It just comes down to what we have up to get mahomes and what we know Alex Smith is. After Sunday’s loss no one can rationally say that Smith deserves to keep his job. My god that was some Tyler Palko shit stain QB play.

Anyway the future is Mahomes, no disputing it.. I think at this point it’s totally rational to give Mahomes the keys now. He’s going to learn and get better might as well get a jump start on it now. Alex isn’t winning us shit but regular season games and he’s showing that he’s not even capable of that. You’ve got a loaded cannon and the fort is being overrun. Fire away god damnit.

That's the way I see it.

**** Peters.

Have you watched Desmond Trufant play tonight? He is a tackling machine, plays lights out and is not above the dirty deed of tackling. He made two stops in a row by himself, both tackles.

All of our QBs should be looking spectacular against this defense.

So you’re telling us tha Mortenson flew to KC every week and watched practice?

These guys work on tips and sources.

Local sources appear to dispute that report, unless the source is basing it on 12 snaps a week.

Probably Teicher.

Please, enlighten us and explain.

GO AWAY! MAHOMES IS ALREADY A CHAMPION! HE CAN SCORE TWO TDS WITH ONE PASS!

Are you still singing that sad-assed tackler's blues number? That is SO yesterday.
What would you like to bet that Peters' on field "shortcomings" begin to disappear once Mahomes takes the reigns of this team?

I'm not entirely sure if you're serious...

Wasn't Mort the one way back when that broke the news that Shannarat was the new HC for the chiefs? And didn't that result in a media frenzy on the mothership that concluded a journalistic embarrassment?

My sarcasm meter might be off though...

Alex plays offense and peters defense. Peters is in control of his own job and he’s been beaten repeatedly and has repeatedly tried to tackle the ball and not the guy. The entire secondary is a liability. Your statement would make more sense i you said watch when berry is back and you’ll see peters improve as berry effects peters job, positively.

I would imagine that he is playing pretty uninspiring football right now, yes?

I would also imagine that he is not very shy about expressing his feelings in regards to his offensive counterparts. And why the **** SHOULD he hold back? What have those two-bit shits done for the team this last 5 weeks?

And you can blather about "professionalism" or "patriotism" all day long; if this is a "team sport" as so many Smith-loving window-lickers love to proclaim, then why should Peters' defensive unit in this team be responsible for propping up a gasping, wheezing horse-ass of an offense, LED by a horses ass of a QB?

If that is his attitude it is a horrible one. When Mahomes, not if, has a bad game or two then we would have to expect that Peters would start intentionally playing lesser than he is capable of because he feels defeated and is giving up based on his teams QB play. That is not how a true PROFESSIONAL should operate.
Peters needs to start tackling because that is what is needed and required to play that position properly.

JohnnyHammersticks 11-20-2017 09:57 PM

In terms of who's going to play quarterback, the only person on earth less prone to take a calculated risk or think outside the box than Clark Hunt is Andy Reid. That's why barring injury Alex is going to quarterback the next 6 or 7 games. And it's why Andy will be coaching this team until he retires or has one too many ham sandwiches.

The outstanding news is that in only 6 or 7 more games, the 8-year Shit-Castle Era will finally be nothing but a terrible, nauseating memory.

I am a self confessed Peters apologist, but I have to agree with your point on his awful attempts at stripping the ball...

Someone needs to sit him down and explain how dumb that strategy is; you can't always hit a home run bud, sometimes you just make the play needed in a scenario...

Dude he needs to worry about his own play and take care of his own short comings before worrying about anyone elses. If he acted more like Berry or Houston, as far as being mature, then he would be able to speak his mind to his teammates and you know what they would listen. The way it is he can't speak his mind because of his immaturity and play.

Can we not just be excited to see our QBOTF perform? He has talent out the ass and we want excitement dammit. Nobody is anointing him a HOFer, we just know we're ready to move on from wobble launcher 2.0

And on almost all of them, the open receiver is visibly frustrated. They are over this shit.

Why can't you just be happy and excited for the future of the QB position in Kansas City instead of worrying about posters who get ahead of themselves?

Do you not want Mahomes on this team? Would you rather we stayed at 27 and not gone with a QB? Did you want us to draft a QB at all?

Well, if you did like our QB pick, then be ****ing happy and stop being so obsessed with other people. Alex Smith is going to be gone after this year. That's cause for celebration enough, but not only that, we get to watch our handpicked drafted 1st round QB develop before our very eyes, something we haven't had a chance to do since 1983.

Or do you not like nice new and interesting things?

KCrockaholic 11-20-2017 10:41 PM

Yeah, and you're concerned about people getting TOO excited over the first ****ing 1st round QB drafted by KC since 1983.

Yet when people have told you in the past couple years to temper YOUR enthusiasm for the Chiefs because we had no proof they could go the distance, that was baaaaad.

Just another example of the team player he isn't. He thinks he is above it all and smarter than everyone else.

No, because he sounds like someone lecturing a younger person on how "back i my day, we just gritted our teeth and did our jobs. It wasn't a game. We wore leather helmets and hit people and didn't let out any emotion"

Peters is emotional. He's not a ticking time bomb though. And in that particular game, with as bad as NY was playing, he was right to be pissed off at Alex throwing an interception.

As well they should be. Read on.

It is this, and it is to be found in MANY of the holdout Smith supporters:

They simply cannot FATHOM that the Chiefs way of regurgitating the position for so many decades could be wrong. If Mahomes lights it up and succeeds, the war of ideals/agendas is over. Finished. Blasted straight to hell in one draft pick, and 30 years of shit football hangs upon their necks as supporters of that putrid way of building a team.

It's as simple as that.

Just another example of the team player he isn't. He thinks he is above it all and smarter than everyone else.

We just need him to do his job, all of it.

I'm saying that iron sharpens iron, and that currently the Chiefs are employing an aluminum can at the QB position. In case you haven't noticed, these players tend to feed off of each other.

Well, that was my point from the get-go if you read my posts in the Mahomes/Alex threads.

So, applying that point that we both agree on, having a defensive player that refuses to tackle has the same effect on the rest of the team.

I truly believe that Peters is part of the biggest problem with this team.

I asked you earlier, did you watch Trufant tackle last night for the Falcons? He is a LEGIT super star CB. Not a spoiled crybaby that can't control himself.

He has not played at his usual pro bowl level, but that's nuts to think he's even close to the biggest part of the problem. The biggest problem is players like Alex and Gaines who aren't executing. Period.

Of course his play is uninspired right now because of what is going on but that's a problem in itself. We need Peters to be picking up the rest of the team not dragging down further because he's pissed.

Peters is like Randy Moss, when things are going great he's elite but when things go badly he pouts. When his team starts losing he quits. Now to be fair, Peters is still young and can still grow up and change. Right now he is still a pouty child.

Everybody acts like our entire future rides on what we may or may not get for Alex. **** HIM. I don't care if we don't get SHIT.

You can't discuss any player but Alex Smith so there isn't any point in talking with you.

Rage on.

There is a difference between "part of the biggest problem" as I said, and "the biggest part of the problem" as you said.

Obviously, this team has moral problems, motivation problems or something similar whatever you want to call it

Is part of it Alex Smith? I think so. Is part of it Peters? I think so. So both of them are part of the biggest problem.

Gaines, I have no ****ing idea why he is still on the team.

He is quitting on tackles. But I've seen nothing to show he's quitting in coverage. He hasn't been as good but not nearly as bad as people think. Not an easy job to cover as long as the defense asks him to.

I dunno, every Chiefs loss has been a pretty close game and he has helped put a lot of points on the opposing teams board.

How many PI calls he has gotten in the endzone or inside the 10 now? 3?

Alex deserves all the shit he is getting, that doesn't mean Peters doesn't deserve the shit he is getting. Both can be under performing, its not an either or scenario.

Kelce is widely considered a top 3 TE.....and he goes entire portions of the game without being targeted.

Hill is the top deep threat in the league....and only gets like 1-2 deep looks a game.

Robinson tore it up in the preseason with Mahomes and now just rots at the #2 spot.

And lastly our offensive line gets shit on.....because Smith gets happy feet and runs into sacks.

you got numbers to back up your statement?:BS:

Yes the hell he has. I don't know wtf people are watching...or maybe his protests and antics have gotten to people's heads, but his coverage has been mostly excellent.

Even when he seldom gets beat he's contesting in coverage. He's still creating turnovers.

Separate his antics from his play in coverage.

Peters is the 40th rated CB by PPF right now I belive, he was top 5 last year.

Now argue the merits of PFF but the same people using the same metrics have dropped him around 30 spots.

He is getting way too many penalties as well.

Like I said, I think his coverage has been mostly good. Not as good as last year, but I think pass rush has a lot to do with that. Where he downgraded was tackling. I never thought it was a big problem before, but it's definitely bumped him down. But yes, theres definitely an overreaction to how he's played and he's certainly not even close to our biggest of problems. Gaines getting beat like a drum consistently is a hell of a lot more of an issue than peters tackling.

Can we knock off all this Peters shit and get back to ridiculing Alex please?

Peters is emotional. He's not a ticking time bomb though. And in that particular game, with as bad as NY was playing, he was right to be pissed off at Alex throwing an interception.

wow, inexperienced at life much?

He's young and hot-headed for sure. And yes, he could use some cotton in his mouth while the ears are wide open and listening to Coach Thomas. Hopefully, he'll grow and mature.

But is he the "biggest problem"? Sweet God no! In fact, that simply does not cut mustard in any conceivable way that you might like to slice it.

And lastly, if I'm not watching KC, I'm sure as hell not watching anyone else.

Not at all. Plenty experienced.

Just don't get the ticking time bomb BS with Peters. As someone posted earlier, the original post read like "get off my lawn youngin"

JfC can you people not read!? I said he was part of the biggest problem, I didn't say he was the biggest problem. There is a huge difference.

This team has issues, not just talent issues. Like Alex, Peters is part of that issue.

I'm not an old person but I think he was onto something. Peters needs to learn to handle a little adversity. Look, I admire his passion and determination. But he is getting paid to play his best and he's not even doing that lately. And I do believe it is quite possible that this whole thing blows up; that he blows up. Hell, we saw that earlier this year in Houston when things were still going well, or rather, the Chiefs were still winning. He needs to grow up. Plain and simple.
