She made the matrix reloaded, and again, the matrix itself was far more interesting. The reason why revolutions was bad as it was because it spent way too much time on Zion.

This sounds like a total piece of garbage, thanks for the heads up

This. I've come to trust the CP consensus on movies like these over the years. I was planning on seeing this Christmas night, but maybe I'll just go get drunk instead. Sounds like a better payoff, really.

ToxSocks 12-23-2021 12:09 PM

Meh. I'll still watch it.

Still mad that i didn't see Dune when it was on HBO.

ThaVirus 12-23-2021 12:14 PM

Don't let my comments deter you. I always recommend watching to see for yourself.

I'll just say: if you were expecting something groundbreaking on par with the original, dial back your expectations and you might enjoy it.

My only expectations are that the story will be covered in plot armor and the CGI will be terrific.

And those were my expectations before reading any comments. I don't mind dumb movies so long as they're visually appealing enough to capture the imagination.

It is. Movie was a total embarrassment to the Matrix series.

To be fair, that picture is probably 20+ yrs old.

Monica Bellucci is damn near 60 years old these days and has gotten pretty 'angular' as she's aged. I mean still a damn dime for being in her late 50s, but very clearly in her late 50s.

But yeah, it's about damn near impossible to be any hotter than she was in Malena. Late 90s/early 200s Monica Bellucci was pretty near perfection.

Oh cmon. Thats a bit harsh. Its loads better than the 3rd one. If you are a Matrix fan its still a must see.

The only thing that bothers me, as someone else said,is the agent calling him Tom instead or Mr Anderson.

I watched in on HBO Now. Non-spoiler opinion of it is that it was “fine”. You may want to just get drunk and watch some Christmas movie instead, and catch this on a slow day. I sort of half paid attention. It’s better than that piece of shit Matrix 3 but not as good as 1-2 by a long shot. To me, it was kind of like Rocky 6. Not terrible, but more about nostalgia than any great movie. Felt nice to catch up with a few old characters. Not terrible. Not great by any stretch.

I thought the Matrix Resurrections was awesome. I loved it

It's shit with chunks of corn in it. If you like corn, then...well...dig in, I guess.

I was shocked at how good Moss looked after how she looked in Daredevil.

Movie itself was about a 6/10.

She's a really good actress and it appeared the only one bringing her A game to the film.

And if the director was actually tanking this project on purpose as rumored I can at least understand it. I don't agree but it really was their creation and the studio threatening to make it with our without them has to suck.

There was a LOT of wink wink stuff making fun of the fact it is essentially a remake. The whole "never going to be a 4th game" and all that.

CoMoChief 01-05-2022 11:34 AM

This movie was ****ing awful. I was out of town when I saw it and watched it at a local theatre.

Almost walked out. Its a god damn mushy love story between Neo and Trinity.

We've aleady seen that.

This movie didn't need to be made.....at all.

Watched it last night on HBO Max and you're right, there is no reason (outside of a cash grab) that this movie needed to be made.

Fish 01-05-2022 02:17 PM

Did anyone else find it awkwardly cringey how easily Trinity said **** You to her husband and family?

They were computer programs.

Her husband's name was Chad, and she's a 40 something woman looking to free herself. LMAO

Clever writing.

This is all true. The Matrix series wasn't a love story at all and in fact shouldn't have had any love shit in it at all but this movie is all love shit. It was ****ing stupid and dull.

I don't know about that. Love was a huge part of the 1st (and by far best) Matrix movie. The thing was the love story was worked in throughout amazing action sequences & was baked into a well written plot. Just everything about 4 seemed forced. And I really can't remember any action sequences even close to on par with either of the first 2 movies. Leaving it as nothing but a lackluster love story with a few not very good action sequences mixed in.

I've only watched a handful of movies that I regret, 'A.I. Artificial Intelligence' comes to mind. Just think made for TV SyFi Movie. Not cringe worthy but not good.

You won't walk out wanting to poke your own eyes out but don't expect much.

The whole franchise went from great to, well see above.

DJJasonp 01-10-2022 06:03 PM

eh....was entertained.

As others have said - better than 3, but worse than 1 and 2.

Sure-Oz 01-17-2022 03:54 AM

Wasn't bad...I was entertained though. Don't think it needs more movies but it had that nostalgia and it was cool seeing Carrie Ann moss and Keanu back together.

Ehh Id have to disagree...#3 looks like a masterpiece compared to this one.

There wasn't a single thing good about this movie. Couldn't even enjoy the nostalgia because it was so bad.

Yeah I definitely wouldn't put it ahead of #3. (and I don't think 3 was good either)

Honestly I really think the part where they talk about how the executives are going to make the new Matrix game with or without Neo is a not very subtle instance of art immitating life. IMO the Wachowskis were told "we're making a new Matrix movie with or without you" and the one that agreed to do it either mailed it in or flat out sabatoged it so they wouldn't have to make any more.

listopencil 01-19-2022 11:53 PM

Has anyone apologized for making this garbage yet?

Bowser 05-24-2024 12:18 PM

I just got around to watching this, and I have only one question -

What in the ****?

99% sure that was Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick movies. That was a cool touch.

Holy shit i forgot this movie even existed. Can't say ive even seen it advertised on a streaming service etc.

Just rolled in to Netflix, otherwise I'd have forgotten about it as well.

As a matter of fact, I wished I had forgotten about it. Thanks for nothing, Netflix.

Bowser 05-24-2024 12:31 PM

The first half of the movie was somewhat interesting, even if it felt like they tried to smash all three former Matrix movies into an hour and a half. The rest was a rushed and off kilter mess. The guy that played Smith was good, but I never understood the purpose of his character outside of Deus Ex Machina-ing Doogie at the end.

Weird movie; made little sense outside of it being a love story and giving Neo and Trinity their happily every after.

Fish 05-24-2024 01:06 PM

This movie was frustratingly weird. I tried to rewatch it, but it just made me angry.

There were parts that it felt like the movie was making fun of the franchise itself. Just.....completely off and odd?

The same as all the other woke trash.

Looked cheap, terrible writing, undoes all the positives from the previous three, and when it tries to embrace what it once was it looks like parody.

Same as the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, and pretty much every re-entry outside of Blade Runner and Dune...
