Didn't realize that Uncle Bob was their DC. That makes things more interesting.
I believe that the last time Mahomes faced Bob's defense Pat struggled a bit. Not that surprising, all things considered. I think it should be noted that KC probably would've won the TEN game by two scores if not for the multiple errors the offense made in the first half. I mean, yeah the Titans defense played at a very high level and blunted the Chiefs' efficiency, but KC also shot themselves in the feet multiple times in the first half with penalties and just missed opportunities. In short, KC played a sloppier game offensively than they usually do. I don't know if the JAX defense can replicate the level of discipline and physicality of TEN. But I also don't think KC makes the same number of self-inflicted mistakes two weeks in a row. Guess I'll have to actually watch some JAX film to see what the stats aren't revealing. |

In terms of Bob Sutton, the game you are remembering was in 2020 against the Atlanta Falcons at Arrowhead. KC was heavily favored before that game. Falcons were having a bad season, as usual for them lately. The game was ugly as hell. Falcons had a very good chance to win. They had a 14-10 lead with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. https://www.espn.com/nfl/recap?gameId=401220223 |

Jim Nantz and Tony Romo have the call for the #Chiefs vs #Jaguars game. Tracy Wolfson is the field reporter.

This is going be too close for comfort for me, I mean 43 -3 I want it to be 69-0.
|
Not a prime time game, no reason for the NFL to keep this one close. Chiefs roll!!
|
Smoot is the DL guy I would watch...he can be a disruption at times. Walker is still a rookie and can make rookie gaffes at times. But don't mistake this Jags team for a defensive stalwart like the Titans.
On offense stopping Etienne will be key but Bolton and Gay could be the key here. Some of you give Kirk more credit than you should....and their TE's are average at best. Their O Line is good but can whiff at times and Lawrence can be erratic at time...overthrown passes, not reading past first read....locking in on initial receiver....but he can and will run. |

I just learned this but get this nugget.
Jags as a Franchise wins 183 Andy Reid career wins 239 |
They nearly made it to the Super Bowl four years ago. They've lost a ton of talent on that defense. Most notably Ramsey. Their offense was never great.
|
I don’t care about recent results…I’m going to keep predicting comfortable wins vs the AFC South.
Lawrence is in for a struggle and Mahomes will do what Mahomes does. 31-16. |

I feel a bit better about this game, looking back at the schedule.
The Chiefs only scored 17 against the Colts. They followed it up by blowing out the Bucs. They only scored 20 against the Bills and followed it up by blowing out the 49ers. They scored 20 against the Titans. :hmmm: |

Watched some JAX highlights/analysis last night.
Their DL is legit, but not on the same level as TEN. They're top-10 vs. the run. their secondary isn't very good, especially in man. Consequently, they play a lot of zone.:D Brett outlines all of this here: <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/EhS83zPLfEI" title="How the Chiefs Schematically MATCH UP vs. Jaguars" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
What do we need to watch out for with the Jags?
Haven't seen a moment of them this year. |

Their best offensive player is ETN. He's kind of like Josh Jacobs. Trevor can run. Like Josh Allen (BUF). Another big, fast running QB. We're going to play more contain probably. |
37-17 chiefs

Should be a win. We are better than they are for sure. Every week you must focus and play hard and I think we will.

NFL top defensive line rankings at mid season
1. 49ers 2. Bills 3 Titans 4. Chargers 6. Jaguars The Chiefs have faced the 4 best offensive lines in their first 8 games. The Jags are number 6. After week 10, they will have played 6 out of 10 games against top 6 defensive lines. It's amazing that they have the number one offense yards and scoring against that schedule. And, not surprising, they have struggled to run the ball. |
Quote:
He's a real threat, though. Lawrence seems to struggle when he has to go off-script. He has turned it over in the red zone a lot. That seems like a bad matchup against a Steve Spagnuolo defense... |

If Fortson is back we should be 100% for this game.
|
I think Saunders and Hardman will make it.

Saunders was excused for non-football related personal reasons. I would imagine he'll be good to go provided those reasons don't linger and result in him missing more practice. |
We have this uncanny knack of playing down to our competition. We should blow them out and be able to rest some guys in the 4th quarter. That said, Chiefs 27-jags 24

Lawrence has a tendency to get in his own head. If he misses receivers at the beginning of the game he tends to stay wild. His running is good but Gay and Bolton could counter that issue. |

The only real chance JAX has is if KC just shits the bed for most of the game. They can't go toe-to-toe with the Chiefs if KC is playing to their average. They have to hope the Chiefs play a terrible game from beginning to end. I don't see that happening, but of course, AGS.

And if they're a zone team ( I really haven't paid much attention to JAX to be honest, I have little idea what's going on over there) that should be a good Juju situation. If our OT's block, we should win. |

If yer gonna say it, get it right. |
Lawrence looks like a dink-and-dunk pussy. Chief's defense will destroy him.
|
This is going to be a close ball game. 9.5 seems quite high. I think we win by about 6.
The Jags have been very competitive in every single game they've played. They'll hang around. |
Sunday noon games seem such a luxury now

Pretty much every NFL team is competitive this year. |
Some notes:
As expected, wide receiver Mecole Hardman (abdomen) did not practice on Wednesday (more on that here). After taking an excused personal day on Wednesday, defensive tackle Khalen Saunders was a full participant on Thursday. One new thing to monitor: cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (knee) was downgraded to limited after his full practice on Wednesday. Even if he remains limited in Friday’s practice, he might still play on Sunday — but if so, he would probably be listed as questionable for the game. We’ll see what Friday brings. As a reminder: Though offensive lineman Lucas Niang (knee) returned to practice last week, he does not appear on the injury report. He remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list (more on that here). Safety Rayshawn Jenkins (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He was upgraded to being a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. That’s a clear step toward being ready to play in Kansas City — but we’ll see what happens on Friday. Tight end Evan Engram (back) was again limited on Thursday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Gonna be a close game I think. The Chiefs are like 0-5 ATS at home this year.
|
Found it.
Betting nugget: Kansas City is 0-4 ATS at home this season. Mahomes is 15-19 ATS in his career at home, including 3-8 ATS in his past 11 home games. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ies-stats-know |
