Laying in bed too.

Saying hi to all my loved ones here on CP.

Bl00dyBizkitz 01-30-2021 09:55 AM

Threw my back out playing with my son last night. Still stiff. Other than that, just peachy.

Had to coach a 9 a.m. flag football game in the pouring rain.
At least we won. The last 5 minutes it could have gone either way. Ball was slipping every which way, kids falling down every play rolling around in goose shit. Good times.

gblowfish 01-30-2021 11:05 AM

Harry Homeowner doing puttering chores. Laundry, fill the dishwasher, putting dinner in the crock pot for later, playing with the kittens. It's all good.

Where at? My 9 year old's game at 10am got cancelled......at 950 after everyone had dressed and was arriving. Lame.

Why Not? 01-30-2021 12:26 PM

Aforementioned football game got cancelled as pretty much any outdoor activities today are for us. If the rain stops, may go for a walk later. Cleaned out the wife's car and am just doing some house stuff. Have a little work at 2pm, then gonna sit around and lament that without football, I have nothing to watch for the next few months. LOL. Oh, we did just get the mini-arcade (it's still like 5ish feet tall) version of Big Buck Hunter for the basement so lots of tournaments between me and my boys all weekend. So far, I suck. My kids finish 1-2 every round. WTF?

neech 01-30-2021 01:55 PM

By the Doppler radar its going to be an all day rain fest with the slowing moving system in place. Mostly a light rain its great napping weather.

HayWire 01-30-2021 02:19 PM

Like most it's all day rain and no sun. Even though it goes against me I said **** it and made a pot of chili and got on the couch.

Trying to get over the rona and my wife is getting sick now. May have been just what we needed

On my 3rd cigar and 4th cup of decaf sitting on the porch this chilly Saturday morning.

I'm being entertained by a ravenous Woodpecker going to town on the palm tree directly across the street. He's been at it for at least an hour.

Yep... and it's a great combo!

I cross-posted into the Bourbon thread a little while back, with the mix that I used -- http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=2522

And Elijah Craig is a dangerous mixer, since it's smooth as hell neat, much less in several ounces of tomato juice..... I really didn't know what to think of it when you mentioned it a while back, but really glad I tried it. It's far better than a typical Bloody Mary!

I remember you being very doubtful about how good it might be!

And to be honest, I felt the same way when I first tried one... "THATS what its made with?" but sure as hell it adds a whole new twist

Glad ya dig it

Elijah Craig is too good to be mixed with anything other than maybe an ice cube or two... maybe. I have a bottle that was part of my groomsman’s gift from my brother’s wedding from like 5 years ago. It’s that good that it has lasted this long as I only sample it for very special occasions.

That being said, a bourbon Bloody Mary only makes sense, especially given how much Worcestershire sauce and horseradish I use to make mine. My Bloody Mary’s get close to a steak in a glass, and bourbon (not Elijah Craig) would be the perfect compliment to that.

Yeah, probably... it's easy enough to find and not crazy expensive, so I don't think much of it the few times I grab it for a mixer. And then I use 2-3 times as much EC as I would most other bourbons just so I know I'm having a drink, and tell myself to stop it.

Yet... it's so good.

Saturday morning was pretty relaxing. Nice and rainy, which I love on a weekend day. Then at 2:30, my 12 year old and I played in his team’s end of the season kids vs parents indoor soccer game. My God. I consider myself to be in at least average shape. I walk a few miles a day and play rec sports and such, but I had no idea what is was in for. Thankfully we could sub in and out every few minutes. 12 year olds never tire.

But the day ended with Joe’s BBQ and a good movie, so all in all, solid Saturday.

Yeah when my daughter turned 5 we had a bunch of kids from her class come to the school gym to have a party. My wife did a fantastic job of getting all these games set up and all this age appropriate fun stuff. Nonetheless all they wanted to do was chase the big guy. No game, no props, no fear of the big guy, no wanting to win some game, just get the big guy. No problem. I’m way faster than 5 year olds. Except they NEVER STOP. I’m sure all the parents were like WTF is going on here Buehler? When they showed up and their kids were draped all over me not wanting to leave.

I get it. Kids man.

Finally found a flag football pickup game in KC. At Shawnee Mission North field which is field turf. It was so much fun to play in a game. Hadn’t played since my last weekend in AZ in late July. I probably had 10-15 years on everyone else playing but I held my own. I’m sure my body will remind me tomorrow morning of my actual age but it was so much fun!

BucEyedPea 04-03-2021 04:27 PM

Humidity below 50% today and 73°, so it's a perfect day to spray paint my wrought iron patio furniture. Humidity only 38% this afternoon and now only 36%. So I did that but ran out of paint. So will go to Lowe's with the so to pick up 7 more cans. I got the table done though. Sanded and degreased it last weekend. Sanded the lounge today.

Feels good to get it done, since I had it on the back burner for a year.

Finished up the early afternoon with another Royals win.

I haven't been woken up by an alarm clock in years. Even on days where I get up by 4:30 to go to the gym....my body just knows as wakes before (usually around 4).

Trying to even just stay in bed past 6 is mostly dependent on the toddler waking up around that time.

I used to be able to sleep in with the best of them. Then I had kids. Now I’m up at between 5:30 and 6 everyday, no matter what. My wife can sleep in and the kids now sleep in (on weekends) but not me. Doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, although that’s gotten drastically different as well (as in it happens much earlier), I will wake up at the same time. Haven’t used an alarm in years. I like it, for the most part, although there are certainly days I wish I could sleep late.
