Maybe they're planning to increase his role with more of that. He deserves it. Fullback is a position of the past. But Sherman has always been a great team player and a stud on special teams. Not to mention, he did play great in the probowl. If he can get a few more snaps at tight end, I say go for it.

He seems like he has decent/Good hands too.

A 37 year old punter could honestly hit the wall and lose power.

People considering dumping Colquitt need some nails driven down their dong holes, or turned upside down and their vaginas filled with concrete so that your unfathomable stupidity cannot be passed into offspring.

Cut one of the best punters ever to save a buck. Field position is still important. Revamped d could be same as old d. You dont toss talent that helps a defense that needs all the help it can get.

Mighty Mahomes was shut out first half of AFC title game. We arent at a point where we disregard elite punting.

Some of you seem to have forgotten the shitshow train of punters we had before Colquitt.

Mecca 05-31-2019 03:21 PM

I don't really think they'll cut him but we're probably getting close to that because this team will be looking to open money before long and a 3 million dollar punter will seem like a lot.

Plenty of teams win with good punting. Elite punting is 100% unnecessary.

However, it is also unnecessary to cut him, unless you intend to improve your team with that savings elsewhere, or if he's falling off the cliff.

Mecca 05-31-2019 03:25 PM

Anyone worried about it should realize for Colquitt to get cut this guy would literally have to be better every single day of camp and absolutely beat him out, if it's close Colquitt is gonna win the job.

We are both right - two different clips in the video

Coogs 05-31-2019 04:53 PM

The one at the 0:58 mark is Fuller all the way.

JakeF 05-31-2019 05:08 PM

How fantastic would it be to have a Hill type WR on both sides.

QB - Mahomes
RB - Williams

Hill
Kelce
Watkins
Pringle

If the offensive line holds up its practically unstoppable.

Not a KSU fan but his QB and scheme were ****ing hot garbage. It’s hard to draw much from his KSU plays. Although he was pretty electric on ST

I was cautiously optimistic; thought he’d be a fun project, but not nearly as high as I was on Tyler Lockett coming out.

Hill
Watkins
Hardman
Robinson
Pringle
Either Thompson or Custis

That’s a strong group

I was in the middle. I knew he had talent and he was really good, his production was just stunted by the poor K-State scheme and iffy QB play (to be fair, not all is on Jesse Ertz as Snyder likes ramming his QB's to a bloody pulp). He also has played hurt as well.

I just wasn't sure how his talents would translate in the NFL, to be honest with you. Plus, he was one of the older WR's in that class, if my memory serves me right.

Him playing against Texas A&M in the 2016 Texas Bowl would give you an idea what he is capable of if he has a QB that is good.

At worst, he is very good on returning kicks and punts.

1-Hill
2-Watkins

4-Hardman

What hurts the most about Lockett is that his ideal partner would be Mahomes and vice-versa. They would be insane together.

Unless Pringle is a pro-bowler, probably not.

It’d be nice if they could develop another one in their system.

Hill is no guarantee to come back and Watkins never really lasts a full season anyway so....after that our wideouts are Hardman and DRob (who I like), the WR depth is pretty good but I’d like some more added depth w/ starting potential.

Im feeling confident that’ll get done. We have Mahomes.

I disagree with the comparison of Pringle to Sippio and other training camp warriors. Reid said last year that he would have made the team if he hadn't gotten hurt. Also, he's back for a second training camp. Sippio never got a second camp. I'm not expecting him to be a starter, but I think that he has a real shot at making the roster.

JakeF 06-02-2019 12:58 PM

Agreed. That said, I think the reason there's a bit of momentum around him is because of how he played in pads last preseason, evidenced in the video below.

I don't think anyone is crowning him as the second coming of Christ. I just think there's momentum - from Veach & Reid last year, and now from Bienemy, Toub and our new WR coach - that he could end up as the 5th or 6th wideout and/or ST player. I think some might find it worth discussing, is all.

I don't see anyone jerking off just yet.

"Herp it's minicamp he's a turd lol derp"

No, it's actually numbers. At least ONE of these so-called training camp heroes is going to make it on the 53 man roster at WR. And given it's such a tight competition and so many of them play special teams pretty well, we're probably going to see 2. Possibly even 3 for part of the season, depending if Hill is suspended and for how long.

Hill
Watkins
Hardman
Robinson

We'll carry at least 5. I'm thinking it's more likely we carry 6. Here are the leftovers:

Kemp
Deiter
Pringle
Thompson
Custis

Those are 5 training camp heroes. All dudes who look great in shorts and get homers whacking off pretty good during training camp and preseason. There are no gritty hard-nosed veterans they have to beat out, and there are no coach's pets that people want to see get cut. It's a 100% open spot that they'll be competing for.

The minimum bar they need to meet is that of Marcus Kemp on special teams in order for their spot to be an upgrade over last year. The optimistic yet realistic possibility is for one of them to be better than Chris Conley/Demarcus Robinson from last year. Again, shouldn't be hard. A couple hundred yards and maybe one or two TDs. Particularly in beating out Conley-- if any of them can get his production AND not be a fumbling piece of crap, we've already upgraded.

So like it or not, these "turds" are going to get pimped because the odds are that we'll see more than one of them on the 53 man roster this season.

That includes Byron Pringle.

I have no problem with a player getting better and contributing. I guess I just don't get very erect over battling it out for the 6th position. In shorts. Before we get to camp. And do it all over again.
