I honestly have no idea what will happen with Jones now. The colts just dropped a nuclear bomb on the Jones situation. He’s worth a top 10 pick now but will any team trade for him and give up a top 10 pick and be willing to pay him 22-23 mil?

Absolutely.

There have been a lot of articles online about a potential trade with the Cardinals.

Maybe with grabbing Hopkins, they’re in win-now mode. Maybe we can get the 8th overall pick?

I wouldn’t have thought that was possible until now.

8th overall pick, then trade down to middle 1st. Get more picks. Draft CB, LB, AND more OL to protect Pat, with at least 3 and probably 4 picks now in the top 64.

****ing win.

Don’t see it. Cardinals have about 30 mil in cap space and they just traded for Hopkins and will get a higher contract. Jones won’t fit

Hard for me to see it as well. For me it almost guarantees the Cards go OT at 8. Trading away 8 for CJ still leaves their OL that gave up the most sacks in the league last year a complete mess.

That said I would love to be wrong about that.

I have no clue what will happen rn. I can’t think of any other team that has a DL hole, a top 10 pick and at least 40-50 mil in cap space

Miami has always been our best hope for a good deal where Jones is concerned. They can give us a late 1st and 3rd and imo that would be better than the Colts deal. Whatever though...I'm not rooting for a Jones trade at all.

Me neither. I want Jones to stay. Dude is so dominant. It’s all about the money tho. I trust Veach tho to do what is right for this team

The Browns signed Jack Conklin

So they finally address the ol issues somewhat

When will we know something regarding Watkins and his contract?

Somewhat surprising, TN had 4 big FA this year; Henry (RB tagged) Tannehill (QB signed), Ryan (DB unsigned) and Conklin (OT gone now).

Figured they would let Ryan walk and resign Conklin.

You could take Javon Kinlaw with the 13th pick and he's a carbon copy of Chris Jones

edit: or Derrick Brown

You could, or you could take somebody like Jeudy. That would’ve been the kind of value that makes it worth it.

Since we’re probably not getting anything close to that now, I’m hoping we can get a deal done.

Nothing is certain when it comes to the draft...at least with Jones we KNOW we've got a legit superstar and that's why I'm fine with keeping him.

You can't be fine with keeping him if he wants Aaron Donald money.

This is a sliding scale. My point is this draft has insane talent and if you get a high enough pick replacing Jones with a rookie contract is a no-brainer.

You can say hey what if that draft pick busts? Well if so, you're out a rookie contract.

What if Chris Jones destroys his knee? You're on the hook for an Aaron Donald contract with no production.

BossChief 03-16-2020 03:41 PM

AaronDonalds deal is going to be peanuts in a couple years.

Chris Jones is a ****ing unicorn.

It’s a trade off of pros/cons with those two IMO

Teddy seems more consistent but is also seemingly fragile

Foles comes up big in big games, but looks pedestrian the rest of the time... he does have the benefit of knowing Nagys system though

Not that worried regardless of what happens, because we won the mother ****ing super bowl and I could die happy. But the Ravens are making some solid moves and I really hope Veach doesn't think just maintaining the status quo will do. Almost zero cap room and very few draft picks is a bad mix. The bottom of the roster is in danger of falling off without the resources to address huge holes or lack of depth at positions like OL, CB, LB, RB, etc.

Miami has to spend to get to the cap floor so they can do stuff like this.

The Franchise 03-16-2020 05:28 PM

Chiefs win the SB. FA isn’t even 24 hours old yet.

This. It’s a great move by them. If you have to spend a ton of money, might as well get the best FA available.

LMAO if the Raiders spend big on Harris

They already pay Lamarcus Joyner a lot of money to play inside. Harris makes even less sense there than he does here.

RunKC 03-16-2020 05:31 PM

Broncos clearly made that move for Glasgow bc of Chris Jones. Risner and Glasgow is pretty good for the IOL. About as good as they could hope for.

Red Dawg 03-16-2020 05:32 PM

Veach has earned respect. Let him do what he does.

The bottom of the roster is in danger of falling off without the resources to address huge holes or lack of depth at positions like OL, CB, LB, RB, etc.

What have you seen from Veach that makes you think he’s going to kick back in his chair, feet on his desk, King Carl style and day, “we good”

Dolphins are making quite a splash in free agency.

Sorry can’t embed, but Nate Taylor as of 40 minutes ago:

New story. The Chiefs' didn't jump into the NFL's free-agency frenzy Monday. The Chiefs' plan, though, is simple: Keep the band together & run it back.

According to Nate Taylor that's exactly what he plans on doing, so...
