What’s even more hilarious is that they all believe he is still THAT guy that humiliated them all those years ago . . . . . .

Donko fans and Russty apparently have the same amount of self awareness.

Or they believe their defense is as good as the Legion of Boom..and have resurrected Marshawn Lynch from the dead.

Moobs only had 206 yards..and Manning has 2 INTs.

43 points off 206 yards passing is a pretty clear indication that your defense/ST won the game for you...

I certainly don't think the defense is LOD level and as far as Lynch, I'll take Williams and Gordon and be happy. SEA won the SB when Marshawn was the lynchpin for that ground game (rock me)... they had about 2100 rushing yards and 14 rushing TDs that season. Wilson had 500 yards rushing.

Wilson doesn't need to be that ground threat... Williams and Gordon combined for 1900 yards and 12 TDs last season, they'll increase that mark and provide solid options in the passing game.

Lynch had 1600 total yards (1200 rushing) and 14 total TDs. I think Williams alone gets almost there on yards and should could close to those total TDs as well.

Let's be honest, that SB was a shitshow from the first play. That first drive was followed by multiple turnovers and punts - the Seahawks' offense just had to pivot the game plan at that point to chew up the clock and pound them into submission. Wilson wasn't really required to do much - he was 18 of 25 for 206 yards and 2 TDs.

Mahomes was 26 of 42 for 286 yards with 2 TDs, 2 INTs and a rushing TD in his SB win.

It's not like he was much more glamourous... he had to actually work for it for 4 quarters. I'm sure he would have preferred not needing to score 10+ points to win it in the 4th.

We can go back and forth on who looked better or who was more impactful in their Super Bowl win, but bottom line, both guys got the job done when they had to and helped bring home the trophy. Russ was much more athletic back then, but there's no question he benefitted from playing with an all time defense. Something Mahomes has never had in his NFL career. He and the offense have had to carry the water for this team from Day 1 when he became the starter. The defense has had its moments, but overall the last 4 years has not been a good unit. Anywhere from average to really bad.

That said, Mahomes is young, fairly athletic and two years removed from his Super Bowl win, one year from a second Super Bowl appearance and coming off four straight conference Title games. There's no reason to think he won't be back again soon, as long as the Chiefs keep drafting well.

Russ hasn't sniffed a Super Bowl or even conference Title game since 2015. Same for Denver who has been awful since Manning rode off into the sunset. Both are 7 years removed from any true meaningful game. So now the coming together of these two are going to produce regular playoff appearances and Super Bowls? Yeah, not buying it. Especially in a much improved division where now it's not only the Chiefs you have to get through.

Good luck, though, I guess . . . . . .

It may not produce a SB win, nothing is a guarantee... Pat may never get back, Marino never did. Denver is a better team now than in 2021 - that's all I can ask for and hope they do the right things to stay competitive going forward. The division is a beast - same for the AFC as a whole.

TomBarndtsTwin 07-22-2022 02:16 PM

Oh I get nothing is guaranteed. I'm just trying to understand how Russ thinks Denver + Russ = Lombardi, going off our last 7 years of data for both.

Yes, Denver is a better team. But the AFC West is now a better overall division, so it may not matter now. You're still 3rd or 4th, likely.

His first season hasn't begun and Wilson is already too easy of a target. About over it

RealSNR 08-17-2022 10:04 AM

I keep having to check myself and ask, "Since I never really hated Russell Wilson before, is it just because I didn't pay attention to his antics, or is it because he now plays for the Denver Broncos?"

I mean, the answer is obviously both, but my self-analysis has revealed that it's mostly because I didn't realize what a dbag he is. The guy is just on another level with that shit, man.

I'll make fun of Herbert for being the media's favorite QB in spite of his precisely zero pelts on the wall, sure. And I'll make fun of his acne. And I'll continue to laugh at the Derek Carr crying on the field gifs and the mascara jokes and all that. But when it comes down to it, I do respect both of those players, and they both manage to not be annoying attention whore pieces of shit.

Wilson? No. He doesn't deserve any respect.

Considering that Chiefs and Broncos are the only franchises to win AFC West since 2010, it would not be a shock if Broncos win a wild card round game before the Chargers or Raiders ever do.

This pretty much sums up where I am at.

Although I would say that Wilson's ability to scramble around and his deep ball were worthy of respect at one time but I don't know how much of that is left.

Some years he was also a reasonably good bargain in fantasy football. But this isn't one of those years.

And it’s still amazing that there are media dipshits out there that would rather watch New England media types grumble over their bland toast being overcooked than lean into the coolness of mahomes. And kelce while we’re at it

Mahomes takes shit for his brother being goofy online. Wilson, OTOH, IS Jackson Mahomes online.

Somehow I'm more annoyed by him using the TV remote as a pointer than I am anything else in that clip.

Looks like he's had a stroke which could explain the 1 yard line being his nemesis

Do you think he knows he is a douchebag? Like he’s in on the joke right?

No I don't think he does...he's like a really cringey youth pastor that plays QB.

FlaChief58 09-15-2022 11:22 AM

I can't stand the donkeys, but I'm genuinely embarrassed for them

Mecca 09-15-2022 11:23 AM

Imagine Aaron Rodgers saying:

Packers country, lets pack

DrunkBassGuitar 09-15-2022 11:24 AM

Fudge country, let's pack

penguinz 09-15-2022 11:24 AM

Has to be one of the cheesiest and most unlikable people in the NFL.

Except that was natural during a game. This douche is scripting it for a hype video on social media.

Sassy Squatch 09-15-2022 11:47 AM

Man, he just gives off the energy of being a giant ****ing phony. Tries to come off as a humble man of faith but everything he does screams typical elitist douchebag, buying the literal most lavish home in Denver to getting primped and preened while the press sits and waits for his comments after a quite frankly embarrassing loss where he deflects all criticism and says he did his job well

His selfishness in the Seahawks organization is pretty well documented at this point and I could see it turning South incredibly quickly in Denver, both for his teammates and the organization, if he doesn't deliver some immediate results.

Aaron Rodgers is a ****ing ****, but I can at least respect the fact that he's genuine. Not a single thing that comes out of this chodes mouth seems remotely genuine and it's more just synthetic philanthropist bullshit. In that sense he's probably the quintessentially perfect QB for an organization owned by the Walton family.

I'm so happy that the rest of the world is finally waking up to what an enormous cheesedick that fruitcake is. I feel vindicated. In the past when I'd tell people I absolutely couldn't stand him they'd look at me like I was crazy.
