We'll win but yeah the Bengals will play much better than they did today

They looked past the Patriots

They better be prepared for Chris Jones though

ThyKingdomCome15 09-08-2024 04:29 PM

We're better than CIN in all three phases. After the way they looked today a two score victory seems very plausible.

Bump 09-08-2024 04:37 PM

I just now looked at the scores, they lost to the Patriots ROFL

We win by 30

YontsRBake 09-08-2024 04:44 PM

Chase didn’t even have enough conviction to complete a contract holdout correctly.

He should take notes from 3x SB champion Chris Jones.

Reerun_KC 09-08-2024 04:44 PM

Cincy 27
Chiefs 30

Why cause that’s what we do.

Well let’s not get crazy here. Don’t you remember the Draftabulators and the Herm lovers?

The golden age of CP. That when this place really shined.

Plus I don’t pay attention to who’s right or wrong here. Makes no difference with the product or players in the field for this franchise.

The Bengals DL struggled today against a pretty mediocre OL.

Hendrickson looks uninterested in anything but chasing sacks, Hubbard looks like he took a step back, and they really, really miss Reader in the middle.

Dax Hill has also not stepped up at all and looks like a bust, and they have never found a solid replacement for Bates.

Logan Wilson is still a good all-around LB in the middle and they still have some talent and Antrim’s is still a smart coordinator, but this is not the Bengals defense of 2021 and 2022.

Biggest question for me is what their offense looks like week 2. A full-go Chase changes looks a lot.

Rainbarrel 09-09-2024 03:28 AM

JaMarr Chase next week every snap he's out there with Burrow throwing limp ducks, down 31-10, with Mahomes grinning on the sidelines.

nychief 09-09-2024 07:56 AM

I think it was obvious that the Bengals were overlooking the Pats and had an eye on their game with us this week. It was a trap game and they fell in it.

I expect them to play great against us...we are their most hated rival.

We should expect a tight game...we are everybody's super bowl.

RaidersOftheCellar 09-09-2024 08:01 AM

Outside of SF, Houston, and Buffalo, there aren't any real tough match ups.

Direckshun 09-09-2024 09:26 AM

I think this game will be on the Chiefs DL.

The Bengals defense stands little chance against this emerging juggernaut. Without DJ Reader, they got absolutely plowed by the Patriots, and the Chiefs also are fond of multi-TE sets. Pacheco may break 100 this game.

Lou Anarumo (sp?) is a great DC and the last few times he's played KC, he floods that intermediate zone and dares Mahomes to beat him deep. I expect he'll have a little success with that but this may be the game where Worthy gets some bombs thrown his way. Between those deep shots and a run game that Cincy will have to overcommit to stop, I see the Chiefs dropping 30+ this game.

Once you have to overcommit to an aspect of the Chiefs offense, Andy Reid will counter you to hell and back.

The Bengals offense still has weapons to challenge KC and to keep up, so long as Burrow has his head screwed on. But he looked awfully tentative in the face of a good passrush last week. If the DL can put heat on him, he flinches now in ways he simply hasn't in the past.

I was more sour on the Chiefs secondary from the Ravens game than most people were -- I thought their assignments were routinely messed up. The Bengals have a far better assortment of weapons, even without Chase, than the Ravens do, so this will be a clearer challenge for them.

But if you rattle Burrow, I don't think it'll matter. And unfortunately for the Bengals, I simply don't think their OL is very good.

I entered this season believing the Chiefs would be kinda lucky to start off 2-0. If Burrow returns to prime form, this game could legitimately be a shootout that the Chiefs could lose because I am not currently crazy about our secondary aside from Reid and McDuffie. But if Burrow keeps burrowing like he did against the Patriots, I think 2-0 is far more likely than not.

In short, we have more answers for the Bengals on both sides for the ball than they have for us. I think we are likely to win this game, like, 31-20.

pugsnotdrugs19 09-09-2024 09:55 AM

Reminds me a lot of what happened with the Rams.

One of the most explosive offenses in NFL history.

One ring and done. Only 4 winning seasons. QB couldn't stay healthy.

Sassy Squatch 09-09-2024 11:45 AM

What a twist. The team refuses to negotiate in good faith with any star player not named Joe Burrow so they've all gone flaccid.

philfree 09-09-2024 11:47 AM

The opportunity for the Chiefs is pretty big if they go 2-0 and put these two AFC rivals essentially two games down for HFA. Yeah it's a long season but getting a leg up on these teams now puts us in the driver seat and it will also be a great way to kickoff the 3-peat chant.

Same thing last year when Burrow was struggling with his calf injury. The Bengals offense was non-existent for the first several games of the season. Eventually he got more comfortable with the calf situation and their offense became pretty successful until Burrow’s wrist injury. The backup QB did a pretty solid job for them, but they missed the Playoffs without Burrow.

Direckshun 09-09-2024 12:56 PM

Guys,

If Higgins can't play, and we don't know if Chase will play... how exactly do the Bengals beat us?

The one advantage they had over the Ravens was that they have better weapons. They somehow have even worse weapons if Chase/Higgins don't play.

Burrow/Lamar are a wash. The Ravens defense is better.

I suppose the Bengals have a better DC but how exactly do the Bengals plan on winning this game?

Edit: Chase will play. So the Bengals still have a chance, IMO.

Hammock Parties 09-09-2024 12:58 PM

Sassy Squatch 09-09-2024 12:59 PM

pugsnotdrugs19 09-09-2024 01:03 PM

Offense would have looked even worse and then they could have said it was because he didn't play, leading to the contract extension this week before facing a rival.

I still believe they play us close, for at least one half. There's no way they play that bad 2 weeks in a row. Its either a nail biter to the end, or we pull away in the 2nd half as the Bungles unravel.

The weird thing is their Owner being stingy with money when this is the closest the Bengals have ever been to success, and they're playing extra coy about their QB who's wrist may never be the same.

Weird vibes from that team. Reminds me of the Days of our Steelers year where it was non-stop drama every week.

Lamar takes a lot of heat on this board but he does evade the pass-rush and make his OL look better than they are.

Burrow cannot do that so this is the week for the rushers to get home and bury the QB.

They probably just had a bad game. I mean it was week-1, no team is a finished product. But if Chiefs get off to a quick start it would great because it could mess with their confidence.

Burrow cannot do that so this is the week for the rushers to get home and bury the QB.

It’s not just Lamar’s ability to simply evade pressure either.

Watch our DL closely from that game. Jones or whoever would win immediately and have to break down to contain Jackson. The threat of him running means the DL or blitzers have to hesitate a bit when they get past the line, even when Lamar doesn’t do anything at all.

If that’s Burrow, those guys are just going to tee off on him. No hesitation at all.

Either that, or he's recording something
Either way, who cares...
