I agree. Pretty sure he will get between 13m and 14.5m per year. Im really not a fan of giving him that much money but it is obvious he won't settle for less.

Hog's Gone Fishin 02-27-2017 06:07 PM

Once again , when you're rich as ****, as Berry is , you need to humble yourself down to be a good employee. Tom Brady is a perfect example when he stated "We all make more than our fair share"

The Franchise 02-27-2017 06:07 PM

My guess would be $13.5 million a year.

Hopefully you're being facetious here.

The Chiefs are gonna overpay for Berry.

Red Dawg 02-27-2017 06:50 PM

I always wanted to keep him but he's bending us over for certain. He shouldn't but he is.

Look on the bright side:

The QB position will remain unchanged!

I'm pretty sure Dorsey knows better than any of us what we can and cannot do money wise with Berry. Chill out. Dorsey is not letting the Chiefs get "bent over".

Yeah right. Fans have already been bent over bringing back Smith. It's a damn Pioli like blunder. This franchise is cursed to hell with HC's and GM's never making the right decision at QB.

They just said (on nfln) that a deal between KC and Berry is getting "closer by the minute" and that it's more $ than honey badger.

He needs to go to a 4-3 team. If he continues on a 3-4 D with these doubles, it's going to kill his back and his career. Let him walk to save his career.

The Bad Guy 02-27-2017 10:29 PM

Honestly, Poe hasn't been truly great since the first year Sutton got here. I think the money we'd save on him could be put elsewhere.

I'm gonna say 4 or 5 year for 13-15 MIL per year. The deal is done by the way. He's a Chief for a long time.

ClevelandBronco 02-27-2017 11:48 PM

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...arry-arrested/

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle David Parry was arrested early Saturday morning in Scottsdale, Ariz. on suspicion of robbery, auto theft, criminal damage, resisting arrest and driving under the influence, via a report from Holly V. Hays of the Indianapolis Star.

Parry, a fifth-round pick of the Colts in 2015, allegedly hit a man on the head before stealing his street-legal golf cart. Police found Parry on the sidewalk, apparently intoxicated, after he crashed the cart into a gate. The alleged victim was using his cart as a taxi to take people home from a bar when Parry allegedly hit him and stole the vehicle. He was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Parry has started every game for the Colts over the last two seasons. He’s amassed 78 tackles and four sacks over that span.

I just want Poe to go to the highest bidder.

Make sure we get a nice comp pick for him next year.

I will raise my price to average of 11 mil per year. Any more than that and we got screwed so basicly today we should learn how bad we got screwed.

Once the back injuries start, they don't typically go away.

KranzDictum 02-28-2017 01:31 PM

This is how I thought it would play out.

Signing Berry is a great move, he deserves to be chief for life. Great players get paid.

I don't see how you guys can afford to sign or franchise Poe after the Berry deal. I know Charles got cut but you are right up against the cap, have the young NT behind Poe and need to draft or sign edge rushers and some CB's at the least.

Congrats on keeping Berry.

Let's see...holds up at the point of attack. He creates interior pressure and commands double teams....I mean that is WTF you want in a DT/NT. If you're looking for high sack and tackle numbers out of a big body like that, then you might be disappointed frequently.

RunKC 02-28-2017 01:33 PM

Poe is an elite pass rushing DE. He's fantastic on passing downs in the nickel.

Run defense is a bit shoddy though.
