Check the shuttles in, but don't expect to be able to get one out. At the Royals parade - my cousin had to wait 5 hours with his family for a bus - and even then there were a ton of people still waiting.

If you're able to walk a couple miles - it might be best to park kinda far away in the direction you want to go to leave. Then maybe you can take a shuttle in from there. But afterwards just be prepared to walk back to your car.

This is what I am worried about. The Royals parade was a cluster. We had to walk clear back to the West Bottoms. It is supposed to be very cold, so we are not wanting to hike 5 miles to get home.

The logistics of this, really leaves you with no good plan.

I thought about parking in River Market and taking the Rail- but they say it won't be running.

So I don't know how to tackle this thing? :hmmm:

I read somewhere some people said parking at 12th and Vine wasn't bad last year as far as getting out.

The other option is just get a hotel room nearby for Wed night.

Or maybe just get there early, park close, then plan on idling in your warm car for a few hours after the parade.

Maybe they'll have better shuttle service this time.

I was planning on heading out today. Weather in Denver sucks, Airlines using our all weather airport have canceled about 500 flights since yesterday and it looks like the weather is headed straight to KC.

For the Royals parade- we did the West Bottoms lot. It took over an hour to get on the bus-which dropped us off 2 miles from Union Station. Afterward, the busses were bogged down and couldn't move, so we walked all the way back. :rolleyes:

Looking at all the drop-off/parking zones, it looks like you will be a Long way from Union Station and can't count on the bus service to get you out of the crowd.

I love the thought of being at the Rally, but the reality seems like it is going to be an all-day thing with not a lot of options leaving.

This could be terribly wrong prediction but I think there will be less people tomorrow than the Royals parade. I think the weather + there was a lot of people who had bad experiences at the Royals one who won't be showing up to this one. I have been waiting 50 years for this one so I am still going to be there.

For the Royals parade a parked down in Westport and walked all the way in and back out.

I’m undecided if I’ll brave the insanity tomorrow or not if I end up not having work due to the weather. I may just make the 60 second drive to my local watering hole and watch it there. It’ll be warmer, more comfortable, and have plenty of Wild Turkey for me.

Rent a snowmobile? Actually the report this morning was possible snow with accumulation of upto 1". The band is expected to stay south of KC but Springfield was expected to get 6". Of course tracks change but I doubt the can change it now as it would cost the city 2 million dollars to do so.

If I was in town, maybe... depends if I could have gotten a hotel downtown the night before and night of the parade (granted, leaving from Crown Center after the Royals' parade wasn't terrible, just had to hang out in the lobby a little while).

IMO, it's kind of a one time thing, considering the number of people and the fact that you better hang out in one spot for hours if you actually want to see anything. And it would be awesome to go to the Chiefs version once, but can't fly back again after the AFCCG trip.

Catching the NFLN coverage from my couch will be great though. :D

I missed the Royals parade too. Don't regret it. I like watching the game and celebrating after than parades but I understand the experience. Kudos to all of you who are brave enough to go out into these crowds & into this cold. This coming from a guy who has no problem facing the Super Bowl power and light crowd. These parades of 1-2 million ppl are another story, though.
