refs didn't call a worse penalty on our first punt of the game, where he was obviously held

Eleazar 02-12-2023 11:52 PM

Refs had a really good game. There was only one call anybody will talk about, and even the player himself admitted he was guilty.

Too bad their GRAND PLAN TO SEND CHEFFERS TO RIG THE GAME AGAINST THE CHIEFS didn't work :whackit:

Hell, if the Refs were throwing for the Chiefs they could of called Lane Johnson false starting on at least 90% of Phillys snaps.

They let that happen leaguewide now. It's nearly impossible for a DE to win a snap when the tackles can jump out into their stance that early. I'm sure it's part of their "protect the QB at all costs" initiative.

He likely did. Juju had Bradberry completely beat there for an easy touchdown if he didn't grab.

The refs kept the whistles away for most of the game. They set the precedent for what they were going to call earlier. Missed hold on Bradberry on Juju, missed PI on the overturned Smith deep drop. The refs set the tone, and the players play accordingly.

That penalty at the end, while could have been called in other games, should never have been called in this game because of precedent, and since it ended the game given the time and location. Anyone think the KC defense could stop the Philly offense with 2 minutes left and 4 downs to just get into FG range? Hurts was the MVP even in a loss, Mahomes cried to get a call (guess he'll be the new Brady), and is a drama queen faking his ankle injury. Don't believe me? Check out the trends on Twitter to see how the rest of the world is reacting. Or stick your fingers in your ears and pretend like you deserved that win.

I'll admit the holding was bogus the second an Eagles fan admits the catch fumble that was returned for a TD was a catch.

The refs and Butker spotted you 10 ****ing points and you still lost.

CupidStunt 02-13-2023 07:10 AM

It's actually funny how similar the game was to Cincy: in both games KC was getting the worst of the calls and non-calls, but then 1 call at the end against the opponent -- BOTH CORRECT -- has everyone shitting themselves.

Obviously the timing matters, there's no denying we're fortunate the opponent screwed up and the refs called it, but people are TOTALLY IGNORING the butterfly effect if they would've called earlier plays correctly, like the blatant hold on Juju on a critical 3rd down. As an OCD/analytics type, this really triggers me, how stupid stupid stupid people (i.e. 99.9% of humans) gleefully turn a blind eye to 59 minutes of the game and then act like 1 play at the end is everything.

Overall it was a decently officiated game (considering the usual standard), and if either team has more tape to send to the league for complaining, it's EASILY the Chiefs. And guess what? They overcame it, as all historically great types of teams do.

I’m actually surprised that the early reaction, at least on ESPN and nfln, is that the hold isn’t universally controversial. The only complaint is that they weren’t calling it all game.

I'll type slower for you....

I even said that in other games that would be a penalty. THAT WASN'T THE PRECEDENT ESTABLISHED IN THIS GAME. They let pulls and turns and otherwise PI go all game. Every game the players have to figure out what that reffing crew will allow and won't allow. Then they play to that standard. The ref who threw the flag abandoned that precedent that had been established the whole game. That's why EVERYONE outside of the Chiefs fan base thinks it was the wrong call.

Interestingly it’s the ex defensive players that seem to support the call the most. Even Bart scott said so. He said it’s a whip route so the last holding was actually worse than jujus earlier missed holding, because on the later penalty it totally disrupted timing

Geez you guys are slow. They do that all the time because a turnover will be automatically reviewed. If they call it incomplete it's not reviewable. Then if they get it wrong there's no going back. If they call it a fumble on the field they can review it and get it right. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.

They literally don’t. Tons of people are defending the call. The difference was the double move. He didn’t let him release on the redirection. That type of play is all timing. He significantly disrupted the timing

Show me a double move where they were allowed to hold like that in the game.

This argument is so stupid.

This thread was maybe 5 percent of the posts last night. Seems about right.

IT WAS AN EPIC FINISH, unfortunately for America, they wanted to see Hurts get the game winning drive and not Mahomes.
This complaining is all because people hate Mahomes.

Same thing we wished for when the Patriots were the dynasty. Chiefs are now America's favorite team to hate and I love it.

Just watched Domonique Foxworth, Bart Scott and Ryan Clark (all defensive players) say it was the right call.

Have you tried crying more? That should help. It’s definitely making the rest of us feel better. Your tears are absolutely delicious.

They brought up an interesting point that mahomes threw to the right spot. It was so far off because juju had to adjust into a wheel route because of the hold.

If the Eagles are so great why did two  receivers torch them for TD's?

Sassy Squatch 02-13-2023 07:46 AM

Man, I want some more Eagles fans like that dude last night. That was some deep seated degeneracy LMAO

Because that is how this should be called every time. Let it play out and be reviewed.

Even Bolton said he knew it wasn't a catch but was trying to sell it to the refs.

How about we stick the 2 Lombardi Trophies we've won since 2020 in our ears instead of our fingers? Or do you want them for your ass?

Maybe Philly should worry about the fact that KC scored two walkin TD's off the same exact play. neither time was a defender even close.

I’m actually surprised that the early reaction, at least on ESPN and nfln, is that the hold isn’t universally controversial. The only complaint is that they weren’t calling it all game.

That and Olson gave a rant about how it wasn't holding and fox really never went back to show the complete play. Sort of just let it slide and gave the impression the call was the cotact at the end and not the hold on the cut.

Oh, Gannon's defensive scheme was horrible, like I expected. No excuses there.
