Kid made some good plays tonight. Hope he keeps it up.

|
See ya Fuller!!
|
Felton (Troy Aikman spelling) kicked ass.
|
Pro Bowl level.

Felton...errr....Fenton looked amazing tonight, but it was the shitty donkies. :)
|
This is gonna sound very stupid but do you even bring back Fuller if he’s healthy? Fenton is already better than him

Nice pick, Veach!
|
Played well
|
I want to see more of him.
|
Should take over for Fuller.
|
I will be honest. They called him Felton once. I was like OK they miss spoke. When they called him Felton twice I was like you mother****ers. And it got corrected.

Great game but lets temper out expectations. Remember chodes of yester years that started out like ballers and fizzled out
|
It's amazing how one little thing can change an outlook.
IF (that's a big if right now) Felton or Fenton (whichever plays better ROFL) can show promise in the slot for the rest of this season, maybe the corner back situation doesn't look so dire for next year. |
Quote:
So why be hurt right before trade deadline. :banghead: As aggressive as Veach has been signing FA I don’t think we’d get a comp pick? |
I was impressed with Fenton too...….but lets see a couple more games with him before we start saying get rid of Fuller.

Is it Fenton or Felton? After watching last nights game I’m not sure.
|
Don’t look now but PFF has Fenton as the Chiefs best defender!!

It’s great that he gave us tight coverage on Daesean ****ing Hamilton.
Let’s see him against an actual NFL receiver. |

Yeah but the best part of last night's game was when Aikman laughed out loud at the Donks putting Flaccid back out on the field, and when he said it might have been the worst offense he's ever seen.

I think Buck and Aikman stopped at a dispensary before the game... |

Now with that being said, Felenton looked really damn good last night. I hope he keeps getting shots and him and Ward become bad asses. Its be nice to be set at the CB position and if you're number 3&4 corners are Fuller/Breeland, then you are pretty ****ing set. We need to draft some LBs. We need a DJ at linebacker and this defense looks a whole lot better. |
JESUS CHRIST FENTON!!!!
|
Clay Fenton retweeted your post about him!
|
I normally hate it here when some people relate absolutely everything back to the ****ing Patriots, but some of those plays made me think maybe Fenton could man up Edelman on those short middle routes.

I think just about everybody (including myself) took potshots at this guy either when he was drafted, throughout the offseason, or during training camp/preseason.
When we had to start relying on him due to injuries in the secondary, I don't think there was a single person here who had any kind of inkling he would do this well. To be fair to all of us... compare his college highlights to the plays he's made in the pros. I don't see the same player. At all. Credit to Veach. Nice freakin' pick! Even if all he's ever good for is nickel and dime situations and special teams, that's still a pretty decent player to have for a 6th round pick. And ALL teams need players like that. |

Super glad we didn't give up all those picks for Ramsay.
|
What do we do with Fuller when he comes back?

Put him on the outside and bench Breeland.

I was surprised by Fenton’s success until I saw he played HS football at Carol City.
Guys from Miami are just built different from a competitive standpoint. They’re told at a very young age that it’s football or the streets for the rest of their lives. I’m not joking when I say the atmosphere for youth football leagues is like college football. |
He's a deeeeeemon Fenton

Breeland has played better than Fuller though
I too said this was the one draft pick who was gonna suck. I guess it's that lineman from Illinois then. edit: who is our only backup center so we'll see on him too. |
If they keep it up our young secondary is going to need a nickname.
Maybe The Dreads or something (due to Ward and Matthieu having colorful locks). Or something actually good. |

I'm so glad we didn't spend draft picks on a corner trade.
Use them all on linemen and linebackers. |
Fenton makes Fuller expendable.
|
Nice job by the rookie forcing a fumble on the kickoff return.
|
Did Fenton get hurt during game or was it only Breeland that got hurt today?
|
I ****ing love this guy. He played another great game today. Hell of a blitz and some really nice coverage plays.
Goddamn what a draft class!!!! |

Fenton is a very underrated player on this defense. He's quietly had a very good season.
|
Quote:
I'd almost rather sign Breeland to a short term deal and draft a corner, but I also know much this defensive staff values versatility. |
As far as I was concerned, he was this years Mr Irrelevant
Exceptional sixth round pick, looks like a natural... glad to be wrong |

I dont remember noticing him during the game, thats probably good right?

This man had Mark Fields job the whole time and we just didn't see it.
|
Our secondary looks very strong going into next year.
I bet we’re able to extend Breeland on an affordable 2-3 year deal. That would give us Honey Badger, Thornhill (hopefully doesn’t lose a step), Ward, Breeland, and Fenton as our starters. Watts will be back as well I’m sure. I assume we’ll draft another CB/S to add to the group and sign a veteran in the offseason. I feel so much better about our secondary than I did at this time last year. The future looks great. |
This kid has been a steal
|
When I saw Fenton drafted I thought this was the guy in the draft class that you go back and say wow I forgot about that guy did he ever play a snap?
Like a DJ White or a Sanders Commings or a Jalil Brown. Man am I so pleased to be wrong. The only guy in this draft class who hasn't done anything yet is Nick Allegretti and that is the type of player who may need years and then surprise. Best draft class in Chiefs history? |
Allegretti is getting reps on ST and he had 2 rep on O as well. For a late round flyer that isn't bad. At least he's still with the team and contributing something.
|
He’s really good at timing PBUs it seems. Good technique coming from behind a player on underneath routes.
|
I'm holding out hope on him for sure. It takes time for linemen and especially centers. If he developed and was able to take over and play better than Austin Reiter that would be huge.
edit: Also his draft profile had a lack of upper body strength as a negative and maybe he just needs to power lift for like three years. |
Dude has been such a pleasant surprise so far. He has an attitude on the field and appears to be very confident.
|
FWIW.... PFF said that Fenton’s week 17 performance against LAC was the best single game for a CB on this roster all season long.
If this guy is a legit player, holy balls what a draft class. |
I’ve had a hard on for him ever since his first game against the Donks. Glad to see I was right. Veach is the best GM in the league
|
Gonna guess we let Breeland walk and slide Fenton into that role.

Ward & Fenton > Breeland Even Matheiu is better at CB than Breeland |

And Matheiu plays inside when he plays corner. You’re comparing two different positions. He is not a better outside corner than Breeland. |
I bet Breeland gets money thrown at him.
Teams are desperate for corners. |
90% of the first 75 post hated this pick LMAO

Breeland will definitely get a good contract offer.
If the Chiefs can only keep one of him or Fuller at around the same price, I’m keeping Fuller. He’s more versatile. Fuller can play nickel and outside and FS, while Breeland is pretty much an outside corner only. |
