Just got off the phone with Wounded Warriors

They're sending me the paperwork to make a donation

Or we can make it over the phone.

E6 and I talked a bit and we want nothing to do with the money side.

I'll be in touch with AC soon to see about streamlining the donations process, and making sure everyone knows everything is above board

Meanwhile, I want you up at 1:15 am for another 5 mile sprint then finish off by knocking a horse clean out... don't be late

Changed the plans a bit.

1 ride was going to be funny.

What's better than 1 ride?

Just talked to the owner....we can have the arena for one night.

He moved the price down to $500 and they'll provide concessions.

Got a call in to a stock contractor to provide the bulls.

Come on CP.......this is all going to wounded warriors.

Plenty of ground and room to tailgate.

A full buck out.

Here's the deal, folks... Haywire is no longer entering himself into a rodeo competition for charity

No, the stakes are much higher now

We are putting on a full blown rodeo at the arena you see pictured above, with multiple bulls and riders, concessions, getting the city in question involved, the works

Hoping to coordinate with BRC and the various Chiefs Kingdom chapters he's involved with as well

Again, this will all be live streamed for the Wounded Warriors charity

Not sure what I've gotten myself into here :doh!:

Kind of gotten out of hand.

Arena knocked down the price.

And providing concessions.

Plenty of room to tailgate and have some fun.

Arena is not far from me. Might be a little a BBQ at my place after.

Heres a question we didn't cover earlier... you're aiming for maybe a two months from now timeline, but that puts the event in the middle of january

How the hell is that gonna work? pretty sure southwest MO isn't warm enough for that... shouldn't we aim for spring?

HayWire 11-17-2021 06:09 PM

I apologize sir.

No snarky intended.

This started as a joke.

Got kinda cranky about it.

I was going to ride 1 bull and donate the money to wounded warriors. Had a stupid idea and rolled with it.

Went and looked at the arena today. 500 to rent for 1 night.

The idea was for donations to wounded warriors.

Now here we are,
A full buck out....talked to a stock contractor earlier. he's bringing me 30 bulls.

Thanks all

1COOLDOG 11-17-2021 08:17 PM

I nominate UNBOUND (www.unbound.org) as the receiving charity. It's a highly-rated, award-winning organization based here in Kansas City which applies at least 91 cents of every donated dollar to actual program services. They provide direct assistance to impoverished families in more than 16 3rd World countries to help them break the chain of living in poverty. They do this by offering college scholarships to deserving students, supporting parents' groups and co-ops so that budding entreprenuers can receive financial assistance to establish their own business to become self-sufficient, and providing needed support to the elderly (UNBOUND is the only organization of its type to offer sponsorships of the elderly). It constantly receives high ratings and awards from charity watchdog groups, and is on Consumer Reports magazine's Top Ten List of Charitable Organizations.

It's good, I'm just not familiar with bull riding terms so I have no idea what a full buck out is.

And FWIW I would come see this and donate to Wounded Warriors.

Have you at all looked into a place to collect donations, like Gofundme?

Get something set up so Chiefsplanet can work it's magic!

Well, personally, I think now that you've found out how much it's gonna cost to rent the arena, it's time to start looking at a way to gather the donations.

How much $ for the 30 bulls from the livestock contractor? Cost for concession food and supplies? Will concession workers be volunteers?

Let's figure out the overhead, and we'll have a rough idea for the goal of donations.

Thats on me, been slacking... hoping I can work something out to consolidate donations, gofundme or whatever works best and is completely transparent

Its also on me to get with BRC to involve his network

The good news is we have until May

TimBone 11-17-2021 08:43 PM

Another huge question...and admittedly, I'm totally naive to this one....if you have other riders, will you need some sort of insurance for the event? In case a rider gets injured?

Might be biting off more than you can chew with that one.

I guess what I'm asking is this...do rodeo events have to have health insurance in the event of injury to a participant?

I grew up around rodeos, but I was too young to be concerned with a question like that.

Just something to consider before going full out on this thing.

Health insurance is not a requirement.

Rodeos have always been ride at your own risk.

I am going to talk to a local hospital today about having an ambulance and EMT at the arena

You don't need to worry about health insurance. You need to worry about liability insurance. Which will be costly for a venue with staff, spectators and animals.

My advice would be to stop working on this now until you have an attorney to represent your interests. If you can't afford one. Grift till you either have enough money for one, or stop the grift and move on before a big hole gets dug.

Grift?

Not sure what you mean by that.

This is 100 percent charity.

Get CP involved, the community involved and donate the money.

I've made several posts and made a few calls to try and find someone to handle the money side.

Last thing I want is for someone to think this is a scam.

The arena covers liability insurance.
The bulls are covered by the contractor

Do you have a flyer, a website? Any thing related advertising. Have you set up a 503c? Do you have insurance for a non-profit? Do you have anything in place to protect yourself from future litigation?

I'm sure Wounded Warriors will gladly take contributions in anyone's name without a rodeo. Maybe they don't want to be associated with that for a variety of reasons. Who really is this Randall guy anyway? Just a CP poster that no one has met? Are we for sure the book and his story is real? Have we seen physical evidence of either?

Why aren't you asking these questions to yourself?

Advertising. Not yet. Trying to get all of my ducks in a row before I get that far.
501C3? Is that what you meant? This is a rodeo. One night thing. The Arena covers the insurance. Stock is covered by the contractor.

Not sure what the Randall part has to do with any of this.

I've asked myself plenty of questions....hence the reason I'm trying to figure this out and thought CP would be a fun place to start.

Webpage....no. Also why I'm asking for help.

Sure...I could flip a $20 to wounded warriors and call it a day......or we can make this a thing.

Lots of great new developments to announce, Haywire has been on fire!

- he has secured a new, and much bigger arena than whats pictured for FREE

- Wounded Warriors is fully on board, the rodeo is getting its own section on their official webpage

- an actual WW will be coming to share a brief message of thanks at the rodeo

- we've been assigned our own personal WW rep

- WW is setting up a QR code on their webpage so that you can all KNOW that your donations are going straight to WW, and not into myself or Haywires pockets

When everything is lined up, we will be posting the links in this thread

We very much want to include the CP name and community in this, and look forward to hearing back from Austin Chief as to how we can accomplish that goal

Thats all for now, more to come!

HayWire 11-19-2021 02:24 PM

Here is where we are

I've dropped the GoFundMe.

I've had a few skeptics. I'm still trying to find someone who will help out.

Wounded warriors called this morning.

Once I register they will setup one of their pages for donations.
They'll do a press release etc.
If possible they will send a vet to speak.
Trying to get it figured out but she said they can give a QR code for admission. Scan and money goes straight to them
.

The arena had been a pain.

Just got back from talking to Longhorn Arena. The owner had 1 request. No outside food or drinks. There is a restaurant on sight.

She asked if we could use the restaurant to eat so they could recoup money.

Probably lay off this for a couple of weeks

Donations will not be accepted for now but I'm more than happy to accept volunteers.

Burgers and beer.....and the cost for the arena....
We'll do donations later but the are

Crap.. editing because I misspoke.

Arena is free..I repeat zero....nada ..zilch

Huge freaking indoor arena.

No outside food or drinks. Need to buy our burgers and beer from them.

HayWire 11-19-2021 02:41 PM

And as I've said before.

This is all charity

Please feel free to PM me if you'd like more info or have any questions.

Sounds like a really awesome thing shaping up guys. Keep up the amazing work. Seriously.

A good friend of mine is a WW. I'm not sure what the dynamics are for WW getting someone to speak but if you end up needing a guy I could surely run it by him and see what he thinks. He's filled his life with kid's sports and helps our community alot after fighting the demons for a bit. He's always been pretty open about it.

He's filled his life with kid's sports and helps our community alot after fighting the demons for a bit. He's always been pretty open about it.

This would be great.

I'd still love to have CP involved somehow

This would be a great start.

I still owe you from 13 years ago :p

I would love for him to help out.

I'd love to talk details.

Uuuh, why?

If CP doesn't want to be "officially" involved, whatevs... we can still promote it here

No biggie.

Didn't realize how hard it was to give money away

Not just CP...I couldn't find any interest..

Went to the arena this morning.

Talked to her and she said it would be a big undertaking.

I agreed. Asked if I could lend a hand for the day.

She said sure. Put me with a farm hand hand taking out trash etc.

Only catch....he's deaf......

Awesome idea....for whatever reason...my son has been learning sign language. Went and got him out of school.

Cleaned out some stalls with him and walked around the arena.

Talked to her Some more about raising money.
She mentioned a rodeo this weekend

Rodeo coming Saturday and I said we'd come help

Free of charge. Charity. Free help. Just want to be a good person.

The catch and why I'm cranky?

I have to pay to work

Not much but **** damn shit ass pussy.

I can't get any interest about raising money and I'm being asked to pay to donate to volunteer?

I'm going to make a donation to wounded warriors in mine and E6s name and call it good.

Maybe Sponge was right. Just be skeptical.

End rant.

Sorry all,
Michael

HayWire 11-22-2021 05:54 PM

And before we put this to rest....

A big thank you to E6

I've bugged him with ideas for the last month.

We actually talk in person. The guy is amazing.

He has a thing for my penis but to each their own.

Everyone else....ever seen someone helping the old lady across the street? We really do exist. You just don't ever see us from the road

Sorry, but this thread is a bit mind boggling.

You guys asked for help and it's almost like you're actively trying to sabotage yourselves despite how many suggestions received, direct responses offering help, step by step directions.

I mean, Bugeater setup a Paypal thing and raised something like 2 grand in a matter of a weekend... this place is amazing when it comes to taking care of their own.

All you've needed to do is figure out how to collect money (and not even set it up) and then tell your story... hell, I even received a rep after offering help that literally said "no, you didn't help".

WTF.

Guess I'm completely missing something or you guys have hit several more road blocks that haven't been mentioned here or that I missed, and the rodeo thing sounds frustrating.... but, unless you're completely out of a place to do this at with zero other options, I guess my one last suggestion would be to read through this thread again, compile notes of all the suggestions and offers for help, then tell us what you've decided (naming the event, a form of donation, etc.), and what you need.

I'm not trying to be a dick... multiple people are on hold to setup a PayPal or whatever if AC couldn't assist or whatever, but there are to-dos prior to that which no one else should do (naming the event, telling your story, etc.). After that, there's seriously very little to do from a CP perspective and I'm sure plenty of suggestions on how videos to upload and what not.

It just seems like the vibe from you two is throwing up your hands at a completely unhelpful CP, when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Just stop with the preaching and scolding, Bearcat

Michael has been on fire putting something ultra legit and positive together, and its still going to happen... just hitting the reset button for a sec, plenty of time left

Bearcat 11-22-2021 07:55 PM

smh... good luck, guys.

All good.

Never meant for it to get to this point.

Yeah, sure...people have thrown ideas.

Not to be a dick.... already done that.

I was wanting CP to be involved somehow.

Went from a funny thing to a complete cluster duck.

I can understand how it looks from your point but it was never intended to be that way.

I seriously just wanted to raise some money for a charity.

I've been to on the phone with contractors, went places, etc.

There was never Ill intent.

Also, not to be a dick...I've sent you PMs and AC as well.

Nuke this shit......my wife told me something will happen just not this.

Everything is good.

Everything is good.

I never received PMs from you and I'm way under the limit, so not sure what happened there.

Good luck. I'm sure something will work out.
