But at the same time, there is something inherently satisfying with not only winning the game, but stomping your opponent into the ground. I think that's WHY everyone drools over the Tom Bradys and Peyton Mannings of the world - they have the capability to not only win, but make their opponents look foolish in doing it. When we watch Alex and Andy do their thing, we really enjoy the wins, but it almost feels like the end of a UFC fight that went five rounds but ended in a tight judges' decision. A win is a win, but an epic uppercut knockout sure would have been more fun. Anyway, I'm definitely more of a "wins matter than style points" kind of guy, but I acknowledge that those who are sick of HOW the Chiefs play the game right now aren't completely insane. |
Damn. 13 guys that made it as either pro bowlers or pro bowl alternates.
That's gotta be tops in the league, right? |

I can't imagine anyone that is really paying attention to the Chiefs right now has any illusion in their heads that they can make a dent in the playoffs, particularly the way this offense is performing. |

For the regular season.. being conservative and going 10-4 is hard to really bitch too much over. Painful, yes. Effective? clearly yes. Come playoff time, they need to not **** around. No more BS. The Patriots and Colts playoff game have GOT to resonate through Andy's mind. TAKE THE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. If Andy does the same shit in the playoffs... and they lose?!? That, to me, says a meltdown CP party of defeat seems... appropriate. |
Alex Smith just isn't that enjoyable to watch he isn't that good but he does enough to get by with the team doing all the heavy lifting.
I believe more times than not Chiefs have won games in spite of Alex Smith. Also everyone thought Rex Grossman was a shitty quarterback but he got (his defense willed) the Bears to the Super Bowl so anything ANYTHING is possible. Remember from the fifty anything is possible. |

Anywho, I'm just going to chalk this up to, "we tried to get some QB's to come play this stupid game, but most of them said "**** you, I'm going on vacation with the family after the season is over". Yep; that's what we're going with over here. |

I'll DVR it so I don't have to watch Alex embarrass the uniform. If he gets in..
Actually I'm not sure it's worth using up space on the DVR, I'm down to 60% free space. |

I think some of you guys would blow your brains out if Alex won a SB. :) |
Quote:
I think most of us know that with Alex behind the wheel and Andy calling the shots, it might be a very short ride if of D and special teams don't score a lot. But many of us hope we're wrong and we win the SB. Edit: And no, nobody's going to blow their brains out. |
Quote:
Some of the people here seem to really hate seeing Alex Smith succeed, maybe because they don't want to be proven wrong, or because they just hate Smith that much. The "blow their brains out" was obviously (and intentionally) hyperbole, but I believe there are plenty of people here that wouldn't be happy. The more we win and the more successful we are the more angry they seem to get. |

Dude, you seriously have the absolute worse, and most negative, football takes here. I have literally never seen you say anything positive about the Chiefs at all. |

And what I fear more is that people think our wins come from him being good instead of despite him pretty-much being the anti-Brady. And I don't fear him succeeding, I'd love to see him turn around, but I fear one or two decent plays being billed as him being a great QB. At best he was a great game manager, but this year has proven that he's not a lot of that anymore either. |

Reid and Dorsey have kept the team competitive which is fun It sucks so many pro bowl invites went to KC because the NFL is rigged and that means we will be out of it by pro bowl ROFL |

The bolded part reminds me of this scene: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dzaL8wiSjnM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And I don't think they're setting-up anything, that's just an excuse for not ever actually running the play. Let's hope Andy just read this and is angered into action and actually tries it. |

Good for Smith - he's earned it!
|
In fact he's SOOOOO earned it he should show up early for the game. Can we agree to him showing up Saturday and getting some extra reps in before the rest of his team gets there? Hell, take the family Alex, have sand sex with your beautiful bride!
|
I want Smith to succeed. I really, really do. I don't like admitting that the Chief's QB has real limitations that they seemingly can't overcome when they need it the most and get them over the hump. By all accounts, Alex is a great ****ing guy and I hate to feel like he just doesn't have it in him to ever win a championship here. I hope he comes out the next two weeks, lights it up, and carries that all the way through the playoffs. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Un less we win the AFCCG or Superbowl. This season is another shitty QB waste like many of the last season's. |
I haven't watched a Pro Bowl in years. Is it still tackle or touch/flag football?
|
Wow this guy is going to continue to haunt this franchise for what? 3 or 4 more seasons? ****.

This game should have been sold out before the season ever started. Instead, you can likely walk right up to the box office Sunday night and sit wherever you want. |

If it were Christmas Day, sure. But honestly no excuses for a game that has division and HFA implications against our biggest rival to still have a LOT of seats available. |

Nice. A Christmas afternoon sellout for two teams with nothing to play for.
