He's great at giving up the lead.

Great Expectations 04-15-2019 09:02 PM

Walking the guy was brilliant. All the other guys smoked the ball, the guy he walked was out easy at second.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 04-15-2019 09:08 PM

Good walk Owings!!

Great Expectations 04-15-2019 09:08 PM

Why isn’t Gore in for Owings?

That was a shitty AB for Soler.

Ron Swanson 04-15-2019 09:10 PM

Great ab Soler

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 04-15-2019 09:10 PM

Soler sucks. Should’ve had someone bunt there. Would ensure a Merrifield AB with a runner in scoring position.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 04-15-2019 09:12 PM

Put Gore in now

Coach 04-15-2019 09:12 PM

Plate discipline was complete ass by Soler and Hamilton.

Al Bundy 04-15-2019 09:12 PM

The last 2 outs have been all pitches out of the zone..

You have Hamilton, Whit and Mondesi coming up. Why not put Gore in to steal second?

Gore is faster than Owings and you aren’t putting Gore in for any of the other 3....

Ron Swanson 04-15-2019 09:13 PM

No reason to have Gore on the roster if you aren't going to use him in situations like that.

VAGOMO 4 LIFE! 04-15-2019 09:13 PM

**** this bullpen

Why Not? 04-15-2019 09:13 PM

6 lead off walks and only 1 scores. This is a really bad baseball team. People who think it’s only a bullpen problem are delusional.

But don’t get me wrong, definitely **** this bullpen also.

Ned is a literal ****ing reerun. Let's constantly run Boxberger in to give up the lead. That ****ing idiot needs DFA'd not put in every high leverage situation.

carcosa 04-15-2019 09:17 PM

****!!!!!!

Ned is the biggest reerun to ever win a World Series.

dlphg9 04-15-2019 10:09 PM

Cant wait for Yost's White Knights to come in here to defend the ****ing reerun.

Because Ned knows best. The arrogant asshole won a WS, because he was gifted a back end of the bullpen that was fool proof. He just has to be the smartest guy in the room. I love how defensive he gets over his dumb ass decisions.

tk13 04-15-2019 10:20 PM

I don't know what there is to defend. Pretty much every pitcher out there in that bullpen has been a disaster, except for Kennedy and now Barlow. Diekman has been better, but even this his last couple outings have taken him 25 pitches to get through an inning.

Boxberger has given up a run in 5 of his 9 appearances and 9 runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched. Most all of those are high leverage situations, so id say it's pretty ****ing clear everyone but Ned that Boxberger cant handle pitching in the situations he keeps getting put into. He does the same shit every single year and puts dog shit players in the lineup every night, but some try to excuse it because he won a WS.

I don't disagree, Boxberger's not been good, but pretty much every pitcher we have does that.

This is our bullpen. Who is he supposed to throw out there?

Kennedy 1.13
Boxberger 9.72
Diekman 3.86
Peralta 7.71
Barlow 2.57
Sparkman 7.36
Lovelady 16.20
Newberry 9.00

That's on Dayton, not Ned. This doesn't even include Hill (9.00), Zimmer (9.00) and McCarthy (19.64). 8 of the 12 pitchers who have been in the bullpen have ERAs above 7. You aren't going to have any kind of sustained success relying on about two guys.

jerryaldini 04-15-2019 11:15 PM

Kennedy was lined up for the 9th

He would have used Diekman but the first two due ups were righties. You don't want Newberry or Sparkman. Peralta unavailable. It's on Moore.

Don't get me started on Zimmer. Yeah he has a 9 ERA, but he only had 3 appearances and 2 of those he didn't allow a run, then they send him down for control problems, but wtf did they expect when he was hardly getting to pitch. They ****ed him over.

I'd take Newberry and Sparkman over Boxberger. I know Boxberger will **** it up.

Boxberger was signed to be a closer or 8th inning guy for us. That isnt on Ned. Its too early in the season to just not utilize him the way the GM intended
