Yep.
Yesterday was one of the few days in my life I was happy to go to work. Extreme boredom has set in. |

Providing plans etc is not a big deal for most. Calling...NO WAY. Just so she knows-you can get a fake Google number so her kids do not get her real phone number. |

The school my kids go to did not prep properly at all, they're busy trying to find out if the kids even have internet access by sending emails.

Retired nearly 7 years ago. I'm used to sitting on my ass................. ROFL

But kids do have hotspots on phones. Time to use them. |
I'm still getting my 40 hours but it seems its a week to week thing with no guarantees. I think I'll be still at work though my company has deep pockets.
Plus right now I'm deemed essential. |
I am self-employed and already work from home. But work related to trade shows has all been cancelled, including attendance, which is a good chunk of my income. So I've lost work. Next may be rental income lost but so far so good. So I suffering some income losses. Thank god I don't need a whole lot.
No category in the poll applies to me. |
Working remotely, now notified we have to take two weeks of unpaid furlough.

Being the fact that I am a RN means I don't get to huddle in the safety and protection of my home.

My Wife and I were talking about that very thing last night. She tells me "I'm so glad I retired when I did or I would never be home". She was a MSN. |
This’ “essential” list is still weird to me.
Some to me are obvious, others just seem to be self-declarations. In my case, I had already left the Secretary of Defense’s office for other reasons but guys from the shop still ask my opinions.(essential? staff work?) In my Engineering firm board position, the firm is deemed “essential” due to supplying components to large firms. In fact due to this, we have many more contracts (many of which are non-medical) as large firms are moving to lock down their suppliers. In managing, my farms, again determined “essential’. Here,no shit. I’ve also seeing more contract offers (futures) to lock in the prices and supply of corn and soybeans from large food producers. I recently sold/delivered grain from many of my bins. Not my typical volume this time of year, when the fields are not producing. I like having more of a reserve in the bins. Who knew Tostitos was essential? |

I've worked from home for over twenty years, so that part is normal. Not getting on a plane for the last three weeks is absolutely bizarre, however.

Most farmers go to work everyday, especially those of us in remote areas, who dont have to be around anybody but family members. Unless we have to run into local town for parts. Local JD dealer has locked their front doors to customers, if you need parts, they ask you to order from phone, when they have your parts they will call you and you can pick up at front door. Not a real inconvenience.
I normally look up parts online anyway, and give them the part #'s, makes everyones life easier. Were still doing maintenance and repairs on equipment in my shed, too wet to think about any work in the fields. Normally we would be thinking about doing a "burndown" spray to kill weeds in fields we intend to plant in May, but the extended wet weather has put than on hold. |

Casino is closed, it was raining and cold and I cant drink on a Monday morning. |
I could see nothing really new for this last week or so. Teachers that are not used to this need to learn what to do. But after that.....there has to be new content to meet standards that have not been taught.
|
I’m still at work but I’m dumbfounded by the amount of people that deem getting a marriage license or a passport as essential right now.
Stay the **** away from my office, assholes. |

Work going as usual for us. We're deemed an essential service even though there's nothing essential about what we actually do.

All those jobs people said Americans wouldn't do?
Yeah, you're about to see Americans doing them. If they're lucky... |

I was TDY to San Diego for about 8 months and she worked at Rady Children's hospital. As much as I hated SD she loved working at that hospital. We moved back home and I retired but she worked another year at a hospital here in KS (she had worked there for several years before) and she then retired. |
Going on week two of working from home. My wife is also working from home, and the 6 year old is here too. Its been OK, obviously more distracted but I'm getting the work that needs to be done finished. A little worried about how much there will be to do this this goes beyond a month or so.

The JD dealers being open or not was a concern but they sent out an email answering this-again with the essential. These posted link guys in Mo. just underwent a winter re-organization/partnership so that added to the questions of procedures and availability. But, here we go is the bottom line-weather as you mentioned-but that’s a normal part of farming. |

Have been working from home for two weeks now. I was even able to expense a desk and chair and bring all of my equipment home.

So, am I reading correctly in that, even if a city puts forth a stay-at-home order, that non-essential businesses can still have people in the office as long as it's no more than 10 people and must be closed to the public? If so, I could actually remain working through that. There are 4 people in my office, and 1 other who office shares with us. So, 5 people.
|
Yea, but not sure for how long.
|
We got the order to stay at home for the next 30 days. First things my boss says is "I'm not staying at home."

Co-workers and I are discussing closing up our doors just to give the appearance that we're closed.
We don't really deal with walk in customers anyway and there's just a few of us. But if it keeps us away from any friction then maybe it's a good idea. |

She definitely in in charge of the house. We are good, though. We would fall under legal and financial institutions. Even if not, we meet the guidelines for a non-essential business with regard to physical distancing. |

I'm a business owner and I have two employees who open up the office in the mornings. I called the office on Monday morning and was talking with my service manager and he proceeded to tell me his wife had been sick all weekend and that the other guy who works in the office wasn't feeling well. I cut the call short and then I called back and sent them both home. I didn't say it but I thought it. What the **** are you guys thinking? So we're working from home now and we'll get the office cleaned on Monday.
