I'm not giving up as much as looking to the future to protect all the great pieces we have. It's just that there is so much wrong, even Mahomes can't overcome it all. |
What is being seen is beyond belief.
Generational talent at QB. An undisputed top 10 head coach. An above average to legitimately good defense in the free agency era. And everything looks like dogshit. |

As if we needed the Scho's secret Chiefs decoder ring to tell us the Chiefs have fallen off after dropping winnable games this season and losing to a bad Chiefs team at home. Thanks for the insight. |

You Sunshine Pumpers need to stop. You think just because our D is good and we have Mahomes, that will always give us a ‘puncher’s chance’ to win a Superbowl. Y’all are delusional. This isn’t basketball where one man can carry a team to the championship. We have a ‘puncher’s chance’ in a single game playoff but no way can this offense be relied to execute for us to go 4 - 0 in the playoffs. The offensive tackles are hot garbage, the wide receivers are a hot, steaming pile of crap, the running game is average and Mahomes is rattled and playing ‘on tilt’. As far as I’m concerned, I’d be cool with them losing out, put us out of our misery and move up the draft order.

Andy's coaching this season has not been very good. The constant penalties and turning the ball over falls on coaching for not disciplining these guys enough. There is talent in the offense, enough to overcome in close games. The losses have come primarily from the lack of discipline. Penalties and turning the ball over.
Discipline was key to the cheatriots long term success. Belichick would not stand for his players being dummies on the field and costing the team games. All of our losses have been due to penalties and turning the ball over. The fire is there from the players. The self discipline is not. |
It's gotten to the point where most human beings are so stupid that I hate humans.
Thanks twitter and facebook. GO chiefs. |

This team has been flat since week one. No fire. No desire. Mahomes is the only player with a pulse. Reid isn’t a “tough love” kinda guy but that’s what this team needs and that’s where we need EB. Someone who wasn’t afraid to get in Mahomes face. Someone who didn’t mind keeping guys on edge. This holding hands kumbaya Nagy shit is disgusting. We are begging for mediocrity in what should be peak Mahomes time

Set aside seeing the Chiefs look like butt****ing morans for a second.
What's arguably as bad as this situation is the implication that the Belicheat / Brady Patriots dynasty is unquestionably the highest achievement in pro football ever. Mangini, Bill O'Brien, Matt Patricia.... Scott ****ing Pioli. They're the modern day version of the 1972 Dolphins in terms of smugness if my hypothetical is assumed to be true because Mahomes + Reid aren't enough of a force to prove otherwise by "only" having five straight AFCCG appearances and going 2 for 3 in SB appearances. |

Of course nobody who talks about how well the Chiefs are playing when they are playing well that would be stupid as hell... Conversly? Someone who posted... "Do yourself a favor and be honest with yourself. You see it, you feel it and you know it. This team has no chance to lose in the playoffs. Don't try to tell me anything can happen, because it really doesn't. Yeah, a bad play here or there or maybe a loss against a great but even now that is unlikely." Would be mocked here and for good reason. |

Plenty of us here in AZ all get together and continue to do so. All nice people. The guy you are referencing is long gone and banned on CP. Go track him down and go hang with him. Maybe you can make a friend. ROFL |
Won’t surprise me if they lose the first game and it won’t surprise me if they’re back in the Super Bowl. Are they going to average 35 ppg in the playoffs? Probably not. But with this defense, they can win 20-17 if they don’t fumble snaps and throw pick sixes.
Playoff Mahomes is focused and takes it up a notch, and this is the first time he’s had a defense that can hold a good offense under 20 points. It’s not hopeless. |

Sounds kinky!! |
My eyes tell me that this entire organization was prideful and put themselves on a pedestal. Every one of them. Mahomes, Kelce, Andy and Veach.
It only started with Veach and Andy thinking they could do last years plan again with Juju exiting and it would work. Kelce started getting on SNL and hasn't been as focused on football as he has been, Mahomes has gotten lazy and erratic and Andy can't fix simple problems. He's lost some of these guy in the locker room. I almost want this team to get carpet bombed at home by the Bills in the playoffs so they have anger and urgency to play well like last year when they had something to prove. But there's a clear deficiency of talent on offense. That's the biggest takeaway. They need to go full bore to fix that shit. |

So, we get threads like this (twice in 3 weeks now) telling people how to feel and how we need to "turn the page" (what do I do with my hands?)... gatekeeping, as Tex said.... or as Tex has done, gloating in threads like he's the smart one because for the first time since Mahomes has been a starter, the sun has shined on that miserable ass and dude's pretty damn giddy about it. Imagine how it must feel to be a miserable **** every season, and goddammit, the Chiefs might actually not be good enough this year... must feel awesome to finally be validated. |
Losing to the Lions and Eagles, despite being at home, is understandable. They're both quality rosters and had the "juice" but for differing reasons.
Blowing the streak against the Donks sucks for the sake of the rivalry but whatever. Today's loss and the Bills loss is inexcusable. |

We are all disappointed in the play of this team this year. The loss today is indicative of the consistent downward trend of this team all year. I think it’s just hard to see a Mahomes/Reid team play THIS poorly. Would love to see some shake up this week, but doubt it will happen.

-18 yards in the first quarter. The Kansas City Chiefs started slow even during championship runs, but now, they're starting games in reverse.
It's slop. This didn't even look like a professional football team offensively. Lack of discipline, and lack of focus compound lack of talent. Coaches are supposed to get every ounce of talent out of the players. That ain't even close to happening with Reid and Co. this season. Repeated penalties, repeated procedure gaffes, by now over 40 God damn drops in 15 games. Utterly REMEDIAL playcalling. If this is Andy, the guy is cooked and it's over. More likely, it's Nagy and the guy needs to hit the bricks the moment the clock hits triple zero on our season. Another amazing play where we let the rb play quarterback instead of the best one on the planet, and confusion causes an easy 6 yard fumble 6, because the idiocy on the sideline us so ****ing bad, we don't know not to try circus plays inside our own ****ing 10. Then coming back with the same play we'd ran earlier, and the guy jumped it harder than dilphag9 ****ing a teddy bear with Chris Jones picture attached to the face for a pick 6. 14 points handed over on 2 plays because we have a 10 year old madden player spamming the same plays over and over. You have a golden opportunity for points, and you call a pathetically predictable 13th pass behind the line that is literally fist raped into oblivion with the Raiders sitting on it. Way to waste first down. Then to call the exact same God damn mother ****ing pathetic dumbass ****ing play just on the other side on second down for a miniscule gain, you've just pissed away half your chances to get points on a play that shouldn't have been called to start with. It's like whoever is running this shitshow believes that you can call the same plays repeatedly and this defense won't blow it up. Lot of blame to go around here, and sadly for the Andy Reid nuthuggers that on a weekly basis, brave the fromunda cheese under that gut to slob that knob, Andy has to take some responsibility for this. These guys weren't even close to prepared to play football today. |
My expectations have changed. But my emotional interest isn't a light switch. Can't just check out whenever all the ducks aren't lined up perfectly in a row. Shit doesn't look good, I'm definitely not disputing that.

This game brought me peace more that frustration or anger. It is really gross losing to the Raiders...at home...on Christmas...in a T-Shirt game. BUT, the last strand of hope I was holding onto, that Andy had some master trick up his sleeve, was snapped today. My expectations are gone. I am at peace with the team and its fate. We are not a Super Bowl contender. Whatever happens in the playoffs, win or lose, is gravy. I look forward to resetting for next season with the best quarterback in history, and some great defensive pieces.
People calling for Veach's head...this is not a game of Madden. When you orchestrate 3 Super Bowl Trips in 4 years with 2 wins you earn some grace. Calm the **** down. |
we looked pretty rough today
|
My eyes have told me through the past 60 years of watching the NFL that the Chiefs do indeed have a punchers chance to win this year. A QB like Mahomes can rip the heart out of teams that look much better on paper. All we have to do is get in the playoffs. And then get hot for 4 games. Stranger things have happened.

I've said it before, but would have loved to be a fly on the wall this season when it came to receiver discussions in the offseason and again at the trade deadline. It just seems so damn short-sighted and ill-informed to blame one guy when Mahomes clearly has input on who works out with him in the offseason, and I'd really have to assume has input in the form of "get me a ****ing receiver" if needed. It would be really interesting to move beyond the Madden talk here and really know what the efforts looked like, did Mahomes feel like were good or could work with what they had, and so on and so forth. |
