It would never get this high if they did. I never buy lottery tickets until it gets up to $700 million or so. I know the odds are long and its probably a waste of money for a mere $50 million.

Sure I could live on $50 million very comfortably but I don't want to spend money on lottery tickets all year.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the current format. If one person wins, they suddenly have more money than they can possibly use to improve their life. You almost can't even give that much money away in a reasonable manner.

I would say yes, but then I see the shows about complete idiots winning ridiculous lotteries and how they blow it all in under a year, lol.

2+ billion is new territory, though, so who knows. I'd believe anything at this point - did a bunch of results get trucked in at 3am, or are these machines owned by Dominion??

https://www.nj.com/lottery/2022/11/p...ter-delay.html

The Powerball winning numbers for the record $2.04 billion jackpot were drawn Tuesday morning after a 10-hour delay caused by a participating local lottery failing to submit its sales data in time for the drawing scheduled for Monday night (11/07/2022).

The winning Powerball numbers drawn are: 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56. The Powerball was 10 and the PowerPlay was 2x.

The Powerball drawing, typically broadcast live on television stations across the country and Youtube just before 11 p.m. three nights a week, failed to happen as scheduled Monday night. One of the 48 participating lotteries “had not finished processing its sales and play data,” according to Powerball officials.

Powerball officials said all participating lotteries are required to submit that information before the drawing can take place. The lottery that caused the delay was not named.

“Powerball has stringent security requirements to protect the integrity of the game and remains committed to holding a drawing that gives all players a fair chance to win,” Powerball officials said.

Did you know that for every one dollar a state makes on legalized gambling, on average they pay out 4 dollars for all of the infrastructure and support that goes into it.

They're preying on the poor and vulnerable. Gambling is a blight on society.

To put the odds in perspective.

You would need to pick the correct "INCH" in 4,611.76 miles. (63,360 inches in a mile) This would equative to picking the correct inch between KC and the East Coast of Russia.
