Starting smith only hurts our chances of getting anything in return for him in a trade. It’s looking now like we get jack and they cut him.
No brained to start Mahomes. But Andy is frustrating as hell and won’t. I won’t watch anymore till he’s gone

Buzz 11-19-2017 03:54 PM

Yep, play the kid.

not really at all. Mahomes has pocket presence something Alex doesnt have. We are playing some really bad teams at the end of the season. Right now, is the perfect time for him to play.

Im sick and tired of watching Alex not even throw to wide open receivers. It happens way way way to damned much.

We see how good this team looks with plus QB play.

Maybe, just maybe, it's the spark we need.. I wouldn't expect it but there's valuable game time reps to be had here against some inferior defenses.

Yes. I want him thrown right into the mix. Sitting on the bench and watching Alice limp dick us to 10-6 and a first round playoff loss isn't going to benefit him any more than doing that exact same thing on his own.

Except he might actually give you a shot to win that playoff game by not being a robotic dipshit that can't get out of his own head.

He gave it all he had today. Wreckless dives for first downs that could have started the Mahomes era, but Alex just doesn't have what it takes for this team.

The lines are both soft 75% of the time and without Eric Berry, the defense is weak.

Alex Smith is not a top 10 qb that can take up the slack.

I think Mahomes would light a fire on both sides of the ball.

We need to get going on the Mahomes era

I agree that the pass pro was mainly not the problem. There were some penalties that hurt. They also had a lot of trouble in the run game again. HUnt had a few decent runs to help disguise this.. but Hunt and the run game was mostly not effectively balancing the offense yet again.

Balancing what offense? Balance would mean that your worthless savior of a QB actually did something.

Yep. The two go hand in hand. If Smith was playing with the same poise and aggressive as the first month of the season, the running game would be having more success.

Last 5 Games Alex is:

1-4 Record
61.7% Completion Percentage
7.3 ypa
90.25 QB Rating

Take away the Raider game and he’s:

1-3 record
59.7 Completion Percentage
6.7 ypa
80.53 Passer Rating

Before the season I felt that Mahomes was the best QB on our roster. The first 8weeks of the season, Smith seemed to be the best. Those 8 weeks were a fluke. Time for Mahomes, unless Reid is looking at recouping a first assuming Alex can pick up his level of play

Hammock Parties 11-19-2017 04:18 PM

I was against it completely until next year.

But you literally have nothing to lose at this point.

If Mahomes has been playing well in practice, just start him.

Graystoke 11-19-2017 04:19 PM

Yep,
Do it. Alex was just doing a Jedi mind Trick the first 5 games. The real Alex has surfaced and it is bad as ever.

thegame214 11-19-2017 04:21 PM

What about all the development and wisdom from riding the bench he's gonna miss out on?

Kidding. Start em and print em.

he isnt going to change the 9-7 or 8-8 ending we are headed for. He will get some experience but it will be to mold him to Andy dink show. He should sit, fire Andy and some others and hire new coaches to give the kid a real chance

The intent is to provide fans with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different kinds of disappointment.

As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the last 30 seasons and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player hope-to-disappointment rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that fans have hopes that are compelling, rewarding, and of course unattainable via gameplay.

We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Chiefsplanet, our forums and across numerous social media outlets.

Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and disappoint everyone as soon and as often as we can.

What's the BEST we could do with Alex Smith? Marginal division champion, MAYBE one playoff win? That's questionable at this point.

If you believe Pat can deliver, at a minimum, the same performance at QB as Smith then there is nothing to be gained by him sitting on the bench.

If you don't believe he can do that, then I would assume you haven't actually watched any of these games over the last month or so.

Dayze 11-19-2017 04:51 PM

If we put in Pat we might lose at home during the wild card round!

Sassy Squatch 11-19-2017 04:52 PM

Do it if only to put some of the fear back into Smith that seemed to propel him to actually play like a winning NFL QB.

I'll watch the rest of the year. I'm not gonna act like I won't and then still tune in like all the anthem pussies out there.

I'll watch the playoff game too if they have one. But I know I am watching a sinking ship, so I'll adjust my expectations accordingly. Unless Captain Pat can swing by and save the day, then I'll let myself dream a little bit.

Shaid 11-19-2017 05:34 PM

yep, it's time to make the move. If anything they can just say the team needs a spark but let's be honest, we've seen 5 games of horrible performance out of this team. It's not a SB team this year. Use these games to get Mahomes the experience. Trade Alex in the offseason. Profit.
