If we aren't trading for a current NFL WR, I'd want us to use at least one pick on one.

Hog's Gone Fishin 04-25-2019 03:12 PM

We should offer next years #1 and this years #3 for PP .If we got him I think that would virtually guarantee that #1 to be the 32nd pick. Not that valuable.

Mecca 04-25-2019 03:14 PM

John Ross has a perfect skill set for this team...

Nope. That's overpaying.

The guy is a freaking 29-year-old CB.

Do you remember Darelle Revis? He was even better than PP but was done at 31 years old or so. You can look at guys like Sherman or Norman also, they slowed down around 30 years old and it's not just injury.

I mean I just don't get how he would be any more valuable than Peters who was traded for a future 2nd round pick and a 4th round pick.

Sure Peters had attitude problems and was a slightly lesser player than PP but he was 25 years old and had two more years to play on the cheap.

also a top 5 defender in all of the NFL and no sign of slowing down.

A great defensive draft and we need defense.

What do we do?

Trade away almost all our draft picks.

We traded one pick this year and it was for a proven defensive stud that is in another stratosphere than the guys that would be available at 29. You can’t possibly be this ****ing stupid.

Two, if you count the 4th for Ragland.

Turn two lottery tickets full of uncertainty, into one proven winner ticket... it’s the exact move you make when in Win Now mode

KChiefs1 04-25-2019 05:22 PM

1. Clark
2. Peterson

That’s A+

Buckweath 04-25-2019 05:25 PM

Here is hoping Veach trades multiple 2020 picks. Im just hoping he keeps the 1st round pick.

The Rams and Saints had the same approach of going all in and it served them well this past year. They didnt get a SB but real close and they had great seasons.

MahomesKnows 04-25-2019 05:28 PM

I'm thinking he pivots and makes the trade for a WR. I'd love to get Peterson but a WR may be a bigger need now. Unless he can get Peterson and draft a WR, which is still possible I guess.

YayMike 04-25-2019 05:56 PM

Welp, Guess this ends with the Hill news. Need to take a WR with one of the 2 2nds now. Corner back with the other. Pushes TE to the third. OG/C to 4th,....,

Or the offense adapts and we take a TE. 2019 Chiefs offense featuring some sick two TE set looks that the NFL has never seen.

YayMike 04-25-2019 06:00 PM

Definitely possible and I’d be a big fan of this...

But: If (when) Sammy goes down we have no one at WR after D Rob.

TomBarndtsTwin 04-25-2019 06:01 PM

Well, the WR thing makes sense now . . . .

MahomesMagic 04-25-2019 06:02 PM

Trade up for McLaurin or Butler.

YayMike 04-25-2019 06:02 PM

I guess the counter argument is that elite quarterbacks like Mahomes don’t need wide receivers and they actually make wide receivers better. Perhaps we have to put this theory to the test.

Byron Pringle and Gehrig Deiter could thrive with Mahomes. But dang, you'd still like to get somebody else to compete with them. Veach will pull a rabbit out of his hat I'm guessing. He'll go get someone

YayMike 04-25-2019 06:40 PM

I agree, I think you really need a proven commodity next to Watkins.

Wow. Sounds like you've had a really stressful day.

Anyway, OP's original post not crazy. We potentially have a lot more future cap room if Hill is gone so getting someone like PP and extending him is less difficult.

That said, WR is now looking like a real void. Not opposed to using one of our seconds this year and our first next year to get back into the end of the first round and grab a WR or CB if there's someone they're really keen on. Use the other second this year to draft the opposite of whatever we did in the first.

And hope?

Hey, man. Why don't you try reaching into your mouth with your finger in a hook-type shape, reach all the way back, and in a scooping motion pull it forward? Maybe to try to clear all that shit out?

The Chiefs haven't done shit yet.

You and Slick Rick HAVE.

I want to know what your strategy for getting this team's offensive production back up after ditching Hill is. Come on, boys; put on that Armchair GM hat you love to prance around here in and ****ING DAZZLE ME.

Who knows? If you have some good ideas maybe we can submit them. Why? Because we ARE going to hold KC responsible for this choice at some point.

You WILL hold KC responsible for this at some point. In your personal case, I'm guessing right around late December. Oh, you can deny it today and rage against the injustice of the world while gnashing your teeth, but you KNOW the day is coming.

So, why not get on it NOW while we can actually DO SOMETHING about it?

Again boys; I'm all ears.
