This has been the worst I've experienced and it hasn't been that bad assuming one isn't homeless.

I sent my mom the tweet with the crash video - causing much confusion.

Somehow she discovered that heart-eye emoji and uses it all the time even right after reporting on a death.

You like it 90 degrees and swamp ass?

I only mind the typical short spells where the temps get below 20. Otherwise I like winter more than summer. Anything over 85 and humid in the midwest is just unbearable to me.

The summers are worse...I can explain that in quick fashion on top of swamp ass my bills are cheaper in the winter.

It's not so much the amount of snow, it's that there's not much of budget for snow removal and preparation, so a few inches has a huge impact.

HonestChieffan 02-16-2019 04:22 PM

Stewie 02-16-2019 05:37 PM

I remember the snow and cold of the 1970s and the heat of 1980.

I was stuck in -20 weather in Overland Park in 1979 with my new (used) car that wouldn't start. I froze my ass off until my dad showed up to get me going.

I worked as a landscaper at what is now Overland Park Regional Center in 1980. Eleven straight days of 100+ temperatures, one day below 100, then 6 more days of 100+. I wonder how those sort of days and temps would be reported now?

ARMAGEDDON!

So 25 years in Montana then jumped ship so as you could for warm climate :D

dlphg9 02-16-2019 08:19 PM

I hate this ****ing weather. Seems to be the worst winter I can remember and thats not only because of the snow, but it seems like its almost been non stop cold except for those few nice days thrown in there.

So I looked up the number of days 50 or above from Dec. 1 to today Feb 16. These were from reported highs in downtown KC.

2016-2017 (29)
2017-2018 (30)
2018-2019 (21)

So this winter has been real shitty in regards to temp, but on top of that it keeps ****ing snowing or icing.

ARMAGEDDON!

Spent the winter of 80'/81' in Gloucester, Mass. out on Cape Ann, working outside, welding rail road tracks together. About a month stretch the temps bounced around 10 above and 10 below, remember one day wind chill was like 25 below. Damn wind blowing in of the Atlantic at times made it that much more miserable. Spent the previous summer in Texarkana in those MF'ing over 100 temps welding rail out on the line.
As a young man I think I dealt with the winter the best. At least you could dress for it. That summer was brutal.

I remember the coldest night ever in KC, -23 . My friend's heater could barely heat the house. I got to huddle with my friend, who happened to be a super hot chick, all night on his hide-a-bed just because it was so cold. I thought about trying something but it was too cold. We just wanted to stay warm.

The next day my k-car was the only car that started.

Some parts of Northern Arizona are looking at 18-24 inches Thursday/Friday... overestimating a good amount could still mean a foot of snow.

At this point I'm relatively certain that if we were even going to Cabo San Lucas that THEY would end up with 2-4 inches of snow. (The frozen kind, not the kind that is usually around those parts. Heh)

I've noticed how bad the weather has been north of Springfield this year. It's been a start contrast to the weather in Springfield and south. It's crazy.
