He couldn't run the Spider 2 Y Banana

JakeF 10-16-2018 02:57 PM

He would be our best tackler by a long shot. He also knows how to blitz.

I mean, they're right.

His legs ARE gone.

But at the very least he'll know where to stand. The linebackers complete inability to be assignment sound is leading to coverage breakdowns across the board. If he's at least near where he's supposed to be, that's an improvement from guys running more quickly to the wrong spot on the field...

pugsnotdrugs19 10-16-2018 02:58 PM

Ragland has been AIDS outside of one play this year, but I just can't see them getting rid of him right now. I don't know what is wrong with him, but I can't see him being cut yet.

TwistedChief 10-16-2018 02:58 PM

We resigned Parker.

We resigned Zombo.

We resigned Allen.

How does this not happen? Our defense can be AIDS but if it's DJ AIDS at least we can all nod and say, "Well, love that guy anyway."

Pretty damn sad state of affairs that has us re-signing guys that we knew had no tread left on the tires just because we couldn't find basic replacement level play in their stead.

Hammock Parties 10-16-2018 03:01 PM

If they resigned ****ing Zombo they can damn well ****ing resign DJ.

Just put him in the goddamn red zone D for all I care, that alone might be worth 4 points a game.

He's also great at stopping forward progress on QB's

Whatever it takes to get this defense closer to average.

pugsnotdrugs19 10-16-2018 03:05 PM

The big takeaway is that us having to re-sign all of these guys tells you all you ever needed to know about Bob Sutton.

They HAVE to upgrade at DC.

CaliforniaChief 10-16-2018 03:16 PM

Can they at least have "DJ's tackling camp" where they bring the guys in and learn how to hit and finish a guy off?

I love DJ as much as the next Chiefs fan, but do you really want him teaching everyone how to dive at dudes with a shoulder?

Rain Man 10-16-2018 03:31 PM

Have we signed him yet? I want to see him starting this next game.

Signing is contingent on him taking a big dump and clogging the toilet before leaving Raiders practice facility.

Sassy Squatch 10-16-2018 03:34 PM

He'd better be on the field Sunday night.

InChiefsHeaven 10-16-2018 03:34 PM

Bring him back. Cut some scrub. You can't do any worse and DJ should never have been a ****ing Raider. Bring him back, get a group hug, play him this year and make him a coach next year.

I was going to buy his jersey until he became a stinkin' Raider. If he comes back, all is forgiven. Yes I know, thinking with my heart. I love that guy...

CaliforniaChief 10-16-2018 03:34 PM

I'd also say he needs to grab a playbook, but it's nothing you can't pull off of Madden '95

First Parker then zombo and now dj. This says more about Veach then anything. He has done such a bad job in the off season that bringing these guys back is an upgrade. This defense is such a disaster that the chiefs are trying to get it back to the 2017 version.

Sutton is the one who isn't using the talent right. Speaks, Nnadi, Watts, and Lucas have all shown at least something in these first 6 games, and Fuller and Hitchens have both taken tremendous steps back in this scheme.

Good God folks DJ proved to everyone he was done last year but John Gruden. Honestly 5 games in even Gruden saw the light. Let DJ enjoy his retirement then put him on the ring and remove that debacle Gary Spani.

Hey, he's the one that went to Oakland to play another year. Turns out Ragland might possibly be the worst starting ILB in the league and Johnson at least knows what the **** is expected of him in this scheme.

Reggie is probably laughing at one (or both) of two things:

1. The Raiders releasing his buddy
2. DJ got him on the horn and was like "see you tomorrow"

New World Order 10-16-2018 03:44 PM

I hope DJ didn't ask for the release (retire)

I do agree. Although the only player of those three i have seen be consistent enough to really believe in is nnadi. I still think that there has to be some linebacker help hidden in a practice squad somewhere. Dorsey really did that well. We could use some of that right now

I dont think he had a choice. The Chiefs didn't want him back, they wanted to get younger. The problem is they got younger, worse and more expensive. So it kinda backfired lol

Adding a brokedick like DJ isn’t going to help this defense for a Super Bowl run.

Yes it does. Would you rather eat an extremely overdone steak thats going to be tough as hell and taste like ash or a flaming pile of AIDS infested shit? That's the difference between Johnson and Ragland.

Seems like easy money for him. Now, he can sign a one day contract to retire a Chief, then join the coaching staff to teach our linebackers how to tackle.

Yes he can't keep up with RBs any better than the guys on the roster but what he does have is basic fundamental knowledge of the system... and heart.

Dude **** it just get him here at vet minimum for nostalgia.

The D might play harder for that alone.

Well, there are 2 things that DJ does better than any LB on this team, and that's Flow to the runner instead of offensive linemen, and get low on short yardage plays.
