Megatron96 01-28-2020 03:41 PM

49ers will need 45+ to win. And since we already know that they aren't good at posting a score that high (the have had a couple games where they scored over 35 but just a couple), you have to figure that if the Chiefs score anything over 37 points, it's a KC victory.

Our average defense has been statistically in the top 5 since week 11.

Our defensive roster is filled with names like Frank Clark, T. Suggs, Chris Jones, Tyrann Mathieu, C. Ward, Hitchens, Wilson and Ragland. Just how is that line up so 'average?'

Over the course of the season and in the playoffs our defense has stoned what, 3 or 4 of the top 5 rushing offenses in the league, but now we're 'just average'?

Did those teams just become less than average because we stoned them?

People just discount the defense, and that’s fine. I feel like the defense is gonna use that as motivation, come in and lay some wood. Everyone discounts what the Titans has done to get to the AFCCG in the first place. They were steamrolling fools, and beat the 3, and 1 seeds at their houses. Our defense out physicalled a very physical team, that was on a historic rushing streak. But idgaf, defense is gonna come out, and make a statement just like they did in the AFCCG. Dee Ford isn’t gonna win a SB before Mahomes, the Gods won’t allow that abomination. The revenge tour ends Sunday when we avenge Ford jumping offsides (although he’s not the real reason we really lost it).

It’s hard to take the media seriously when they present Dilfer or Mangini as “football experts”. I could have QB’d the Ravens to a SB win to. I can hand off a ball too. I can also throw a 5 yd pass. Likewise, I could have also been a terrible head coach who was fired quickly but not quickly enough. Perhaps I should consider TV analyst for my encore career.

I keep having this weird feeling that our defense is going to do something special on Sunday.

I don't know why, but after hearing the media, and a lot of current and former players, making the 49ers RBs sound like a bunch of Jim Browns and Barry Sanders, and their offensive line sound like a bunch of Larry Allens and Willie Roafs, and making their defensive line sound like a bunch of Reggie Whites and Bruce Smiths, and with those same people only giving props to our offense, I just feel that HB, Frank Clark, and to some extent Suggs, are going to spur this defense to a historic performance.

Yeah, Matt Cassell sat behind Brady for 4 years in NE, including the 2007 undefeated season.

We all saw firsthand how much 'good' that did.

Magina is such a tool. He never even acknowledges that Mahomes is great, but now he wants to knock the Chiefs for not moving up even further?

Dumb, they moved up where they needed to be.

"They would have given more if they really thought he was that good." Magina

Chiefs gave up two 1st and a 3rd for Mahomes and were slammed in their draft grades over it. In reality, they moved up perfectly and got their guy while fleecing the Bills.

Mangina does not want to give the Chiefs credit at all while also begrudgingly not giving Mahomes any respect. He rides the fence of stupidity.

As far as Whitlock, this guy always picks against the Chiefs and now wants to jump on the bandwagon? Typical flip-flopper fatlock. **** that guy.

I hate the dynasty talk...but this is what people said about the patriots in 2001-2003. They were an "average" team playing over their heads...

I think the 9ers were the average team with a few superstars. All their money is on their defense. They were a 4-12 team a season ago. The chiefs were 12-4 and a ridiculous offsides penalty away from going to the superbowl. No one has blown out the chiefs in the last few years. In fact, all our losses in the mahomes era have been by 7 pts or less.

Dilfer is a moron.

If you want to talk about holding, just watch all the holds downfield during some of those SF runs. They're good at that. Blocking in the back too.

Shanarat jr. is just like his dad.

The chiefs scored 117 pts in their 3 playoff games. 58 of those came in the second half.

This game is a game of quarters. You the first half was a virtual wash. Game calling was suspect on the chiefs last first half drive. 3rd qtr was the 9ers. 4th qtr was the chiefs.

The Chiefs make the NFL look like the NBA. The runs this team could go on don’t happen in the NFL. The Chiefs look like the Golden State Warriors at their best.

Yep, Cowherd made a good point on that. Warriors would be down 12 and in the blink of an eye, they lead a game by 7. How did that happen? Chiefs offense is just like that, especially when they get help from KC defense forcing quick punts by the opponent.

I agree. The chiefs go on runs. And usually when they hit on one of those runs, they become insurmountable for the opposing team. I think that's in part why shanarat jr opted to pass the ball instead of running it in the 4th. They could sense the momentum turning on the field. I even felt like we would score every time we had the ball in the 4th. The defense just needed to get off the field. And they did

When we were down 3, SF needed a TD. A field goal was going to lose them the game. Everyone knew it. The only chance they had to win the game was to score a TD.

They couldn’t just run out the clock with having almost 6 minutes left and KC having 3 timeouts.

SF needed a TD to win the Super Bowl. They needed to be aggressive. I don’t blame them at all.

wachashi 02-04-2020 11:21 AM

Dilfer lives in constant jealousy knowing he never had a fraction of Patrick's talent. It's made him a bitter person. Just like Bradshaw and Aikman. These guys couldn't win without elite running games and defenses, and so they actively root against quarterbacks that can. They know Mahomes makes them look like inferior players. And that's exactly what they are.

Add them to the list of teams that Mahomes has broken:

Jacksonville

San Francisco
New England
The Remainder of the AFC West
Indy (yes they beat us this year, but we put Luck into retirement)

Possibly the case. Falcons and Rams both seemed loaded with talent and both of them took a big step back after losing the Super Bowl in ugly fashion. But guess we will see. I think Niners might have a better chance to bounce back.

But they still have a JAG at QB. Shanahan knows that as well as anyone.

They might be a contender, but I don’t think they’ll ever get over the top with that QB.

They’ll waste an elite defense with a JAG at QB...we know that one all too well.

If it was any other AFC team and the Niners are up 20-10 with 7 minutes left, the Niners win the game. They ran into a buzzsaw with the most explosive offense in the league. The Niners just need KC to get knocked out by another AFC team.

The Chiefs are pretty much always going to be a top 2 seed in the AFC with Reid and Mahomes. Given the state of the AFC for the foreseeable future, that sounds like wishful thinking for the 49ers.

MeaTy The Pimp 02-04-2020 02:03 PM

I think one of the issues with the 9ers in the superbowl, was that it seemed like they bought too much into the media hype.

Celebrating after picking off a QB is one thing, but to have the entire team running down to the endzone to pose for pics like they had already won the game made them look foolish.

I am glad our guys didn't let the moment get into their heads and stayed cool.

Im so glad the 49ers did that. It makes the win that much better. They felt like they were on top of the world and then that all changed within 30 minutes. If Seattle does anything but get worse, then San Fran sure isnt winning that division. Hell if Arizona can improve just a little bit, then I can see the 49ers finishing last in the division. The 9ers wont be as healthy next year as they were this year and even if they do get into the playoffs they're not gonna luck into a SB appearence

9ers had some injuries this year for sure though. They're pretty well built for the next year or two for sure.

Jimmy ain't great, he's probably a better looking Alex Smith, so they're capped IMO.

He played fine. He wasn't great, he wasn't bad. Just fine.

But that's what you get from most dudes in that spot. There are only a few Russell Wilsons and Patrick Mahomes.

They have a lot of young talent under contract. Will be interesting to see how it goes. They lost close games this year but also won a bunch of close games. Who knows how that will go next season.

The Seahawks can catch them if they have a good draft and use their cap money well.

Agree. Russell is amazing. Let’s see if Carroll can figure out the rest of the roster. They have not given Russ a good supporting cast for years.

That's right. Look back at the winning QB's in the Superbowls. There's only a handful of different guys over the last 2 decades. So many teams have QB's that will sell tickets but never get it done.

I laugh my ass off at Dak Prescott turning down anything in the $20's. I wouldn't pay him $7M, let alone $37M. I'd rather have Minshew than Prescott. At least he has some of Pat's qualities.

Your outrage is duly noted, next time I’ll ask your permission to jab a Chiefs hater
