They were doing the thompson test on the field, which tells you they immediately suspected an achilles injury. Guessing they will do imaging on it tomorrow, but if the information leaking out is based on a positive test and he needs surgery, then you are looking at 6 months.

I've said it multiple times. KC has a HUGE issues with their strength and conditioning staff/medical and training staff. The teams injuries every year are like no other. Would love nothing more than to see Rick Burkholder

Can anyone who has the game recorded cross-reference here? Was the Peters humping after Berry's injury or not?

I dunno about achilles, but partial tears usually heal without surgery.

not with the Achilles. Little to no blood flow to this tendon so they don't really repair themselves. Possibly PRP could work but is still considered experimental .

Yes, refer to Kobe Bryant making two free throw with a tear.

They might shut him down and put him in a boot for 6 or 8 weeks and hope it heals on its own. They did this with Houston's knee in 15, hoping to get him back by playoff time, even though he clearly wasn't healthy when he came back. Surgery would mean IR.

With how many problems with his heel, and how long he has dealt with it, would be a miracle if it were minor.

A miracle here would be nice.

On TV it was way after. The Peters hump was right at the end of the game. So unless they were saving the video for some reason, Berry was back on the sideline. But I guess it's possible that they could've saved the video from an earlier shot.

Hate to say it but I think he's done, period. The Chiefs will probably look for other options next year. Berry is injury prone. And his playing style doesn't lend itself to long-term health.

And now this.

That's a lot of major shit for a team to sit there and say "yeah, we'll just pencil him in next year without a quality insurance policy."

I expect they'll give him every chance to rehab and win his spot back, but there will probably be someone brought in for competition/starter-quality backup.
