He has never demonstrated winning characteristics, and I don't think he starts now. Likely cut at some point in the season.

He’s just fascinating because the dude plays tough and runs violently. Including the way he cuts. It’s actually probably the reason he can’t stay healthy. So I don’t know if we can even pin it on him not trying. I think it’s way more a focus thing and it’s on the field more than it is off it.

Hot take: I think they trade Skyy for a day 3 pick in August. Some team will want to try with him being a 2nd rd pick (yes as dumb as that is it matters).

Hardman is a lock. They didn’t bring him back to be training camp fodder. They’ll carry 7 WR’s again.

The last one is a toss up, but I would lean towards:

Watson
Remigo
Moore

Mahomes likes Watson. He's made big plays for this team in key moments. I don't see him going anywhere. He's a perfect #4 for this team. Toney is more trouble than he's worth. Hardman's health has been an issue in the past but they're obviously keeping him around.

chiefzilla1501 06-11-2024 11:44 AM

I like Watson but he’s gotta be a role player when you want to take an aggressive first or second down mid range shot. He’s too inconsistent to be anything else. I especially love him on early down long yardage situations. But there can clearly be a good place for him

O.city 06-11-2024 11:50 AM

Watson is an ideal 4th WR. Everyone wants to run him off for whatever reason.

More like a 5 or 6 but he's a depth piece.

Teams don't run 5 deep at WR.

He knows where to line up and can get open in a pinch. AKA 4th/5th whatever you wanna call it.

He also plays special teams.

Those are usually 5s or 6s unless you are carrying a guy who literally doesn't play at all.

I think our lack of quality depth forced him to go beyond his role. He’s ideally not a target eater. I dont know that he’s the guy you dial up for a critical 3rd down. But he’s a guy you can attack with some big play opps a few times a game.

O.city 06-11-2024 12:04 PM

You're 4th WR isn't ever gonna be a targe eater.

What the hell do you think the NFL is littered with? Teams that have 3 legit weapons or pass catchers are the exception, not the rule.

ToxSocks 06-11-2024 12:04 PM

He's Marc Boerigter reincarnated.

I think the problem is not trying on the field, it's the many facets of preparation during the week and off season in whuch he fails. That has kept him from being what he could be

I have never seen the alure of Watson, he isn't really any better than anyone else and he catches about 50% of his targets.

xztop123 06-11-2024 12:51 PM

If mecole skyy kt all make roster do we officially have the smallest wr room in history

Your and idiot.

Good size, speed, and plays specials.

He is when every other wr on your depth chart except a rookie you’re easing in was a disaster. Teams like Philly were flat out not guarding him. He got tons of targets and was pretty inconsistent with him. Adding legit wr depth allows him to slide back into more of a specific role which is better suited for him.

He's serviceable on team with few quality WRs.

Yep. It would be one thing if he flashed above average atheleticism or size ....Not sure any a GM would see his tape and say "we can work him into our offense."

Chief Roundup 06-11-2024 03:21 PM

Brown
Rice (we will see when and how long his suspension occurs)
Worthy
Watson
Hardman
Toney
Remigo
Moore
Ross

I think we only keep 6 WR on the roster this season.

Hey Sparky, before you call someone an idiot ... please learn grammar.

Good size and speed.... sounds like multiple players that haven't done much on this team for years.

Watson is fine at the bottom of the roster but acting like he is a weapon on this team versus an insurance policy is truly being an idiot.

P.S. I tried to type slow so you could read it better.

Ross had a couple of TD's today. :D
