I don't know that Daniels is going to have much effect on Jones price tag anyway.
|
I don't either to be honest, but if they sign Mike Daniels to more than a year I'd certainly think that adds to speculation that the Chiefs are willing to move on from Jones.

If they got Jalen Ramsey I’d be ok with it. |
Why am I getting the feeling we might jettison another defensive star for next to nothing?

The shit run defense the last few years started up front. Get that figured out and you give your LBs a chance. |
Should we decide to part with Jones, the only thing that gives me comfort is that no one we’ve let go of has gone on to do anything special... yet. Kareem Hunt may be the outlier.
But Peters went on to suck ass. I don’t expect Ford to play his contract worth. Berry hasn’t signed. Bailey took forever to get signed. If we trade Jones (and I don’t want to, but if we do) then there must be some truth to his freelancing and not playing his role correctly despite being told/coached otherwise. He is a wonderful talent, but I think Veach has earned our trust. |

Have we signed this pos yet?

I’m assuming most teams will try to play keep away with us again this year, so we should see teams trying to run the ball on us again.
If we can get this guy on a 1-year deal, I’d do it all day. A DL of Clark, Jones, Daniels, and Okafor would be elite. Then you have Nnadi, Saunders, Ogbah, and Speaks as depth. I’d assume Williams and Kpass are gone at that point. There will be zero excuses for our LBs in the run game if they’re playing behind that line. |

This is one of those times. |

Saw reports that Veach was trying to trade for him. So clearly there is legit interest, I just can't see paying this guy decent coin when we have Jones and Hill yet to deal with. Unless, Veach is all in for this year and is not going to give Hill or Jones new contracts.
All in moment? |

Daniels would be fantastic in the rotation.
|
Bring him in with Jones. Profit.
|
Ok?!
@AdamSchefter: Former Packers’ Pro-Bowl DT Mike Daniels is finalizing a deal with the Detroit Lions, source tells ESPN. |

These guys just want to play against the teams that cut them twice a year. And just like McCoy people on CP assumed he was going to NE or Cleveland LMAO |
LOL WTF, lets sign with a last place team.

The Lions roster is actually pretty decent on paper. They got two young weapons in Golladay and Keryon with Marvin Jones coming back from injury. Drafted Hock. They’ve added Flowers and Daniels on that DL.
They might be a surprise playoff team. |
The Lions will be better this year, word out of camp is Hockenson is virtually unguardable.
they also have some decent running backs. |

They are not better than the Bears, Packers or Vikings. |
The positive of him signing with Detroit is he didn't go to a rival AFC team or a team that the Chiefs will face in the super bowl

Everyone is a contender this time of year. Apparently the Lions are the contender with the biggest checkbook or at least the most willing to open it up wide for him.

I talked to Daniels - said by signing with the Lions he is guaranteed not to miss watching Mahomes on TV during the playoffs!

If he is... they’re tough. Probably the best run defense in the NFL. |

Frat boy isn't a good coach and they hired a shitty OC. They are definitely the worst team in the NFC North. |

Have we made fun of this piece of shit yet?

Lions signed DL Mike Daniels to a one-year, $9.1 million contract.
The deal includes $7.8 million fully guaranteed. Daniels was due $8.1 million from the Packers before his release, so this is a good rebound. The Packers can't be thrilled Daniels is staying in the division after failing to get a trade done. With Daniels, Trey Flowers, and Damon Harrison, Detroit has the makings for a very strong defensive front. No thanks. |

If healthy, that’s still a good deal.

They're a 7-9 football team and likely to finish at the bottom of their division. The Lions are consistently mediocre regardless of talent. |
Coaching matters. That’s the make-or-break. But the Lions are infested with Patriot Way bullshit like we were in the late 2000’s.
I feel very badly for them. Them and the Browns are the longest suffering franchises and it looks like the Browns could be winning a playoff game soon. |
