Independence seems pretty neutral to me... Why can't we rewrite the rules as we see fit?

We could probably convince all of the fans to wear white. That's neutral.

Exactly what I was thinking. The AFC Champion (hint: rhymes with Mansas Pity Beefs) would have to forfeit the Super Bowl due to not enough healthy players.

LOVE the location/stadium, hate the field.

I maybe an old **** but back in the 60’s, the Rose Bowl was the crown jewel of stadiums.

The field is perfection and the weather is gorgeous.

chiefforlife 01-09-2023 08:21 PM

Someone mentioned that Clemson has a new stadium, supposed to be world class? That might be cool?

Play it in Cincinnati just to piss them off…

likely in that order

Cincy,
Would love to go and thank all the fans for letting us play at their stadium since they aren’t using it.
“Who Dey”?

TwistedChief 01-09-2023 08:44 PM

Rose Bowl. Would be an epic and unique atmosphere.

Second would be the LA Coliseum.

Third Vegas.

Stryker 01-09-2023 08:54 PM

In no particular order...

Las Vegas
Los Angeles
Dallas
New Orleans
Atlanta

Put us in a dome environment with no weather conditions. Fair to both teams and awesome venues.

This is true. Bleacher seats too.

Coochie liquor 01-09-2023 09:04 PM

I made 3 choices.

First was Dungver. Patrick has never lost there, and how blessed do you think Dungkeys fas would feel having the savior punch another ticket to the SB on their home field? It would be close to when Emperor Sellasie I visited Jamaica, like the savior coming home!

Second was Chokeland, I mean Vegas. Again, our record there is impeccable under Mahomes. We would own the Bills (if they actually make it that far….. they won’t) on that field. I mean we own that field soooooo……

Third was a very selfish choice. Tampa. Right in my back yard. Would love to attend a AFCCG in a much warmer climate than Arrowhead (which I’ve never seen a game at). Bring it home for Coochie, and FlChiefsfan, and ThaVirus, and Diqlix , and all of us Floridians!!

tredadda 01-09-2023 09:57 PM

Denver
LV
LA

I picked Denver first because I love seeing the Broncos suffer and the thought of going to the SB on their turf while they watch at home is amazing. After that LV and LA for similar reasons. I just dislike Denver more than the other two teams. Also Denver just dropped $400K on new turf.

Vegas or Arizona! Went to AZ a couple years ago for College Playoffs and the stadium was great! Grass field only, please. Turf doesn’t belong in the NFL.

A Salt Weapon 01-10-2023 12:32 AM

I like the idea of Kauffman and if it hasn’t been mentioned, Allen Fieldhouse sounds pretty good. Following that we have 2 turf fields here locally so I’ll go for those as 3/4 in no particular order, either one can hold probably 1300 fans so housing would be easy to accommodate. Number 5 will go to Seattle as I could fly down for that.

Butker and McDuffie both got injured on that Arizona field because of its poor quality. And that stadium has literally zero personality.

We'll be there for the Super Bowl, but thankfully not before.

oldman 01-10-2023 03:12 AM

As mentioned earlier, Indy is out because of some scheduling conflict. There was another dome out because they were going to redo the turf. I think it was Detroit. No way would I play that game in SoFi due to the number of injuries that happened this year. Also mentioned earlier, Arizona had some turf injuries for us. There could be a conference title game at any of the top 4 seeds, so that cancels out Tampa, Philly, Minnesota, and the Levi in the NFC.

It would have to be a place with a lot of empty hotel rooms, so Vegas, Atlanta Dallas, Houston, and NOLA would fit. Smaller cities like Jax, Cleveland, etc. may not have the number of hotel rooms to accommodate 2 fan bases on short notice.

chiefsfaninky 01-10-2023 07:50 AM

Since it would be the AFCCG, I feel it only fitting that it is played in an AFC city....Nashville works for me

saphojunkie 01-10-2023 01:54 PM

Vegas is the easy choice.

it won't be in any city that has a team in the playoffs. Too much planning without knowing the stadium - and hotels - will be vacant.

Vegas has the infrastructure in place to readily accept tens of thousands of visitors on little notice.

I don't think Godell will go for that, in large part because it is an AFC West Stadium, and would be deemed not neutral because KC plays an in season game there. Gotta make it fair for the quitters.

If you're going by places where neither team has played this year, that would eliminate:

Arizona
Baltimore
Chicago
Cincinatti
Denver
Detroit
Houston
Indianapolis
Las Vegas
Los Angeles
Miami
New England
New York
North Carolina
San Francisco
Tampa Bay

True.

And perpetually good weather would eliminate any travel concerns there.

myselff77 01-10-2023 02:41 PM

Chicago is about the only place, that hasn't already said no, that makes sense if the NFL wants someplace somewhat in the middle that both team's fans could get to. Especially if the early reports are true that the NFL desires to play in an open air stadium. Vegas would be nice since it's easily accessible with plenty of flights.

While both those places make logical sense, the game will be in Pittsburgh and a homecoming for Hamlin who will be in attendance.

It’s not like we’ve played there a bunch of times. They’ve only been in Vegas for a couple of years, and the first year didn’t even have fans. I don’t think they’d avoid playing it in Miami just because it’s an AFC east stadium.

It’s also the closest stadium to Buffalo and is only a 3 hour drive away. Cleveland did host the 1986 AFCCG, although it was in their old stadium.

ptlyon 01-10-2023 03:46 PM

The side you pick after the coin toss would be crucial

penguinz 01-10-2023 04:23 PM

I pick Arrowhead. Bills have a wining record there over the past two seasons so that seems neutral enough to me.

Oxford 01-10-2023 04:34 PM

Jack Murphy stadium, San Diego
Oakland Alameda county Coliseum, Oakland
Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome, Minneapolis

GloucesterChief 01-10-2023 04:46 PM

Really Vegas, Houston, and New Orleans are probably the only viable options. Unless they go the college route and pick like Ohio Stadium, Death Valley (either of them), or The Swamp or something.

That said, why didn’t they just flip a coin with our home game the way they did with the Bengals?

Did you not see what happened to Hamlin? It traumatized the Bills so much that they could not only finish the game, but also asking them to re-live it possibly in Cincinnati is too much. Just give them the #2 seed and a home game against Cincinnati “for Hamlin”.

he's hit or miss historically. some would say more miss than hit. but can't imagine the nfl would allow for the northeast options under apparent consideration (chiefs would throw a fit).

atlanta new stadium and being the south's version of indy as far as hotel accommodations makes it a viable option if playing the guessing game.
