The Chiefs defense is legit and the Chargers offense is also shorthanded. You failed to mention that 2nd part. |

This all started with people talking about the Chargers scoring 30, which isn't likely to happen given the circumstances, especially since they only managed 30 in the first game, against an awful defense, and they were fully healthy. |

Chargers are in a world of hurt. |
Nervous energy today. Too many key players out...variables are whacky in this one.
KC offense plays to its potential, it will be a double-digit victory. Offense plays down again, and repeats past mistakes (dropped passes, tipped passes for INT), we lose a close one. If Jones plays, all bets are off. CJ + Melvin Ingram = devastation of the banged up Chargers OL. Herbert will be hit and pressured regularly. |

Much like the Chiefs offense, if you take away the big plays and force Herbert to be patient in the pocket you have a much better chance of stopping them. |

Before you say anything about defenses against the Chiefs offense, bear in mind that drops are a huge part in the Chiefs stalling drives. Guess what team leads the league in drops? |

The last time we played….
Reed wasn’t playing as well as he has been. Clark wasn’t Clark. We didn’t have Ingram on this team. Thornhill wasn’t really playing. Fenton wasn’t playing that much. We had 4 turnovers. They still barely won. Can they beat us? Sure…it’s possible. But this isn’t the same ****ing team from early in the season. |

Second game this season I will miss live due to work. Hopfully I wake up with a smile on my face checking the score!

The Chargers actually played really well in the first matchup. Herbert was great. Their receivers caught ****ing everything. Ekeler had a good Ekeler game. They took advantage of every dropped pass from our receivers. They converted a 4th and 9 late (on a DPI). We moved the ball well on their defense, but that’s just what their defense is. They are ****ing terrible against the run. Our OL and RBs are healthy, so we’ll have success on the ground. Our success from last game is VERY repeatable. Our failures from last game are VERY correctable: -limit turnovers -get pressure on Herbert (very likely with Ingram and Clark against their OTs) -contain Ekeler (he’s gimpy and their OL has issues) |
I'm predicting we hold them to under 17 points

If the idea of trotting Mike Remmers and Andrew Wylie out there as starting OTs terrifies you, then keep in mind that the duo the Chargers will start tonight is worse.

The defensive playbook is much larger than it was when they played the first time. The defense is on a whole different level, not just in execution but in strategy. I think they have some interesting stuff in store for Herbert. |
I’d really love to see another Raiders type game. Just work them and make it not even close.

Spags lined up Ingram and Clark on the same side a handful of times recently with Ingram out super wide and Clark inside him. I bet we'll see that tonight since the Chargers will likely be chipping with an RB on the left side of their line.

Not to be a debbie downer, but I'll be attending the game tonight.
For anyone superstitious out there the Chiefs will lose in an epic game tonight. The other 2 Chiefs games I've been to? @Oakland 2017 @Rams 2018 |

It is FATAL! |
we're good, you guys!
The two Raiders games this season, I wore a simple red Chiefs hoodie for the game. Usually, I wear my Len Dawson throwback jersey, as I did most of the 2019 season. (and the previous 20+ seasons, to be fully transparent.) That jersey has obviously acquired some bad Juju. But the simple Chiefs hoodie has apprently got mucho juice. I'll wear it tonight, so we'll win by 30+. No worries. Put all your savings on the Chiefs plus the points. |

“Oh ok so look at the Chiefs during their win streak notice how they’ve won by 10+ against all of their division opponents but could barely beat the Jordan Love Packers? They feast on their weaker division but struggle against real teams still!!” |

I had a dream last night, and I never dream......
I was at tonight's game in Los Angeles. Pat Mahomes was a boss, and threw for 350 and 3TD's. Our D was leaky, but held on LA's last drive: Good Guys 34 Bolts 27 |

Posted this in the CJ thread but putting it here too in case it inspires hope:
With the important caveat that many private planes have their tail numbers blocked so they don't show up on these sites, this is the only private jet leaving from KC Wheeler to LA today as far as I see: https://www.radarbox.com/data/flights/XSR718/1702523605 Would get in ~90 minutes before gametime. Sofi is a 20 min drive from the airport. |

No matter what happens, just a reminder of where this team was a decade ago. I'm grateful for what we have now. At least we always have a fighting chance.
