy watching him play for my favorite team. At the same time I enjoy many other players on this team to make it worth watching so **** off those who tell me stop watching if I don't like it. I don't like Alex Smith sucking the life out of this team and that's what he does. |
I don't understand why people go to such extremes to try and defend a mediocre QB.

WTF do we have to believe in this guy just because Andy Reid and company thinks so? We've seen this story so many times and know the ending well. |
This defense has played against some of the best offenses and quarterbacks in the league and on the other hand this offense has played against some of the shittiest defenses this league has to offer. I don't see a wash in that.

Five years straight the Chiefs have been eliminated from an AFC West title. Four years of the same offensive and defensive schemes.
The defense has been responsible for half of the team wins this season and has only been blown out three times in two seasons. Theyve done their ****ing job. Now, we have an offensive head coach and handpicked players selected by said head coach at EVERY offensive position. They're not staying on the field consistently enough to put up points. They are not doing their job. Five years straight of maxing out as a wild card team and not at all a realistic division championship threat. We deserve better. |

Kansas City is behind Cleveland on 3rd down conversion percentage.
Cleveland. 35.6% of 3rd downs have been converted this year. You cannot blame the defense for that. |

Also third and two on their own 40 yard line shotgun formation draw play for a loss in the backfield. WTF what the **** what the **** what the ****. If a fan watching it on tv can say out loud what the play is going be then the defense is surely going to snuff that play out. Two freaking yards and we think we can fool them with a draw play. Get the **** out of here. |

So you're totally fine with the notion that the offense fails 66% of the time at it's job of staying on the field.
Totally ****ing fine with that. Unreal. |
The two things that can be fixed down the stretch: 1) the run defense (routinely ranked in the bottom five for over 2 years and running) 2) the red zone TD% (formerly ranked in the top third, currently in the bottom third)
Here's hoping we can get healthy.. |
Until we can stop the run we are toast. Bucs running game opened up their passing game and why they converted so many 3rd downs. Even IF Peters plays yesterday IMHO we still lose. Our defense flashes but is not consistent.
Andy's play calling is much of our problem on offense IMHO. Bucs just flat out manhandled us, far more physical than we were for sure. Their o-line dominated our d-line. After the first two drives of the Bucs I knew it was going to be a long day because you could see they had their confidence and were not intimidated by Arrowhead whatsoever and especially not by our d-front that got gashed and passed on all day. |
I never did buy into the AFC West being the toughest division talk. What the Falcons did to Denver in Mile High just a few weeks ago is what the Bucs did to us yesterday.
Chiefs and Raiders are full on paper tigers and Denver is half a paper tiger only because their D is that good especially their 2ndary. I don't care what the records are because they will be exposed in the playoffs assuming maybe all 3 make it. Yes I realize there is still a lot of football to be played but I just don't have a good feeling coming down the wire. Yesterday really exposed the Chiefs weaknesses that I don't think can be fixed. |

Mitch Schwartz must be a complete idiot since he agrees the offense isn't cutting it: “I think the last few weeks, it feels like the offense hasn’t, really, done it’s part in terms of putting up the points that we need to and being able to get our defense in good situations and letting those guys rush. We need figure out why that is and work on it this week and get better.” |

My problem is people saying Smith wasn't a problem this past weekend. His pick was a huge problem. The defense did a poor job getting the Bucs off the field, but at the end of the day held them to under 20. Not great, but with a halfway decent offense at home, it gives you a shot at winning. Except KC doesn't have a decent offense and if the D doesn't have a great game then everything becomes their fault. This was the year the offense was supposed to help carry the D for a change. Instead KC has a head coach who still can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag in the red zone, who still has no clue regarding time management and a starting QB who leaves a lot to be desired other than his sole redeeming quality of "protecting the ball." |
Geez the dense can't have one less than perfect game yet the offense can have 9 or 10. The ridiculousness is astounding.
