Well, I ain't thin. LMAO

Of course, I'm also not as fat as the anonymous cybertwats would lead you to believe.

If anyone ever gives you grief over your tattoo, the proper retort is to say, "This is actually somebody else's skin. I'm just wearing it."

All of this.

If I didn’t have to work, I’d get a sleeve I the same theme as the Golden Shellback certificate thing I got while in the navy /crossing the equator and date line at the same time. For the uninitiated, the certificate thing is very cool, colorful, and themed around sea lore etc.
I also looked pin up girl tats, and also the old school looking tats. Like you might see in Sailor Jerry branding etc.

My current job wouldn’t care at all but my fear would be losing that gig, and having to go back to an engineering type firm and have to wear long sleeves all the time.
Maybe one day.

Getting a tat of a sports team on your body screams looser at best. Getting a tat of a womans name other than the name being noted you mother in some aspect screams just being plain stupid.

Let's see...I joined a branch of the service (Army). Went to Basic then AIT and then Airborne school..

I'll never forget the night we were "pinned". After the ceremony the tattoo parlors were doing a bang up job of those "Death From Above" tats. Me? Naw....

Eventually, after I retired from the Army, I got a Scotish tattoo on my right forearm. Never thought I would get one - but I have actually grown to love that thing. :)

1. Yes, I am fat.

2. No, I'm not fat enough that back fat juts out a foot beyond where my arm is. I know ****s like BitchBoy and cosmo, neither of whom have ever met me (or anybody else here), like to make it sound like I'm Jabba the Hut, but sorry, that's just not the case.

3. The tat sits right where a normal short sleeve covers it. Not sure where else I would put it in that area.

The 48 hour period that I have to leave the clear bandage on has nearly run, so shortly I'm going to take that off and clean all the crap off it. Looking forward to that, since it's basically looked like a giant black and red smudge for the past couple of days.

I'm a Shellback as well, although not Golden. While I'm less opposed to getting a Navy tat now that I've popped my cherry, so to speak, it still seems like I'd be doing it about 30 years too late. But you never know.

About $200. Probably too much, but keep in mind I do live in Illinois, where everything costs more than it should.

I don't know - sounds about right to me. My Scottish tattoo (a family crest) was fairly intricate and it set me back about $350.

But, I love the damned thing. I was always "taken aback" by my Sons Tatts (Navy guy - Gunners Mate) and his Mom was appalled the first time she saw them. But I have to give the boy (hell, he's now in his 40s) credit. They were all in areas that were easily hidden.

ROFL

The first time the grandkids saw mine - their response? "Grand Dad that is COOL!"

Frazod 02-13-2020 07:31 PM

Just took off the bandage - all the blood and excess ink came off with it, so I didn't have to scrub it or anything. Doesn't hurt at all - if anything it's like the remnant of a mild sunburn.

I dig it. The red really pops. :thumb:

Keep gold bond healing lotion on it for the next couple weeks. After that put on a good sunblock anytime you expose it to the sun to keep the color vibrant.

Also, DO NOT SCRUB IT UNTIL IT HEALS COMPLETELY!

I dig that. I was thinking same for me but thinking about white for the inside of the arrowhead but not sure how white holds up over years.

It doesn’t, which is why mine doesn’t have it.

Yeah, any tattoo artist worth a damn won't use a lot of white if any at all. Mine had some white in it, but it's faded over the years to the point that you can't tell that there ever was any

White isn’t going to hold at all. Don’t do it.

Make sure that you use a good hydrating creme/lotion every day for like 3 weeks or so. And, if you want the color to remain good - use it often. Moisture will maintain it.

KCUnited 02-13-2020 08:54 PM

I find the creams slow the healing process for me. vitamn a/e, tatooo goo, redemption.. all healed just fine, but stayed 'moist/ and prolongged the scabbing portion of the healing process.

This last session on my sleeve i just used cetephil and water and by god it healed to perfection, quickly.

You are about one to two days out is my guess.

Yours wont be bad at all, since its so little surface area. But yes it will scab up then kind of fall off, After that, its almost healed for real.

I have an American Flag that has white in it that has held for 20 years.

It’s a fairly large piece and I had the white redone on a couple sessions.

It was one day.

Glad I knew it was coming. I'd be a bit concerned otherwise.

Thanks. I think it's almost healed now. Still a little itchy at times, but that's about it. Still putting lotion on it a couple of times a day. The scabbing phase seems to have passed.

I got a tattoo on my Johnson that says “The System.” That way if I’m good in bed or I’m bad in bed, I can blame it on the system.
