They let dieter play a game so he could get a ring if we win it all maybe :hmmm:

Sure no all stars but there is probably better options. Chris Ivory or CJ Anderson who if you remember was signed this late last year by the Rams and they rode him to the SB. I get that he knows the system but he looked like shit last year and with the Colts. |
Why is Ware even available? He would probably be our best strictly best run first half back. 4.7ypc in his career. Don't care he doesn't have breakaway speed. Alot of it is seeing holes and vision. Hes also pretty solid off first contact

At this point why not, if he's healthy and knows the system do it.

Say what you want but the Chiefs just got better at RB. He’s an immediate upgrade over Darrel.

Honestly he is perfect for our system. He has always had great hands for catching, and he has never averaged less than 4.3 yards a carry. If he could just stay healthy was always his problem.

Excuse me if m not excited about a guy sitting at home available at this point in the season... Hope Thompson plays so well that Ware doesn’t see the field..

He’s just a good tough player who can do a bit of everything. |

Oh and Mike Pennel... The reality is that some good veteran players pick and choose when and where they wanna play. Spencer was still living in the area to my knowledge. He was also injured, hence the reason the Colts let him go. He didn’t have to come back and play necessarily, but like he said, there’s unfinished business in KC. |

Update - he signed
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It appears the Chiefs have signed Spencer Ware, who played the 3 previous seasons in KC. @HerbieTeope: #Chiefs signed RB Spencer Ware, according to a source.
The corresponding move as noted on today's NFL Transactions report is the waiving of WR Gehrig Dieter. |
Welcome back Spencer Ware!

I like the idea of a back with fresh legs going down the stretch. Perfect fit for the offense. |

Some of you dicks blasted me for advocating a Ware signing after the Colts released him.
Eat bags o’ dicks! Great to have Ware back in the fold. He is a tough, skilled player who will play his heart out for this franchise. |
Is this like when Priest Holmes came back and lead us to the promised land?
|
It’s official
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">We have signed free agent RB Spencer Ware.<br><br>WR Gehrig Dieter has been waived. <a href="https://t.co/qHQ5tl6Mhg">pic.twitter.com/qHQ5tl6Mhg</a></p>— Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1202011824713019392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 3, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
can he cover pass catching RBs from other teams?
|
Quote:
Priest was rightfully scared of spending the rest of his life paralyzed from the neck down when he came back But you already knew that... |
Quote:

Makes more sense than any other RB. Knows the plays already and can start taking snaps this sunday.
|
Now that I think about it, isn't ware basically darrel Williams. Either darrel is going to IR. Or ware is a short term signing until darrel is back. Im guessing the latter.
|
Now all we need is for Kareem Hunt to follow Ware's footsteps...
|
"We're getting the band back together..........."
|
I hope Ware can add something but Chris Ballard knew who he was and who he is now and had to cut him. That worries me but I am sure its insurance till Damian or Darrel get back.

Career YPC McCoy (potential HOF running back, just 31 yrs old) 4.5 ypc Damien Williams 3.9 ypc Darrell Williams 3.4 ypc Ware is at 4.7 ypc and fresh. 4.7 ypc would be 12th in the NFL this year. |

The bar is low for our RBs and Spencer Ware knows the system. He at least gives us continuity. You don’t need to be excited about this signing to understand its logic. |
Brought in for passing situations to block and catch.

Spencer Ware is a freaking stud. When it comes to couch RB's, he's the cream of the crop. Nothing says Super Bowl like retread free agent cut from another team running backs that we moved on from a year ago.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">On the Spencer Ware signing, my understanding is that Damien Williams has a chance to play Sunday at Patriots. He'll have fresh legs at least.

Quote:
CJ Anderson is too much of a power back and Andy Reid avoids them at all cost. Guys like Ware and Darrel Williams are as far as he's prepared to go in terms of power backs. We never should have gotten rid of Carlos Hyde. |
Can he not get Pat killed in pass pro situations and run forward for 3-5 yards at a time?
Ok, he'll do. |
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Spencer Ware, I'm told, signed a 1-year deal for the veteran's minimum, which is around $805,000.<br><br>While Ware knows most of the Chiefs' playbook, I'm told Damien Williams (sore left ribs) might be able to play Sunday, according to a source. <a href="https://t.co/GgZhS5zjt9">https://t.co/GgZhS5zjt9</a></p>— Nate Taylor (@ByNateTaylor) <a href="https://twitter.com/ByNateTaylor/status/1202023853989515267?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 4, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Hopefully Ware is well rested and what this offense needs. He doesn't need to be a world beater to be the best RB of this group. Just hold on to the ball, catch a few, block well. |

I hope that Ware can be impactful, but he's obviously not going to be in game shape. By the time he's in game shape, both Williams will likely be back.
